Was a pleasure Steve looking forward to many more, hopefully next time with many more fish to help keep you sorted with the catch and cooks for a while ;) Knocked it out of the park again with the Michellin star meal. That method well and truly has me intrigued.

@AdzFishing Mate I was so impressed with the poaching. I'll definitely do that regularly.
Thanks again Adz.. I look forward to our next session.
      Cheers mate 👍

Great episode. Really enjoyed it and the cooking lesson at the end was awesome. I’ll have to try that recipe with salt water. I might catch you on the 90 mile one day soon 👍

Really enjoying the cook up's at the end there. When you put so much effort into catching a fish, you might as well go the whole hog and show us the end result on the plate. Cheers for sharing and HNY.

What memories…1969, 13 years of age and had built my own 12ft cane rod, worked my ring out to get enough money together to buy a Capstan overhead reel (still have it although only good for dropping over the side of the boat drifting for flatties now). My brother in law took me, my brother and father there. My first ever fish was a small salmon. What intrigued me back then was the little train that ran along the top of the hummocks between towns. Sensational cook up. AWESOME!

@Mark-ew5jm 1969?.. was that before or after watching the first moon landing?.. 😜
It's an awesome beach, bit surprised I haven't fished it before.
      Thanks heaps Mark 👍

Well done Mate, nice Salmon! 👍 Good to see you have a new fishing mate (Adem).
Great idea with the seawater- poaching. I'm definitely going to try that myself.
Also ; Love that peninsula, I used to do paragliding there at Portsea when I was living in Melbourne. ❤

You have gone all Manu on us and better for it! Seeing you with a glass of wine and adding the butter to the sauce was great to see. You almost did a bouillabaisse of stacking the potatoes and fish in rapidly boiling water. Again French.
I’ve fished Gunnamatta quite a few times with a few salmon and once saw a whale breach right out in the depths. And no surfers either! Cheers for 2025 Steve.

@rodneyashton8742 thanks Rodney, yeah it was kind of French wasn't it..lol
      Very enjoyable!
The surfers weren't really a problem.

Looks like the waves weren't strong the day you went. I went there a while ago, and it was so strong that day and many people were surfing.

    • @SteveOutside
      @SteveOutside  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@johnkeynes8873 i don't really do recipes, I just eye ball it.
Soften the garlic in olive oil on a low heat. Add a handful of chopped Parsley and a splash of white wine.. cook to reduce the wine by about half.
Stir in a good nob of butter.

hehehe SteveO. Mate when you said you were at Gunamatta, then I saw you in your hideaway; I thought to myself, the blighter has wheels on his shack 🤣 Loved the look of that salmon mate. Lets see how you cook it up. Nice one SteveO! Hey SteveO, that rain. What day did this occur? Is it today 14 January, or was that on some other day? Love that wet weather mate. I don't feel so home sick when it rains like that.
