At first, I thought this was how the magic disappeared by the time A New Generation begins. I was not expecting an Ancient Egyptian religion origin story.
This gives me massive Dark Souls vibes, how the world is slowly dying and becoming a dark, dead world, and how everyone is literally trying their damndest to stop the world from inevitably ending and live just a little while longer, despite the growing obviousness that nothing can be done. All things must come to an end.
Damn, is the world that came after equestria the human world, with Ra being the Egyptian God of the sun, and ancient egypt being the first true civilisation? Something lovecraftian definitely happened to discord by the sound of it.

Little spoiler for the story here. I have a little theory, when discord promised to make a new sun. I think he was actually literally making a new sun from scratch, that explains why he was gone for so long.

Great job as always there was never any doubt I am willing to accept this as the end of gen 4 and beggining of gen 5 thank you Scribbler you have helped me accept the new change.
Idk maybe if the princesses could’ve given their magic to twilight she would’ve had enough magical strength to cast a preservation spell on the sun to preserve its heat. I mean they had magic still, they could’ve casted spells that caused heat so they could fertilize the ground to plant- or even a duplication spell for the food.
Well, now I feel even worse about the fact that Twilight will most likely outlive all her friends (except maybe spike) and be forced to watch while each one of them dies. Not that your stories aren't good, Mrs. Scribbler, I really love listening to them! It's just that poor Twilight will be heartbroken when her friends all go away.😭😭😭
It would take a long time for the planet to start to freeze over but sooner or later every plant would die due to the lack of sunlight and the cold. But that the atmosphere would freeze I think you are using the wrong word

Anyone who paid attention to the entire lore of MLP G4 would know there used to be unicorns who lifted the sun and moon way before Celestia and Luna, the sun and moon isnt the source of there power, they simply just have the power to lift the sun and moon on there own, thats pretty much it.

It would take a long time for the planet to start to freeze over but sooner or later every plant would die due to the lack of sunlight and the cold. But that the atmosphere would freeze I think you are using the wrong word
