Since one of the Supreme Kais revealed time rings, I'd argue that GT is canon as an alternate future. The reason for this is the fact that new rings are formed whenever the timeline is changed. Each of those extra rings can be accounted for... except for one. Future Trunks' timeline is already its own alternate future to the current timeline, so that's 1. Then there's the timeline when Cell killed Future Trunks, so that's 2. The 4th was the one that was caused by Zamatu changing the timeline. But we don't actually know what that future would've been. So what was the 3rd ring? There are 2 possibilities. The first could be the movies. But the individual movies are their own universes functionally, with a few exceptions. The other possibility is that the 3rd ring belongs to the GT timeline. Despite GT not being that great, it did bring concepts that were good ideas more or less. The Shadow Dragons weren't a bad idea. But SSJ4 was a great idea in my opinion. I have a fan theory that SSJ4 is actually the true Super Saiyan form. The original Super Saiyan mythos was that there was only one Saiyan previously to reach that state, and could only stay Super Saiyan while in the Ozaru form. So why is it that Super Saiyan is so easily accessible at this point if it's supposed to be so special? Because it's not the true Super Saiyan form. What are the requirements of SSJ4? The Ozaru form, which requires a tail. And Vegeta once said (or was it Raditz?) that a Saiyan's true power is from the tail. And something we have never seen was a Super Saiyan with a tail, not counting SSJ4. But I digress.
Out of every form of media Vegeta is by far the best character growth story ever. It's incredible to watch a series from beginning to end (it may take months) and reflect on the characters.
Toriyama didn't intend to end Dragon Ball with Frieza. Its one of those claims former editors have made but has never been backed up by Toriyama himself.
The good and bad of GT: Super Saiyan 4: Good I don't think the form should be classified as a super saiyan (much less implied to be the next step after 3), but the design itself is really cool and I like the idea of it being an alternative transformation. Kid Goku: Meh It felt like shameless pandering to the fans of the original Dragon Ball fans, and it didn't actually contribute anything to the story. It would be one thing if making Goku weaker actually provided an opportunity for characters that had been left behind in the power creep, but every arc still falls on Goku every time. Shadow Dragons: Good The actual designs were a bit too gimmick-centric for my taste, but the concept was though provoking, unique, and actually something that could believably keep up with the power creep. Black Star Dragon Balls: Bad This was the catalyst for the whole series. A reason to hunt for dragon balls in the great unknown once again. However it just comes across like it was shoe-horned in. They also have no part in the story past the initial arc, so the only thing they contribute to the story is a throwback arc with wasted potential. The Ending: Fantastic I honestly can't think of a better way to end any of the series than GT's ending. It matches with Goku's personality, it's satisfying, and leaves the franchise open to new stories that don't rely on the old characters.
SS4 was bad ass but I dont think the whole concept of the series wasnt used wisely... AT didnt have much role on it so of course it sucked, could be worse, it could have been the reason to why AT came back to contine the DB franchise (dragonball evolution)
The idea of corrupted dragons if all fine and good, dragons are a symbol of power, it makes sense as a final boss type situation... What I hated about GT was making Goku a child again and not giving character developments to the remainder of the cast... Why would you devolve your main character when he has children and grandchildren.... He's already childish in Nature, that was far and wide too much of a stretch....

