- The Band and Bugles of The Rifles providing musical support for Changing the Guard in Windsor on 4 May 2024.
It was sunny and warm, with hardly any wind, but it was very crowded which brought its own challenges for filming as is evident in various places in the movie.
0:00 The band and bugles emerging from the barracks and marching up Sheet Street and round into the High Street on their way to Windsor Castle, leading the New Guard, playing "Bab El Mandeb" and then "Quick Silver".
3:05 Not much to see here at first for the volume of crowds, but at least most of the music can just about be heard! The band and bugles marching off the High Street and up Castle Hill and entering the castle, leading the New Guard, playing "Silver Bugles" and then "Le Regiment de Sambre et Meuse".
4:36 The band and bugles (the bugles now aren't playing) marching back down Windsor High Street and round into Sheet Street, leading the Old Guard, playing "General Mitchell" (Robert Browne Hall), then "Thessaly" (a Greek march), and then the start of "Wellington" (Wilhelm Zehle).
And a nice stroll back!
Relative to the outbound march, that's certainly the case!
Good morning, Mike. Thank you for your efforts
Hi Charlotte, yes, it was a bit of a struggle. Nonetheless, I trust you've seen the views of your gentleman spectator, including a very prominent one! I didn't see the lady though.
@@MikeM14-40 yes I did see him. I saw the lady Thursday on Cynocephali’ video. She was on High Street and stopped near the church
Moving fast past
I’m very surprised that the cops never had there riot gear on as it was a British celebration
Pity the cop thinks The Rifles need to be escorted - they don't !
The Police Officer leading the troops has a symbolic role - that over the overriding authority of the Civil Power over the Military. The armed officers with the troops are focused on Counter-terrorist as the troops are focused on their ceremonial role. So, tge Police are a necessary precaution as well as symbolic.
It wont be long when all festivities will no longer be displayed but rplace by muslim displays
Ok pal.
