Currently working as a credit analyst at a BB. The work is really too comfortable: 39h/week, decent pay, 30-day annual leave, no disaster if the ddl is not met...... I guess many people will probably like this job. However, this is not what I want to get from my work, at least not now (maybe when I am 40+ yo) Hence, I am planning to move into IB in 1-2 years. The video is super amazing and you really made me believe in what I want. Thx Ben!
Hello Ben, really inspiring video. Quite like it, would you record something related Wharton MBA program? Kind of curious about the class enviroment during the lecture.
Your content has been really helpful for me. Thank you!! Could you do a video for people that are still in undergrad and the things that are most important in order to be prepared to be able to go to the companies that we desire to go to? Also, I’m still trying to sort out what field I want to go into- consulting, IB, PE, VC…. A video on the differences between them and what those experiences are like would be amazing
Thank you so much Ben. I agree with previous comments that you create truly unique content without cliche examples. Also, it’s great to follow your career and academic journey 🌸 Great content, looking forward to watching more videos from you 🌸
Hi ben! Thanks a million for this amazing video. You're doing so much free, for us...its magical really! I love to ask about your MBA program. How can one get fully funded dual programs in top schools? I.e like MBA/other courses
thanks for vid Ben. still a student this is a lot of the stuff on my mind. on your second point - what’s your take on consistency? as in lets say you stayed in banking for 5 to 10 more years would the benefits be worth it? (i guess it’s very case by case but how do you see the sacrifice of changing jobs/career frequently). thanks!
Hey Ben, I belong to ORM and my hard stats were slightly above class average but Application/ECs/work ex is strong. Rejects from T15 and T25. Planning to take up technical course itself just for the sake of moving out of country and save on opportunity cost(though I'm jittery). What do you think of MBA post 30 ?
Will mba programs consider the work experience you’ll gain in the year leading up to your application? So if I send in my application in September, I’m still going to work till August of next year so will that be counted for the work experience requirement.
Hi Ben, really enjoying this style of video :)) I'm an aspiring violinist which is obviously pretty different from anything corporate, but your advice is still very helpful! Wishing you the best
For those who want advice. 1) Technical aspect accounts for 30%, relationship accounts for 70% 2) Obey your superiors, fight your equals, and help your underlings 3) Always look at a situation from a ground above your current level. Appearance is deceptive. Don't listen to this little foo' who couldn't handle the pressure and quits after two years. He is the equal of a 25 yrs old life coach on Instagram, or a 19 yrs old fitness influencer. And make sure to make yourself presentable with manners, unlike this one.
Cool insight, Ben. Lots of food for thought! Do you think that you have a good balance of your core values, or do you attribute a different order to them? I've always found it interesting how you put health really high on your list, which is especially understandable given your perspective on the fragility of life with your mother, but then you'll take all of that and put a business (where you've admitted to working extremely long hours on) and school in there, and I'm like, *covers eyes* Holy shit, this is too many plates to spin, and if one breaks, they could all break 😟. I'm also curious to see how compassion comes into all of this too, because I hope your compassionate towards yourself, which is difficult to do, even if it means delegating tasks in your business. I dunno, I'm just on the outside here, but I hope you can give some core values as much attention as others 😀 On a more light-hearted note, did you kill your cameraman in the second clip by having him film from the ground?! It looked like his knees were going to give out from all the kneeling 😂
hey barry thanks for the thoughtful comment! i wouldn't say i have an order to the values and different ones take priority depending on the situation. school and rareliquid has been quite busy but i do enjoy all of it so it all keeps me going. no need to worry about me! i take a lot of rest and breaks as needed also, camera man is fine haha
this was one of my first times filming a video outside so the production quality isn't great lol will work on making it better for future videos!
really like the format. It might be worth using a tripod next time to stabilise the vid. Audio is really good tho!
You are a legend and a gem. Solid, honest advice and not cliche thank you.
thank you sir~

if you're still learning and growing and not in a toxic work culture, then i don't think there's an issue with staying with the same firm / industry!