"editor interference" Is it really interference when the initial idea is kind of shitty? Sounds like people telling Toriyama to do better saved the series every time
Toriyama has probably had his ass saved so many times by his colleagues. It's been known that he forgot many of his own characters existences, and wanted to do the opposite of what fans wanted many times. Probably would have been not as cool of a series if it weren't for his whole team. FYI, Cell Saga was the best saga
@@TakumiJoyconBoyz Cell may have been a bad idea, but if there was no Cell, there would have been no Cell in DBZ:Abridged, which is the funniest stuff known to mankind, and Cell is closely followed by Frieza in the list of best characters in that series.
Yep. Doesn't matter how shitty the original idea is, it's still editor inference. The word "Interference" may have a bad connotation attached, but it needn't always a bad thing in reality...
actually, that made DBZ what it is today. Had it not been the constant plot twists in a saga and how the villains changed or evolved, all the major sagas would be much worse.
You can see the original concept of Super Saiyan with the Lord Slug movie. There's a golden aura, like the final design, but his hair looks more like it's under the influence of Kaioken than the final version of Super Saiyan.
For starters, some things stated in GT contradicts A LOT of Z lore in quite poor ways. Also, they make claims in the show that their new villains are supposedly stronger than Z's villains, then proceed to have them display unimpressive power just feels so poor. Example, that General character with the silver transformation (can't remember his name), they say "He's stronger than Buu", but the way they kill him, can you imagine Buu dying to that attack? I can't. Think about what it took to kill Buu and compare it to how they killed that General character. I'll leave it at that, but can list more reasons if you want. I did kind of like Omega Shenron though, even though beings spawned from earth's Dragon Balls being that strong doesn't make sense, if you recall that Piccolo Daimao once destroyed Shenron (another example right there).
@@BurnTilDeath pretty sure super contradicts a lot and does a lot of things that dont make sense, but for some reason people still think thats better than gt like bullets are supposed to hurt them all of a sudden when they can survive planet destroying punches, one of the first things that happened to goku in the series was getting shot at his weakest point as a child - didnt hurt him... at least gt doesnt make lazy transformations
He literally didn't even tell us anything that was deleted just speculated that they may have been. Then told us that movies like the dead zone where Goku and Piccolo fight garlic jr, when before the saiyan saga they were enemies and nobody knew about Gohan and during Goku was dead and Gohan changed his look and learned to fight they then all went into space so again no time for it to happen, weren't canon and he never realized it until they announced it a few years ago. GT actually has Goku being serious when fighting his enemies. And super has him being an idiot while whole universes are being destroyed and he can't even be serious about protecting his own family from being wiped from existence.
I fell in love with the mangas 20 years ago, and it was my gateway into Japanese culture. Everything from Goku and Bulma's meeting up to the end of Buu's Saga will always be what's canon to me.

