These are Samsung's new Galaxy Buds2, and put simply, they're a very interesting update to the original Galaxy Buds which were pretty affordable. They might just be one of the best alternatives to Apple's regular AirPods,.. But, if looked in a vacuum.
See, even if AirPods remain the most popular earbuds you'll see on the street, they never were the best value. They had terrible fit, no noise cancelling, no water resistance, and well.. They're nearly 5 years old… At their price, any pair of earbuds that can offer more for the same price will look better.. Which would be the case for these Buds 2 if 2021 hadn't changed everything.
Now we have Nothing's Ear (1s) and Amazon's Echo Buds 2 offering essentials like Active Noise Cancelling and water resistance for a lot less money, which takes me back to the point about looking at these Galaxy Buds 2 in a Vacuum. They do make AirPods look bad, but the question is if they're good enough to stand against the rest, or if they even have to. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and this is our full review!

Jaime, can you please dig into the Apple Airpods Pro leading to ear problems. I've gotten a really bad allergic reaction. And i've been using in-ear plugs since a few years. NEVER had any issues. But buying the Airpods Pro my ears are suffering. Had to stop using them. And googling on the topic, it seems to be a rather widespread reported issue. but it is never spoken of.
Would like to hear your take on it. As it has a few theories about what the issue is, it would be interesting to get a objective view on it.

Really liked them, saw a few reviews and was ready to buy them with the 50% discount pre-ordering the Galaxy Watch 4 gave me... Until I found out that you actually got them for free if you pre-order any of the foldable phones, which I did. Sooo yeah, I'm deep into Samsung ecosystem and I could not be happier!

@@TheRakeshArora Not really a trap though, I've been in their ecosystem for quite a while now lol I decided it was time to upgrade all my wearable tech, so I was gonna buy everything regardless. It just turned out much cheaper than expected because of all the pre-order deals and discounts I was able to get through an agent. Overall great experience, as always!
@@luciiidnights Well in my case I'm rocking a Galaxy S10, original buds, and Galaxy watch. So all of them are a couple years old. Still work perfectly but I figured it was worth it to upgrade now. Plus I've been dying to get into the foldable wagon and this is the first time I don't see them as incredibly fragile. I'll still baby it, but after trying it at the store I felt confident enough to take the gamble and support the R&D of new awesome tech like this!

@@pierre68299 Same amount? Lmao I got the Z Flip 3, Buds 2, and Galaxy Watch 4 for less than what the iPhone 12 Pro Max would cost me. Like I'm talking $200 cheaper, I checked. Other than that I agree 100% with you, the amount of features and options you get are not even comparable.
I got me a pair today , and I’m happy with them great sound, bass and noise canceling is stunning!
I recently got the Buds 2. Very comfortable, and they seal so nicely that I seldom even need the ANC except for really noisy environments.
Just got a pair. Nice set.

Very good review. Been an happy user of Galaxy buds+, battery life is unparalleled even with Samsung's own other buds offering. Probably upgrade to this one but would still keep the buds+ 🙂
Used the buds+ for a little under 2 years and the right bud's speaker is starting to give up on me 🥲 looking for an alternative but as someone who wears them basically my whole 8 hour shift im gonna miss that crazy battery life for sure.

@smilloww2095 stick with the buds plus for work I have both and I've kept the buds plus for work I'm an electrician and I'm moving and getting dirty/sweaty and I used the buds 2 when I first got them but went back to the plus for work and I use the buds 2 when at home or out with the family

I have had these for 6 months now and about 6 weeks ago I was doing the dishes and my left side one fell in the sink, l pulled it out ASAP and left it on a paper towel, all good. I love them 😊
Love them calls are perfect i was working around running garden tractors and my friend couldnt hear the engine running but heard me clear and they perfect if you like songs with lots of bass but not overwhelming overall good product
My opinion: Apple is very good at marketing and promotion. The AirPods are not the best bluetooth earbuds on the market, but they're certainly the most popular. As a result, other brands don't get the market and/or media attention that the AirPods do. And many Apple consumers know this. With so many earbuds to choose from, tech-makers need to step-up their aggressiveness in marketing and promoting their earbuds. In a case in point; I've had the experience of encountering some people who never heard of Jabra, Jaybird, and much to my surprise, a few didn't even know Sony and Bose made earbuds.
I'm not so sure it's even marketing at this point. I think it's more about the fact, that for many, being part of Apple ecosystem is related to status. They do not buy it because it's the best product or the best value. They buy it because everyone and their grandma will recognize that iPhone they are holding in their hands.

I loved them. Especially when it was super easy to pair them with my Nintendo Switch. I use 1 bud at a time during a 9 hour shift at work. 1 bud lasts about 7 or 8 hours. Which isnt bad
How do they sound with the switch?
dats actually more than enough, 4-5hhours is already enough for a moderate listener
I have the Buds + and the Pros, I found that I kept going back to the Buds+ cause the fit was better. I'm sure these are great, but I need the wing tips.
how is the bass in the pro's? idk what to get, the buds 2 or the pro's
@@nathanhassani5366 The bass is pretty good to me personally, but I know that's subjective. If I wear you tho I'd look for comparisons between the two.
@@nathanhassani5366 I own the pro's they are quite good, but call quality isn't always good. The bass is pretty good, same like the 360 audio. I do think they are over priced though

The lack of wingtips on the buds 2 is a bit annoying, especially with the egged design, other than that no complaints really

I dropped my galaxy buds pros during a thunderstorm. I found one earbud within a few seconds, but the other one was lost in the grass somewhere. It took me 20-30 minutes to find the other earbud and it was POURING ... Both work like new!!!

