This was helpful. Started using cracked pots a while ago but never gave it this much thought.
An honorable mention is the utility of holy pots in areas with undead. There's a lot of instances in this game where undead are used as adds for a larger enemy. Sometimes in closed boss arenas.
The holy pots are great for making short work of them in a jiffy if you don't want to fix up your weapon loadout for sacred order affinity.
Holy pots can definitely be great too! I debated on including that in this video as well as boluses, but I didn't want to push it over 10 mins. Looking back, pushing it that extra minute w/ some more item-facts def wouldn't have hurt. Thanks for throwing out the suggestion to others! Easy pin from me.
They might be tricky to use because if the enemies shape, but I bet they would do crazy damage to the death birds.
Some minor corrections to the video. Although pots will instantly inflict statuses on regulars, bosses may take 2 pots to be afflicted. If you want to use these status effects on bosses, I would recommend carrying 2 of each!

Iron Jar Aromatic can be used with Quickstep so ur not slowly walking everywhere, and in pvp you can use the chaos grab incantation with this combo with a pretty good success rate against non-spell casters.
Appreciate the additional advice! Yeah, BHS or Quickstep can pair great with ironjar for those who use it. I haven't gotten to try out any incantations yet but good to note!
Yes, and bear in mind you take massively increased damage to lightning while in ironjar state....don't use it when fighting enemies, bosses or PvP opponents using lightning or infused lightning weapons/AoW. Hurts big.

Honestly had no idea about how good those perfumes were and I'm making them TONIGHT. Same for the cracked pots for fire damage.

When crafting, be careful on your Arteria Leaves! I learned the hard way lol. They are the only rare material of the lot for these craftables, but thankfully there are farming locations for them later in the game.

Uplifting is great because it also provides the bubble shield to players nearby. I use it during cooperator fight to keep the host alive.
Sorry for the delay in response, but oh yeah I entirely forgot to include that fact! Even AI like your mimic tear using it near you also applies the buff to yourself & party. Pretty crazy

ALSO you can Freeze Pot Malenia's waterfowl dance. Just throw it at her when she jumps high in the air to interrupt waterfowl dance. (also you can just learn dodging pattern with rolling back and forth but throwing a pot just feels better).

No worries, even frequent Souls-Players are stumped by crafting or at least majorly ignore it. It's a new mechanic to all of us!
I personally also *never* touched many crafting items prior to making this vid, but I'd highly recommend newer players to craft these buffs because they can be very helpful! Especially Greases and Cracked Pots since they are very easy to craft compared to the ones that require Arteria Leaves!

Crystal darts are really easy! I'd have to go back and look, but I believe you can get an unlimited amount from rest-resetting at graces in caves. Some of the perfumes can be rough though since they take Arteria leaves which only get a reliable farming spot after Lyndell Capital
I don't know if I missed it, but the sleep pot was not mentioned and it is so good, a lot of enemies are affected By it, they use to fall sleep with just one throw, and even some bosses like the Godskin noble
I agree that sleep pot would have been a great one to include now that I've heard about it! I seem to have skipped the recipe books for sleep-related items entirely on my playthrough, so they weren't tested during the time I was making this video. I appreciate the advice though!

You also don't even need to use your own jars/perfumes if you have them equipped and summon a Mimic because your Mimic will spam them.

This is actually such good info, I remember in BotW there were so many recipes and buffs that you could craft and use that most people never even took advantage of (or accidentally doubled up on) so I've always kept my eye on ways you can maximize your consumable resources in open-world games.
I thought the same going into this game honestly! Loved Breathe of the Wild & tried to beat all "Trial of the Sword" on Master Mode which was ROUGH lol. Learned you could cook trees from each trial room into rock candy to bypass the heals u lose from ur inventory.
Since then I was like "Wait, what other crazy stuff can you do with this system?" And went more in-depth with it the rest of the game!

Hello, first time Elden player here. What consumables are good for mages??? I'm doing a int. build for my first playthrough and could use any advice you can give me. It was going fine until now that I have to fight Renalla.
3:00 I'm confused about this statement. When you say they're like flasks, does it mean you only have to craft them once and they regenerate like flasks do every time you die/teleport? Because I tried that and they didn't regenerate at all.
Love the content as I play my second play with all npc quest this time faith intel and consumable, what I would like to know with what status the damage laying ? Arcane ? How the damage are calculated. but you anime character get blurry I don’t know if I am the only one to have that like it has a double draw superposé animation

Imagine if you will, a pot that buffs my next flame attack by 25% while I'm buffing and dropping a seal to rip a fell gods blast.
I always use uplifting aromatic for buffing pvp matches
Yeah, I'd imagine that's great cause it opens up a whole wondrous slot since you no longer need opaline bubbletear w/ uplifting usage!
Hi there left a like and sub ive been really enjoying your vids mate, i have more than enough items to craft and all the cooking books but cant seem to craft anymore of the perfume jars any idea why.
Glad you enjoy the vids! If you can't craft anymore perfume then it probably means that you're at your bottle limit. Perfume bottles are a limited resource that you find throughout the game. You can only craft/hold the amount if perfume bottles that you currently have, so you are likely trying to craft above that limit!

Thanks for the advice! I could always tone down the brightness of the background so that it's not so bright if others have concerns with it as well. This is my first time doing all of this so I'm sure there's still a lot I could iron out

I wrote the script for this vid based off the tests I was able to do on my main account. And I seem to have skipped the Fevor cookbook series entirely on that playthrough. Perhaps I make a revised video down the line that includes that and other discoveries. I appreciate the advice!
I've noticed that some of the ingredients like Arteria leaf and sacremental buds don't respawn giving them a very limited practical use
You can farm arteria leaf from frost trolls

I'm honestly surprised how much these all just, click into many builds. I've slept on it hard and now I'm dedicating most of my builds to pots LOL
The problem with so many buffs is by the time you popped the last one, the first one already ended.
The buffs don't take *that* long to activate lol. However, the order does matter so perhaps I should included that going forward.
Most of these buffs last a full minute, with exalted flesh being the worst for duration at 30 seconds. So if one *were* to want to pop every buff they have prior, they should always *end* with exalted flesh, and never start with it. Aside from the greases, many are very easy to re-apply mid-fight. I'd say Uplifting and exalted are near the speed of chugging a heal.
I get what you're saying though! I personally don't make a habit of requiring so many buffs prior to fights. 3-minute Wondrous Flask buff is good enough for pretty much all situations. But some do, so this video is more for players this info can be useful for!