Ugg. Dumb! The only Angel that smiled was U9's, and that was in character because he loathes his GoD for being a failure. U10's angel was even sad! You are seeing a sinister scrapped plot where there is none, based on a wild misunderstanding of the evidence. Heck. Even if they all did smile as you incorrectly say, doing so could easily be explained with the final reveal that the Xenos/GP, and probably all the angels were hoping that the winner would wish to restore all the eliminated universes. Going in, U11 and U7 were the favorites, and both would be easily known to at least have good odds of chosing that wish based on the moral character of most of the fighters of those universes.
5:36 Wow... I guess this is another connection between Shadow the Hedgehog and Vegeta; Shadow was planned to be a one-off character until the people became huge fans of his and resulted in Shadow being brought back in Sonic Heroes, much like how Vegeta was meant to be a one-off villain in Z and fans loved him to the point of him staying, too.
Thats not why he slept. He fell asleep BEFORE the tournament, and got woken up by someone else to assist with moro on new namek. He didnt know that was going to be the case before he fell asleep....
Gohan has always been my favorite character. His temperament as a kid to only fight when absolutely necessary was something I was always able to relate to.
I've always wanted Krillin to take a bigger part in fights. He doesn't have.to best the big bads of the series, but I'm tired of seeing my dude get his ass kicked by the henchmen and lesser villains too.
I always thought the Shadow Dragons were a great final villain! Imagine the shock of something the main characters have always relied upon throughout the series suddenly turning on them! What are these guys talking about? Plus SSJ4 was cool!
The main problem with almost all the villians in Both Z and GT is that people just don't even try to get their point since, duh, they are villians. Dr. Gero - a man who lost like everything due to Goku destroying RRA (add all androids + Super 17 saga here). Cell - well, actually he is not an true villian if you think of it. The guy (I mean, bug) just is aiming to perfect himself ( And it just DOES NOT REMIND GOKU FOR A BIT, right???). Baby can also be counted as a payback for Saiyan actions. So the only like real villians are Frieza, Babidi (not even Buu, he is just a puppet got out of control), and, sorry to mention it, Garlic Jr. In Super we have Frieza AGAIN and, ok, one of the best sagas - Future Saga with Zamasu being an AWESOME villian... And that kinda it.. And, finally, BSDB saga, an epic way to close the series by showing that everything in the world has a price and having main character sacrificing himself and finally resting in peace. But instead we have Goku being selfish SOB throughout whole Super..
Goku went blonde to connect with the Europeans. His eyes went from dark to blue. Basically saying that whites are a superior race. Before anyone starts crying about me bringing up racism the story brought up race several times. (Vegeta)
Toriyama didn't want to end it after the Frieza saga. He just wrote all of the arcs as he came up with new ideas, so he made them all as if they were going to end, not planned.
I'd say the ssj4 transformation should be a saiyan hybrid base form where it fuses the oozaru and saiyan body together, to me I doesnt make sense to call it a super saiyan transformation with his hair black
"what if the Dragon Balls just shot out little dragons instead of granting wishes?" That might have completely changed Divinegon (aka Xenlon) in Dragon Quest 3. Sure, he wasn't a big part of Dragon Quest, but as an homage to Shenron, the ripple effect would have been felt in the DQ universe
Toriyama has said that the pressure from his editor during the Future Trunks/Cyborg/Android Saga and the Cell Saga. Forced Toriyama to never slack off or rest, but like the Saga's keep pushing the boundaries and story. Its why Toriyama considers the Future Trunks/Cyborg/Android Saga and the Cell Saga to be his best work. Since his editor forced Toriyama to summon his talent at will and create history.
I thought they would mention the fact that at the end of the Dragon Ball Minus portion of Brolly, Bardock is shown attacking with his armor all damaged, even though there was no on-screen battle.
Can we just point something huge out in the Dragon Ball world. Back in the Frieza Saga Mr. Popo made a wish to Shenron "I wish for all those slain by Frieza and his men to be REVIVED." But wait that would mean Plant Vegeta is back with all the Saiyan's. So this whole time in super Vegeta is trying to go to plant Salad (I don't know how to spell it) but yet his plant should be back to life along with Goku's father. I mean has no one pointed this out. No matter how many theories I hear this is never one.
I'm telling u, Cooler and Frieza are finally going to work together as brothers in arms and fight against Goku as revenge. Platinum Cooler and Golden Frieza.
"this is the inverse of the topic of this video, but we are still going to do it". Thanks for the narrator to put his best efforts to read his dumb text with conviction. Your job is not easy.
2. We have several confirmed statements from Toriyama of when he wanted to end the series and he never once mentioned ending it with Frieza. 4. Angels may have been smiling because they knew everyone would be coming back even though everyone was freaking out 5. we always knew the movies weren't canon. They don't fit in the timeline, except for bardock of course 6. Vegeta was revived long before the climax of the frieza battle. Given the dialogue of the characters with king kai, i seems Toriyama always intended to have them all revived. This is simply fan speculation. 7. freeza is based on what Akira thought monsters looked like as a kid, with some input from his editor 11. why wouldn't nappa and raditz fight? They. Are. Saiyans. They fight and train all the time. Past segment and Bardock's story out of place? Not sure what you mean since these scenes cover vegeta, goku, and broly at that time to show all their origins growing up around the same time. How is goku's origin not relevant? It's completely related. 14. you showed alot of ssj4 when describing GT being GT. Most fans love ssj4. It's just that's the only part of GT that was enjoyable.
12:44 Since in Dragon Ball Super during the "Future Trunks Arc", Trunks & Wiss explain about how different outcomes create different timelines, this would technically make Dragon Ball GT somewhat canon again as an alternate timeline as seen in episode 289 of Dragon Ball Z. Another fact that supports this is that in Dragon Ball Super, emperor Pilaf, Mai, & Shu are introduce as children without any explanation as to why since they were originally last seen as fully grown adults, this is because in the Dragon Ball Z manga, the Pilaf gang at some point during early Android saga they manage to gather all the dragon balls and make a wish to the dragon to be young again that unintentionally turns the three of them into babies, however that was never shown in the Dragon Ball Z anime therefore it never happened which led them to grow old as seen in GT. Because of this one factor in the story, this would mean that the Dragon Ball Z that we watched on TV is in fact the GT timeline and the Super timeline being actually the manga timeline. This also would explain why in Super, both Bulma's sister, Tights, and the Galactic Patrol, Jaco, make their anime debut and are never mentioned in DBZ. So with that now being a fact just as how it is explained in DBSuper by both Future Trunks and Wiss, this would mean that the GT timeline would not actually have any affect on Dragon Ball Super's timeline since they are completely different from one another. So technically Dragon Ball GT is not fully non canon, it is just an alternate outcome of Dragon Ball's future. (13:31) Basically one timeline has the Pilaf gang wish to the dragon and get turn into babies which is why later they are brought back into the anime as children, but in the other one they never got to make that wish therefore they come back into the anime as elderly. That is what split the the timeline into two, one being DBSuper and the other being DBGT, so is not fully accurate to say that GT is fully non canon.
Now Frieza can go get his brother and get him to beat up Goku. But the golden Frieza idea was stolen from Cooler. Frieza and King Cold created new forms as they got stronger to hide their power. But Cooler thought that that was stupid and always stayed in his first form never creating weaker forms and eventually found that he could transform into a more powerful form.

@@raze9450 He's making a joke of the thumbnail. He's saying how mad he would be if he said that. Lol
Finally someone said what everyone was thinking! You rock!!
Out of every form of media Vegeta is by far the best character growth story ever. It's incredible to watch a series from beginning to end (it may take months) and reflect on the characters.

