My grandpa passed and the family gave me his 91 cummins, red and white exterior on red interior. So much better of a first car than a beater accord or something.
Take care of it and I'm glad you are driving your grandpa's rig, R.I.P. to him. I'm fixing one a 91 first gen for my dad right now. They are excellent!
Yea I love mine too I just got done replacing the steering linkage. It was all factory from 92 mine is a d series extended cab though and I just hit 126k miles on the odometer. It just hit its 30th birthday was manufactured in January of 92. Cool video 👍 truck looks really good.
Whenever people talk about their diesels and I tell them about my 1990 1st Gen, the Messiah Complex just goes to my head: "Yes, you may worship me now"...
My Speedo doesn’t work on my first gen.🤷♂️. You’re right about it being a tractor that’s street legal. Mine rides like one. It has a flatbed on the back that’s heavy which helps a little bit. Those old first gens rode better with 1500 pounds on the bed
@@madmax24v I’ve been daily driving mine now with the higher fuel prices. It’s tuned hot with a giant turbo which actually helps the mpg. 17 in town and 20-25 on the highway depending on how heavy my foot is
Have had my 1st gen w250 for twenty years now. 425,000 km and still going strong. I have moved 90 ton passenger coaches around at the rail yard with it. My daily driver when I need 4 wheels instead of 2. I still get notes left under the wipers " do you want to sell this truck".
I have the same setup but in 2nd gen platform, 96 5spd 4x4 Cummins single cab long bed half painted white. I think it’ll be worth swapping a 6 speed into it. Much better gearing.
@@jessicamcconnell5903 Definitely better for towing, I use it to tow my skid steer around, 6 speed 24v swapped currently, I’m thinking of going dually since it is a 1 ton frame.
Well considering my stock gasser 89 w100 318ci with np435 4speed stick barely gets 10mpg on the highway, your still saving with the higher diesel prices.
Hell yeah man I'm in the market for a truck to haul a bunch of cars, and I'm dead set on a 1st gen cummins. Ideally it would be exactly like yours, w250, manual, intercooled. Not sure if you looked into it but these things run great on black diesel, and if you get good at making it pretty much costs you nothing.
We had one that I replaced the speedometer sensor and hacked a dakota clock spring for it. Grandpa gave it to a relative who didn't appreciate it and the glass got smashed out by crackheads. That relative sold it for$6000 to a military kid. I really wanted it though because it was possible to do things and itwas more durable than the Toyota but whatever. I got a v8 at least for the highway. But i like long beds.
If you put new leaf springs and shocks on it would it ride better? Like fox shocks and maybe sky jacker leaf spring in the front and back would it make much more comfortable ride? I’ve got a gasser w150 and I’m thinking about doing that because of how shitty the ride is
I have to admit I actually had local springworks do their magic on my 4 inch lifted W250 and it has a much better ride and actually has a little better payload capacity.... they use more spring leafs to make that happen but they have the geometry figured out, pretty slick...not cheap😬🤗
I know exactly what it's like, well I did until a drunken idiot ran red light and totaled it. Was a beautifully restored dually, 5 speed. It looked new, 2 tone brown and tan.
I just made another comment here before I realized I could actually respond to this you wrote. Spring Works is a company here locally that have the details figured out on how to make these first GEN trucks write a lot better. They do it for all of them, Ford Chevy international everyone. A little bit expensive but definitely worth it if you’d like these trucks it’s worth the investment. They are still not like brand new trucks but they are far better than what Dodge did from the factory
@@madmax24v Great price, they are only going up in value now, if you have one with no rust, I don't think they use salt in WA, don't in Oregon but they want to change that. Take good care of it man. Your driving a legend. Especially that 12 valve cummins.

Thanks man!! And that’s awesome!
Nice nothing tops the sound of a 12 Valve Cummins with a manual transmission coming down the road. What's your asking price for this W250?
Replaced the steering link and the box. Its still loose as a old international.
“Its just a tractor thats road legal” couldnt be more right 😂😂
Beautiful rig!! Great find in today’s market
I love my white extended cab w250, wish mine had paint like yours🤘🏼
Some of the best trucks ever made.
A first gen cummins is my dream truck!!!

Absolutely LOVE mine as well. mine is my dads W350 with 155000 on it slowly restoring it...mainly the paint job!
Right on!

… your living my dream tbh I have a 07 ram I’m working on and trying to fix up I want a first gen but my 3rd gen is filled with problems
I mean it’s like driving a truck it wasn’t built that long ago we’re not talking about a model t here. Nice truck.
Nice truck. Want one. Durable, reliable, and probably better in fuel than the gassers.
Not when diesel is 2 bucks more than gas.

Figure out how to get rid of the whistling window? Been looking at weather guards.

I'd buy one of these just for the old school vent windows.
Wing windows are the shittt
I have same truck I love but starting it in winter sucks
I fucking knew you lived in E burg. I seen you driving around, I live down the road from you😂
Yeah you gotta do your seatbelts now truck looks great though
I like it!
Sheesh I want one just like that it sounds soo good
Truck is gorgeous!!! Not sure why you even use 1sr gear at all though. 😂😂😂
As a 93 w250 owner I concur these trucks are legit street legal tractors. Ride worse than a mack log truck but just don't quit.
Put Some Alcan springs in it with some gorilla hangers, rides better than my 2nd gen
I own a 1990 dodge w1504x4 318 original enigine automatic transmission locking fur wheels on the hubs
What's the "I don't want to sell it price?"
Looks like the 350 , I bought new , in 1990 .

The truck turned out fantastic. Can you give me the specs on the wheels and tires? Trying to get something other than the stocks on my 91.5.
Thank you. They were 17” and I don’t remember what the band or tire size was. Sorry I wish I could help more
you dont have to start in first in a cummins. I have a 3 gen and a 1 gen and have never started in first unless Im towing.
I live in e burg too.
Love it

I need one in my life
I have one and it’s for sale. Go to eBay and look for 1991 Dodge w250 it’s the only one with Harley Davidson colors.
Where did you find all the black interior pieces? My trucks insides are falling apart.
I went around to junk yards and found all the pieces from gasser trucks, then painted them black with interior paint!
Fully stock factory exhaust?
How much are you selling it for
Not a fan of the big rims and skinny tires on the Gen2. Just looks silly IMO.
I like this one
what tint do you all around? have that truck is beautiful 🥵
Thank you!! And it’s 20 on the sides, 5 on back window, and 5 brow. I own a window tinting biz 😂

Plenty of videos on that. Back side the injection pump.

Fixing the ride and increasing the payload is very easy.
