      @@jamesphilip4562 its way too heavy and long to be hauling through the woods so I'd say no it's a bench rest target rifle.
      And actually I'm not that impressed with it. The bolt feels like cheap hollow aluminum that goes "tink" when you pull the trigger. The grip is hard plastic and uncomfortable, also very cheap feeling. I'm going to spend my money elsewhere.

    • @Uberragen21
      @Uberragen21 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I want to agree, but it really takes a dedicated sportsman to really enjoy the PRS style rifles.
      You can't really skimp on scope (too much), mounts, bipod, ammunition.
      Speaking of ammunition, you will burn a hole in your pocket if you don't reload. So then start adding in the reloading equipment costs and time to learn and process hundreds of rounds a week or month. Lots of people want to get into precision shooting, like me, but once I started researching the costs...I walked away.

    For about $30 you can get a bolt lift kit that is a very simple self install that will take about a pound or so off the lift weight. I have put them on 2 of my Savages.

    • @AlabamaArsenal
      @AlabamaArsenal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Still a great pump gun even though it is mostly plastic, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxh4su9YgU1tWmjikirWcKJbjsFLEU62Bc but with care it will last a long time. It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. The included scope is more of a toy, but it does work for backyard plinking. I prefer to use pellets for greater accuracy, but BBs are just as good for plinking. This is not a Red Ryder folks; fully pumped it is 3 times the power of a Red Ryder and can be dangerous if not handled properly. Be safe out there.

    @ZERO-F2G- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes keep em coming, your reviews are truly great. The production value as some call it is nice and all and adds to the entertainment value, but what I really take away is how it seems like I gave you the item and said, hey I'm pretty tied up right now, play around with this and then tell me if you think its a good choice or not.
    What you liked, didn't like, how big was it, etc.
    Great channel.
    Side note, I love my Ruger PR in 6.5 CM, but had this been around at the time, I would have dropped the extra 500 or so franklins for it, as its more bang (pun intended) for the buck.
    But both Ruger and Savage are killing it with quality and innovation.

    i installed a bolt lift kit/bearing into my savage 110 tactical and it solved the bolt lift issue. although it did not fix the hiccup in the feeding of a round into the chamber, its 6.5 creed and with the sharp shoulder angle it seems to catch on the shoulder when feeding the next round almost every time. the action as a whole is pretty gritty and sloppy as well, you need to hold your mouth just right while the stars align above you to get a smooth feed into the chamber.

Before the 1st round was EVER fired from it (actually before it left the store) I had it rechambered for 300 WSM... Add to the rifle’s price ( $1700.00 ), an Atlas bipod and rear monopod, a Trijicon 4.5-30x Accu-Trac scope, Seekins rings, EGW 60 MOA Base, scope level, a set of butt pad spacers, and “new” CeraKote to entire rifle (I hated the MDT Grey)... And viola, I now have 2000-yard tack-driver for just under $ 4500.00...

    So I’m new to the channel and have been looking at one of these long range savages for a while. But what’s holding me back from buying one is that I find the safety difficult to reach when my hand is in normal position. Did you find that to be the case with this gun? I’ll be using it for hunting so an easy to reach safety is vital. Thanks man!

    Great video! Just watched TNP's video on the Sig Cross--
    The Cross can be summed up in two words: *UNRELIABLE* and *DISAPPOINTING!*

    i have been extremely happy with my savage stealth in .308 (in the older mdt chassis ) it has been very solid out to 800 yards on steel , consistent on coyotes out to 500 yards and solidly put down 6 deer over the past 2 years from 200 to 300 yards !

      @Simon Smog In the early 90's I was getting coffee at a 7-11 and I am near a major sea port. I walked out to my car, and some hustler comes up to me and he does the "Hey bro! You like a great deal? I have killer deals for you! The usual. I told him leave me alone, and there were two guys. They had got out of a Ford Aerostar. He pulled the sliding door open and it was filled with guns and stereo equipment. Im was floored. It was all obviously from China. Right off a ship. The stereo stuff was crap. He had Norinco stuff. I got a civilan AK-47 for $125. That's all I had. He had Norinco Dragunovs in there, all brand new. They smelled like mint. I should have got his number. What a dumb ass. Still have the AK. I've never paid high for a gun, I'm just cheap. Most of what I. have I got a long time ago when it was super cheap.

    I have this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor and have added all 5 MDT internal weights plus 6 external, plus the stock or rear weight. It shoots great but that bolt is terrible. Nothing smooth about it period... Also, I want to go with a different trigger...I can't find anyone with a replacement trigger for this. I also have a Ruger Precision Rifle which came with a trigger similar to the Savage AccuTrigger. I replaced it with a one pound Timney and it is excellent. I've tried 3 or 4 trigger companies and no luck. So far, I've hit steel out to 1,200 yards. I'm sure it will go beyond that IF I could find a place to shoot that distance. Nice video anyway.

    Idk if Savage just doesn't advertise enough, but they've been flying under the radar for some time now. The value for the $ is exceptional. I've always known about savage as a company for 35 years, but only recently have found out how accurate thier rifles really are. Straight out of the box. A 110 setup (and likely others) are def in my future.

    • @AlabamaArsenal
