The lesotho team have a game plan which is to soak the pressure and go on a counter which they did very well but our game plan did not make sense which is to get early goal and lesotho will come out to play

Osimhen or Kelechi wouldn't have missed that chance. Lets hope that Benin plays a goaless draw with SA.

When you see a team in football that thinks it can play offensive football and hardly score goals while opening loads of spaces for the opposition to counter and get easy goals, you have a very big problem. I thought the team was bad during Amaju Pinnick and Rohr's era, but this Musa Gusau and Peseiro era beat them by far.
I think we were just unlucky, plus Lesotho having a good goalie. This same team can thradh Lesotho in Lesotho. Again, the goal keeping department is still our biggest problem.

Everything starts with the coach. From friendly matches to Nations Cup qualifiers and to this match, I have not been impressed with the way the Super Eagles have been playing. As much as Gernot Rohr wasn't a coach who played attractive football, his team had a way to get results & had character. NFF made a big mistake sacking him before last year's Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier. We all saw the outcome of that decision. NFF went on to bring a mediocre coach in Jose Peseiro, yes the players didn't play great but a team is the reflection of the coach. Can anyone pinpoint any match the Super Eagles played very well under Peseiro? Performances have been shambolic. The earlier they sack him and install Finidi George or a more competent coach to handle that team, the better. They have not even played Zimbabwe, South Africa, or Benin and they are struggling? Nigeria might miss the next World Cup. Nigeria Football doesn't even interest me anymore, the performances are not assuring and you can get a heart attack or become depressed. The team lacks characters & leaders, and no experienced players to push the team. You would expect after the equalizer, they would become more aggressive and search for the second goal, but the attitude of players & the coaching was lukewarm and below-par. Ademola Lukman should be benched. He never plays like that when he plays for Atalanta in Serie A, but his performances for the Eagles are always poor.

If you want to hire a football coach, the track record of that coach is an important factor to consider. Then, what is the track record of Jose Paseiro as a football coach particularly at national level. I think the NFF has not done us good by hiring Peseiro for the Super Eagles.

Sorry 4-4-2 is an outdated strategy, that's why the top teams don't use that formation. Don't forget that the formation has a significant weakness. Against a technically gifted 4-3-3 their two midfielders will be outrun. Also most national teams have improved their fitness level, so even small teams can go defensive and just pack the bus like Lesotho did. Once you cut out the wing play off 4-4-2 (Just like Tunisia and Ghana did) then you'll have serious problems and you don't have the numbers in middle to dominate the centre of the pitch. Based on the current composition of the national team 442 is probably best but against superior teams who dominate the midfield battle, we will get thrashed. 4-0 against Portugal should be reminder of how limited such a tactic is

Dont underate any team. 5. Awoniyi should not be another Yakubu Aiyegbeni, he should have scored that goal. 6. There was no much time to prepare for this match. 7. So many wayward passes this game, it was almost as if they didn't even know each other's names, talk less of played together. There was entirely no coordination especially in the final third. When you see a team in football that thinks it can play offensive football and hardly score goals while opening loads of spaces for the opposition to counter and get easy goals, you have a very big problem. I thought the team was bad during Amaju Pinnick and Rohr's era, but this Musa Gusau and Peseiro era beat them by far.

Everything starts with the coach. From friendly matches to Nations Cup qualifiers and to this match, I have not been impressed with the way the Super Eagles have been playing. As much as Gernot Rohr wasn't a coach who played attractive football, his team had a way to get results & had character. NFF made a big mistake sacking him before last year's Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier. We all saw the outcome of that decision. NFF went on to bring a mediocre coach in Jose Peseiro, yes the players didn't play great but a team is the reflection of the coach. Can anyone pinpoint any match the Super Eagles played very well under Peseiro? Performances have been shambolic. The earlier they sack him and install Finidi George or a more competent coach to handle that team, the better. They have not even played Zimbabwe, South Africa, or Benin and they are struggling? Nigeria might miss the next World Cup. Nigeria Football doesn't even interest me anymore, the performances are not assuring and you can get a heart attack or become depressed. The team lacks characters & leaders, and no experienced players to push the team. You would expect after the equalizer, they would become more aggressive and search for the second goal, but the attitude of players & the coaching was lukewarm and below-par. Ademola Lukman should be benched. He never plays like that when he plays for Atalanta in Serie A, but his performances for the Eagles are always poor.

If you want to hire a football coach, the track record of that coach is an important factor to consider. Then, what is the track record of Jose Paseiro as a football coach particularly at national level. I think the NFF has not done us good by hiring Peseiro for the Super Eagles.

The problem is they are not coverting their chance, notin a coach can do with dis kind of situation, the player are not coverting their chances, d coach just need to go back and learn nigeria formation history dat all. Back to the 1980, we play wing 7 and 11 on a four four two, that our history, he need to understand it and have is own tactics if playing a difficult or more superior team. Also dey are a bit unlucky.
Sorry 4-4-2 is an outdated strategy, that's why the top teams don't use that formation. Don't forget that the formation has a significant weakness. Against a technically gifted 4-3-3 their two midfielders will be outrun.
Also most national teams have improved their fitness level, so even small teams can go defensive and just pack the bus like Lesotho did. Once you cut out the wing play off 4-4-2 (Just like Tunisia and Ghana did) then you'll have serious problems and you don't have the numbers in middle to dominate the centre of the pitch.
Based on the current composition of the national team 442 is probably best but against superior teams who dominate the midfield battle, we will get thrashed. 4-0 against Portugal should be reminder of how limited such a tactic is

When you have too many strikers you tend to be confused. 2. 4.4.2 was not the best for this type of match. 3. Uzoho made some saves in this match the goal was not his fault. 4. Dont underate any team. 5. Awoniyi should not be another Yakubu Aiyegbeni, he should have scored that goal. 6. There was no much time to prepare for this match. 7. Super eagles, please focus on the next match. 8. Coach please study the opponents before employing your tactics. 9. Please keep scouting for midfielders, good goalkeepers and defenders. 10. I advise we manage our expectations on the current SE. The team is technically deficient. Its very obvious from their previous matches. This team might likely not win the AFCON and qualify for the world cup. Our football administrators are killing the game. Paseiro wont even be handed a feeder team in a serious set up.
This team will struggle against any European club sides with this performance at national level.
