This track is the 4th one from Suite Mexicaine Op.7.
This is a tribute to the tragic destiny of Maximilien, manipulated to become emperor of a country that just wanted to be freed from colonial occupation.
From the idyllic stay in the castle of Miramare (currently Slovenia), to the deluded coronation, the illusions of a welcoming population, the revolution and death.
The pianist is Mr Nikita Lukinov.
