Hey thanks for showing us how to do the work when we don't have the specific release tool. Nice approach using jeweler screwdrivers. Sorta concerned me, but you got thru the task with ease. Really like how you emphasized the separation of the plastic bodies by looking at the construction of the pieces. Watching a bunch of these, and yours is definitely value added.
Thanks for downloading There needs to be a class on disconnecting those electrical connectors I myself have run into problems with disconnecting them Thanks again for a good class
Thanks for the comment and I hope it is helpful. Please watch the following video as well which is to De-Pin the engine ECM connector which is much more complicated. th-cam.com/video/62weud19ujA/w-d-xo.html
@@AutomotiveDiagnosisI have a question for you. How do you attach a replacement pin onto a wire, would a heat shrink crimper work? That’s all I have near me right now… I am under my steering wheel typing this comment right now, and just took off 20 pins from a connector of the wiring harness with the brake lights as one of the pinned wires next to the brake pedal. The Honda Dealership that I brought the car in to fix the brake lights(the first time) put the pin in backwards/upside down so that it wouldn’t lock into place , and that pin hole on the plastic connector melted around the pin. Lol. I am about to reattach all the pins into the replacement plastic connector that I got from a junkyard.
Hi, thank you for showing how to remove the wires from the various connectors. Do you have a video on how to remove repair the wires from their female connector in order to grab the pin of the ecm/pcm better? Thanks!
Hi my friend. If you mean the male pins on the ECM side, no we don't have that video on the channel at the moment. Those male pins are normally soldered to ECM board from one end.
Awesome video. Are the terminals like at 9:27 called tyco connectors? I’m having trouble sourcing them for replacement on my o2 sensor female connector. Also is the terminal that plugs in to that called a blade terminal connector? Thanks!
Hi there, Yes, it is hard sometimes to find the connectors. I normally search by car model and connector name (sometimes connector serial number will help too).
I have a connector on a Japanese motorcycle I need to remove because the wire broke. It is similar but different. I believe that it has a center part that needs to come out first. My question is where can you buy the particular pin to fix it? Thank for giving me an idea about this process and the close up camera work on the pins was really good.
Hi there, thanks for your comment. Most of the time I have many pins from the previous jobs and I try to keep them all as it is not very easy sometimes to find the pins. But generally there are some packs of different terminals in the market that can be helpful. But of course you need to make sure that your pin in included in the pack.
@@AutomotiveDiagnosis I went to two different computer shops and could not find it. I also learned how to take this apart a little too late, but I made it work. It's probably just a temporary repair. I give it 50/50 lasting. This is on a Japanese dirt bike and it's an unique connector, so no one will have it
I have a 2002 f 250 SD FORD i had to remove the fuse box to have the fuel relay repair and i broke one wire and where can fine a pin for ford harness or a part number
Normally part number is for the whole fuse box not only for the pins. I think you can go for another option too which is finding a pre-owned fuse box which has all the pins inside.
I’m having a hard time getting the small puns out of the 4efte Toyota ECU 26 pin connector. I had to shape a steel fork to get in the front but I hardly make the small pins click. Any suggestions?
Gracias por la información, tengo un problema con mi carro que estoy seguro que va relacionado a los pines, acá en México no eh encontrado nadie que los trabaje, con esta info puedo tratas de hacerlo yo🎉
Dude... please help. I am trying to depin a radio harness connector in my 2009 civic but I have no idea how. I have picture but I dont think youtube will alow me to upload pictures.
Hi there, sorry mate, I don’t have any video for that right now. But connectors are mostly the same as I showed them in the video. Watch the video and see how you can reach to the locking tabs to release the pins and take them out. Shouldn’t be very complicated, I’m sure you can do it.
Hi my friend. I'll put the connector into a vice (or ask someone to hold the connector) then, I'll release the locking tab with one hand, and will "push" the pin out (using a small screwdriver) with the other hand.
Most of the connectors are pretty much similar, for that connector, check the connector face to see how you can reach to the pins to release them. I will also make a video as soon as I have one.
Some pin removal tools are designed for this situation, using those tools, you can push the pin out at the same time when you release the pin lock, if you don’t have that tool, simply use a small screw drawer to release the lock, and another one to push the pin out.
I replaced My starter on My GMC van, simply job, yes , NO !!! the wiring connector was behind the starter and very difficult to even touch. I almost needed Therapy and counseling afterwards. 🙄

In a H7 style plug with wires coming in at 90degree, are pins in there? or just a special 90 spade head wire?? Hope this makes sense 😂

how about connectors with only 1 to a few terminals? or how bout the male pin sides?

How do i findout why type or size of terminals a certain plug uses ?
Some companies provide catalogues for the connectors and pins which list all connectors based on the number and application.
What if the wire has broken and no longer connected to the pin, how do you get the pin out?
Hi my friend. I'll put the connector into a vice (or ask someone to hold the connector) then, I'll release the locking tab with one hand, and will "push" the pin out (using a small screwdriver) with the other hand.
