A major part of what killed TFC this year was Copa America, specifically losing Osorio, Laryea, & Johnson. In the 7 games TFC played during Copa they lost 6 and won 1. 4 of those games (3 at home) were against teams that are currently below TFC in the table and they lost all but one of them (only beating a Philly team that hadn't won in 9 games). Oso was the biggest loss by far. TFC is 9W-7L-3D with Osorio and 2W-10L-0D without him. Laryea has only played 9 times in MLS with only 4 going the full 90. And while Sean Johnson was getting comfy on the US bench at Copa TFC shipped 11 goals in 4 games, including that last minute Gavran giveaway to Atlanta. It's far from the sole reason things have gone wrong but if they had Oso, Richie, & Sean and picked up 6-7 more points in that run TFC are a comfortable playoff team.
Yes TFC need players from major football country but from their B or C team! Players like berna, poz and even insigne, but Lorenzo has to play better! Stay away from star concacaf players!
They're better than last year. but the team was poorly constructed so this year is all about unloading some of those terrible contracts and moving forward .
100% true.
Improved from last year, but until Insigne's contract is done and many of the overpaid contracts are off the books, it's a bit tough to do anything.
Also the sports science program needs an entire revamp. Like WTF is going on there. Still way too many injuries.
This team has not played a complete game this year. There has always been breakdowns in every game. Capable of being great. Not able to keep it up.
Most yellow cards and probably the most from poor discipline, like arguing with the refs, kicking the ball away, or handbags after the whistle