You should check out the manga, they did him some justice there. Same with Kayle. Apparently she is a badass.
He was fighting an extremely powerful enemy in his universe, he was not interested in fighting in the tournament, so he essentially was pouting
How bout reading the manga. They do that
Or stop cucking Vegeta?
Evolution + Training = Jiren.
Lack of a need to further himself when he’s top 10 strongest character, and there goes his need for a personality.
The good and bad of GT:
Super Saiyan 4: Good
I don't think the form should be classified as a super saiyan (much less implied to be the next step after 3), but the design itself is really cool and I like the idea of it being an alternative transformation.
Kid Goku: Meh
It felt like shameless pandering to the fans of the original Dragon Ball fans, and it didn't actually contribute anything to the story. It would be one thing if making Goku weaker actually provided an opportunity for characters that had been left behind in the power creep, but every arc still falls on Goku every time.
Shadow Dragons: Good
The actual designs were a bit too gimmick-centric for my taste, but the concept was though provoking, unique, and actually something that could believably keep up with the power creep.
Black Star Dragon Balls: Bad
This was the catalyst for the whole series. A reason to hunt for dragon balls in the great unknown once again. However it just comes across like it was shoe-horned in. They also have no part in the story past the initial arc, so the only thing they contribute to the story is a throwback arc with wasted potential.
The Ending: Fantastic
I honestly can't think of a better way to end any of the series than GT's ending. It matches with Goku's personality, it's satisfying, and leaves the franchise open to new stories that don't rely on the old characters.
What about Baby arc?
@@obliviongigan6360 baby was probaboy the best villain
Bro I don't care what people think about Dragon Ball GT I honestly Loved the series
Same, the only part I truly hated was Baby. Dragons were definitely a low point in the series but it wasn't awful.
SS4 was bad ass but I dont think the whole concept of the series wasnt used wisely... AT didnt have much role on it so of course it sucked, could be worse, it could have been the reason to why AT came back to contine the DB franchise (dragonball evolution)
So true
The idea of corrupted dragons if all fine and good, dragons are a symbol of power, it makes sense as a final boss type situation... What I hated about GT was making Goku a child again and not giving character developments to the remainder of the cast... Why would you devolve your main character when he has children and grandchildren.... He's already childish in Nature, that was far and wide too much of a stretch....

Is it really interference when the initial idea is kind of shitty? Sounds like people telling Toriyama to do better saved the series every time
I disagree, since I thought Cell was the worst part of the series.
In the thumbnail Zeno looks like koro-sensei when he’s mad
YES, I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT!
Idk what was so bad about dragon ball GT it was pretty cool to me and i thoght the thumbnail was going to be in the video

GT actually has Goku being serious when fighting his enemies. And super has him being an idiot while whole universes are being destroyed and he can't even be serious about protecting his own family from being wiped from existence.
@@AXEHoleJack that is an excellent observation. The stakes felt higher in GT when only the planet was at stake compared to universal destruction

Hey I liked the Shadow Dragons🤨
Johan Stenfelt and I liked SSJ 4, who actually didn’t thought?
The best thing that came out of GT was The design of super sayan four Goku and The Design of Android 17!
I'd say the ssj4 transformation should be a saiyan hybrid base form where it fuses the oozaru and saiyan body together, to me I doesnt make sense to call it a super saiyan transformation with his hair black

Toriyama has said that the pressure from his editor during the Future Trunks/Cyborg/Android Saga and the Cell Saga. Forced Toriyama to never slack off or rest, but like the Saga's keep pushing the boundaries and story.
No one said the angels have to like the Universe that they oversee
2. We have several confirmed statements from Toriyama of when he wanted to end the series and he never once mentioned ending it with Frieza.
4. Angels may have been smiling because they knew everyone would be coming back even though everyone was freaking out
5. we always knew the movies weren't canon. They don't fit in the timeline, except for bardock of course
6. Vegeta was revived long before the climax of the frieza battle. Given the dialogue of the characters with king kai, i seems Toriyama always intended to have them all revived. This is simply fan speculation.
7. freeza is based on what Akira thought monsters looked like as a kid, with some input from his editor
11. why wouldn't nappa and raditz fight? They. Are.
Basically one timeline has the Pilaf gang wish to the dragon and get turn into babies which is why later they are brought back into the anime as children, but in the other one they never got to make that wish therefore they come back into the anime as elderly. That is what split the the timeline into two, one being DBSuper and the other being DBGT, so is not fully accurate to say that GT is fully non canon.