I bought these awesome, purple Samsung Galaxy Buds2 from Bestbuy in Ajax, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 for $119. They were on sale with $40 off. They are excellent. The sound quality is excellent. The noise canceling is very good. I didn't want to spend over $200 on ear buds so I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Buds2. They are excellent ear buds. The ear buds pair easily with my Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G Smartphone. 😊🙂

One of my friends has them. They said they are good by the way. But the spam of adds with those is way to much.
@@Reaperguy67 you need to tell your friend he needs to try other earphones. They are the muddiest unclear earphones on the market. I can tell you a $13 headphone that sounds better than it and they are wired
@@mikeythanos you have a point. I did hear they were like that when they let me tried it . I ended up getting duet 50 pros from black bay audio. They sound way better than those for under 60$.

i got the live a long time ago, wore them for a couple months too and from work and swapped away from them as they kept falling out when i was on the way home and was sweaty from a day long shift over a grill, im hoping these will be better especially given that i no longer work over a grill. Cant wait for them to arrive so i can test.

The galaxy buds pro I think are the best all around headphones and they're pretty cheap now and the Galaxy wear app is so useful
I argree with you. That's why I been looking at one of the Samsung watches to replace a Fitbit blaze I had since 2017.
@@Reaperguy67 the watch active 2 is great. I get 2-3 day battery life and Galaxy Wear is great for managing it

Having bought the Buds 2, I'd give them a big thumbs up when used with a S21 Samsung phone. Best value Galaxy pods so far.
I have a hard time getting them to fit and not fall out. The smalls fit the "best" but still not a tight fit unfortunately
@@sindelm7437 Are you inserting them and then turning them to fit? If the small tips aren't a tight fit you should use bigger ones.

Was able to buy a pair of galaxy buds 2 refurbished for $50 BEST DEAL EVER. They fit better than the JBL headphones i had, and connect seamlessly with any galaxy phone or device. Truly an upgrade for a decent price!!

I just found out that the 360 sound only works when the screen is on and not locked. As soon as the screen locks. 360 stops working, which is weird, unless im missing something.

Really wish they would include a wing tip in the design like the Buds+. I have been looking to get a pair of samsung earbuds for awhile now. Sad that they don't have one that has the best of both worlds for me, that is having ANC while having great fit for running/gym. 😭 THEY ARE SOOO DAMN CLOSE to a perfect earbud by my standards.. I would pay 20bucks extra for a wing tip design
They stay in very well that I dont think they really need a wing tip. What did you end up getting?

How are they when you are on a phone call I have bought other off brand and when I'm on the phone people say I cut in and out
IDK why I absolutely hate these compared to nearly everything else. Did everything right, but bass is weak, fit is just bad. Smiling or talking will dislodge them, yet they're glossy and so round it's hard to grab to remove when you DO want to take them out. They don't auto-pause when removing one bud (and no way to change that), and then any kind of readjusting almost always triggers some touch function. Tap to pause, then try to remove one bud, it will inadvertently trigger playing again. This leads you to have to tap the bud that's still in to pause again (as the one you removed no longer responds to touch), requiring two hands just to do this simple thing... And the app doesn't do much to improve things, except let you customize touch functions.
The only positive feedback I can give is that ANC is actually REALLY good.
I've really preferred the Jabra Elite 75t; they are leagues better, in almost every way.

That's a Garmin Fenix 6X pro.. A sports watch rather than a smart watch
I got this for ANC, not as good as my Anker muffs for half the price. You can still hear people and noise just a little muffled. With my Anker you cannot hear at all, not even the bathroom vent. Touch control sucks, need to be more customizable. Previous and next track should be with the lft and right buds not on the same buds with triple and double tap. I'm very dissapointed overall. I guess the difference with the muffs are better ANC, pro for portability for the buds.

Nah, they probably stop charging after they got 100 percent
They're supposed to be kept in their case when not in use so they're protected from damage and being lost , the buds also automatically turn on when the case is opened and when removed from it so it's best to keep them in the case to they turn off and so they charge back up after you use them.
I have the note 10+, i have the original galaxy buds which was replaced with the buds 2 due to intermittent charging and connection issues and i also have the galaxy tab A (2019) which I hardly use anymore and gave to my mom to watch K-dramas while she's preparing delicious dinner for me. I still have not sprung for the galaxy watch just yet because i think it's stupid and feels just like a smaller phone on your wrist. i don't have to always read my notifications they can wait.

+Pocketnow I think I'll love the Galaxy Buds2. Because I really love the Galaxy Buds+. If the Galaxy Buds2 fit like the Buds+ then I'll love them just as much, if not more than the Buds+.

With the case it’s more the same. But per earbud the battery range is worse from 11 hours to 8. With ANC on its 5.5 hours. But the size is much better 15% smaller

The Galaxy Buds Plus still reigns supreme in terms of battery life.

@@yousefal-assaf2985 Exactly, they are ovee priced for nothing. Just like apple phones. They say iPhones are so secure. But how many normal users need that level of security? Most of us don't. There are many features on Android that are practically useful to many users. And Cameras on S21 ultra and S22 Ultra much better than fruit phones.

@@user-ig6wi1oo2g I use them at work and they last for 6 hours at least. Never reached the point when they ran out. Then I put them back in the case and charge it when I think of it. Sometimes going 3 days before charging and it's all good.
Are these better than AirPods Pro?
When it comes to true wireless headphones. I prefer a brand call black bay. They have a pair of headphones that last 130 hours in a case. But the Samsung Galaxy buds have some great features as well.

I'll find out in 3 weeks when mine arrive. I took advantage of the 50% discount when purchasing the Galaxy Watch 4, which brought the price down to $75, even cheaper than the Buds+. I'll miss the outstanding battery life though.

I just realized something. Buying a smartphone and ear buds that are a year old and they're much cheaper. But what I realized is there basically the same as the new ones.
