  • This is quick and easy wy on how to cook ground beef with potatoes. It's delicious and perfect with rice. Enjoy!!!
    INGREDIENTS:
    2 lbs ground beef
    1/2 yellow onion
    1 tbsp minced garlic
    1 potato (small diced)
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tbsp dried basil
    1 tbsp cooking oil
    1 tsp chili powder

    Im gonna do this tonight, but im going to use ground turkey and chili seasoning instead of basil and beef. Ill still be using potatos and maybe ill throw some corn in woth a can of beans. Ill be turning mine into frito chili pie. Thank you for the inspiration my guy. I needed some help

    I'm kind of shocked, I have been making a similar dish and I never cook beef that long, I figured it'd dry out or burn, especially adding salt that early, I've got a lot to learn, I'll try making this soon, although without the Basil. Who just had basil?

      Basil is sweet and perfect for a light tasting compliment to garlic and onion. Basil is something that especially when fresh, doesnt need much else

    Just made this, taste really good I added chilli in mine cause I like it a little spicy 🌶, also if you have Mexican flour bread you can dip in the Sauce and eat it.

    Just tried this today, pretty great recipe! Would recommend using ground turkey instead of beef for those who want something a little leaner. Delicious either way

    There's this Mexican restaurant I grew up on that closed called LA Perlas. They made this with rice added also, and cheese..So good!! They was known for the signature beef, potatoes, and rice with cheese plates

    I’m a ground beef and potatoes girl. And, I love eating it with plain white Jasmine or Basmati rice. Thanks for sharing this delicious dish! PS Have you tried adding diced carrots and frozen peas to this dish?

    Just made this and was a little disappointed. Perhaps i used wrong seasoning for this go around. I'll tell you what saved it... I cooked green beans separately. Mixed them together with this dish on the plate and it brought much needed flavor.
    Regardless I appreciate the video and ideas! I was looking for ideas cooking with ground beef

    Instead of chili powder I used a packet of Taco seasoning. At the end I added some Mexican cheese blend and It turned out fantastic

      I started high stove temp, then after I covered it, I turned it low for 10 mins, then added potatoes for another 20 minutes. Let's say about 30-35 minutes. Happy cooking!😊

      @@ravipatel1979 when there is no more pinkish color, yes. On most stove tops, browning a lb of ground beef takes approximately 7-10 minutes.

      I didn't boil the potatoes, I cut them into smaller pieces so it will cook faster. Yes, just throw them in there.😊

      Nope, potatos were not cooked when i put them in. I let it cooked for 15 - 20 minutes together with the ground beef.

      Once you add the potatoes, turn your heat very low, cover and cook it slow so it won't burn. Sorry about yours!😁

    If you're just going to cook it with the potatoes being super picky about the pink on the beef doesn't make any sense. You clearly weren't trying to brown it, that much was made clear by putting a lid on it.

    This is definitely a poor man's meal! It's not one I would usually make except when I'm really hurting for groceries and only have these minimal ingredients. Even then, I would use cheese and a tortilla to make a tacoor burrito out of this. Add scrambled eggs for a bkfst taco. Still, I probably wouldn't even make this this. Maybe if you fry the potatoes separately so they're crispy....maybe.

      Because not everybody thinks onions are gross. I dont like taw onions but i LOVE cooked onions. Everyones taste buds are very different.
