I learned about the Sun thing in my geography class so let me see if I can explain it correctly. Since the Earth is on a tilted axis, based on what longitude you are at, the Sun is closer or farther from you based on where it is on the rotation around the Sun. This is actually why we have different seasons. So the light in your room is different because the Sunlight is hitting LA differently than in the other seasons. You can look up the Sun during the seasons for a visual. Also love vlogmas so much, hope this helped!❤️🎄

Hey Soph, the sunlight thing is indeed because of the position of the sun, or more like how we on earth perceive the sun as we rotate around it. During summer the sunlight hits the northern hemisphere more vertically, that’s why it doesn’t reach much further from your window, meanwhile during winter, it’s more horizontal, that’s why we can perceive more sunlight coming in. Hope this explanation helps

I believe the change of light in your apartment is to do with the Earths axis so the sun doesn't rise as high during the winter seasons so it goes into your window more because the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun and then during the summer it rises higher so is too high to go directly into your room because the northern hemispheres tilted towards the sun???? My dad did a 6 month long photo with a super slow shutter speed (?) to get a picture of the sun through the seasons and the height changes. It's really cool but I may be wrong 😭

The Earth orbits the Sun, the earths tilted axis always points in the same direction so as it moves around the sun throughout the year, different parts of Earth get the Sun's direct rays. 😊

this may sound strange, but I think it's because of the position of the sun depending on the seasons, because the positions of the sun change depending on the season we're in, like the sun stays in a certain position for longer, I don't know
