I just loved the Oracles of Ages and Seasons. But the Oracle of Seasons more, as you've stated. I've played every game in the gameboy because it has an emulator using a PC and we only had gameboys back then. It's the only game that I really liked, story, variety of equipment, characters, places, etc. I've played minish cap, link to the past, ocarina of time, etc. but I still loved the oracle series more. 😅
Yeah I really love it and since Nintendo has stated they're never going back on the open air formula I pray they one day team up with a 3rd party to make a more classic Zelda once again and considering the obscene amount TOTK has sold it's likely our only hope of a more old school Zelda.
I really love Nintendo's big three, Mario Zelda and Metroid and I feel like Metroid had a better GBA run than Zelda did. I also love the Minish Cap but I really love Fusion and Zero Mission just a little more, plus I just don't like the Multiplayer Zelda games in general, Zelda thrives as a one Player experience. It doesn't even end there though, I like Super Metroid more than a Link to the Past and ALTTP is my favorite Zelda game.
The only reason Four Swords Adventures was so low on the list is because the writer never played it, likely at all but definitely never with three other people
I’ve played and 100% every Zelda game including FSA. Granted I did it solo but it def is where it deserves. Best multiplayer but that’s about it. Most of the puzzles were bland, combat was a null issue and honestly left no real impact. TFH and FS were at least hair pullingly irritating at times to remember, and while there def was fun missions, we are still talking about a series like the Legend of Zelda with literally no bad games, therefore the meh games end up being very low on the list
It’s disappointing that we only got one of these remade on the Switch -especially with how good Links Awaking remake turned out. Ages, Seasons, Link to the Past could all use some modern improvements.
Link to the Past I'm good on as ALBW was close enough in style but with a new story. I wouldn't deny a remake but that settles me. Oracle games however would have been great in the LA style. Unfortunately with Capcom owning them I don't see it happening
@zachtwilightwindwaker596 oh interesting. Heard that was the reason why Oracle/Minish games weren't touched. But I looked into it after your comment and now yeah I'm surprised they didn't remake them as a bundle. Seems silly to only do Links Awakening
While Oracle of Age and Oracle of Season have been brought back to Nintendo Switch, I would like them had similar remake treatment as Link’s Awakening.
@@mattiasolsson1523 If there is a third game, hopefully we get to see more interactions with Link and Zelda since she gives him a smooch at the end of the game.
I LOVE Four Swords Adventures. It’s honestly one of the most underrated Zeldas IMO. Also Imhave to disagree and say Spirit Tracks is better than Phantom Hourglass.
I Absolutely Love playing *The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords, Tir Force Heroes, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Oracles of Ages & Seasons, Link's Awakening, The Minish Cap, A Link Between Worlds and A Link to the Past* from my Childhood Years! These are my Most Favorite Epic *Legend of Zelda* 2D Games throughout the years of Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS Systems!
The first Zelda game I ever played was 2D! Oracle of Ages. Never finished it though, I'm glad it's available on the Switch. I haven't played all of the 2D games but A Link to the Past is my favorite for sure.
Spirit Tracks is the most underrated Zelda game. Having just replayed it too, it deserves its place up higher with the likes of Minish Cap & A Link Between Worlds. If it were remade with regular controls and a faster train, it’s top tier content. Four Swords Adventures is also overlooked, but I’m glad it was at least placed above the other multiplayer titles. Not only does the game operate well in single player, but it actually feels like a full fledged Zelda adventure (with some short comings) whereas the other two multiplayer titles feel more like clunky spin offs.
So there’s leaks of a 3DS Zelda game remake, and please tell me I’m not the only one who wants it to be A Link Between Worlds and not another Ocarina of Time HD?
After playing the Minish Cap for the very first time on NSO last year, it is hands down my favorite Zelda game! I don’t understand why it’s not talked about as much. Such a great game 🙌🏾
Well i gotta admit, i have a soft heart with oracles since it's my first zelda game and a game i played a lot and beat only once when i was a kid. I feel brainy when i get the puzzles done since YT ain't a thing that time. My 2nd pick was awakening then minish cap or link between worlds.
Haven’t played the four swords games or triforce heroes but here’s my list of the others: 1. Link to the Past 2. Link Between Worlds 3. Links Awakening 4. Minish Cap 5. Phantom Hourglass 6. Oracle of Ages 7. Oracle of Seasons 8. Legend of Zelda 9. Spirit Tracks 10. Adventure of Link
Still have my og setup from back in the day and play it with friends or family every couple years. 1x Wii, 4x GameCubes, 4x controllers, 4x Gameboy Players, 4x Gameboy-GameCube Link cables, 5x tvs. So glad I have the setup so people can actually experience the game the way it was meant to be played.
I agree with Link to the Past and Link between Worlds they are my favorite 2D Zelda games and my favorite 3D Zelda games are Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. When it come to the newer Zelda games I like Breath of the Wild and it's spin off Age of Calamity.
Also, Triforce Heroes' final boss is practically impossible solo or with online randos. You need direct cooperation and communication with others to beat it.
In my opinion, 1st is Link's Awakening, 2nd ALTTP, 3rd ALBW, 4th Oracle of Ages, 5th Oracle of Seasons, 6th Adventure of Link, 7th Spirit Tracks, 8th Phantom Hourglass, 9th Minish Cap, 10th Zelda 1, 11th Tri-force Heroes, 12th Four Swords Adventures, and 13th is Four Swords.
Ages was my first Zelda game as a kid, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I definitely preferred (and still do!) it over Seasons, but I’ve always enjoyed puzzles more than fighting anyway.
I appreciate that this list doesn't completely bash the oracle games, but I still think it's very debatable which of the first three handheld Zeldas are best. The best way to look at Imo is this: 6: Original colorless Link's Awakening. 5: Link's Awakening DX 4: Oracle of Ages 3: Oracle of Seasons 2: Link's Awakening remake 1: Oracles played together (any order)
Minish cap was the first Zelda game I played as I wasn’t allowed to play Zelda before that, my grandma considered it to be too violent. So I never grew up playing OOT or MM. imho minish cap deserves a remake like links awakening. The story is interesting, the soundtrack is great, the dungeons are pretty well made, the bosses are fun to beat. If I were in charge of the remake I would probably make it a fusion of 3D and 2D graphics. Not only would the art style be refined, everything would be revamped visually. Colours would pop, animations would be more detailed and exciting but still keeping the feel of the original, But the standout feature of it would be the ability to explore entirely new areas via the shrinking mechanic. What used to be just a simple top down and basic idea would become a whole fresh experience. New 3D-like areas to explore with link as a miniature hero. New obstacles, treasures to find and secrets. For the first time you’d be able to truely experience hyrule from the eyes of a minish. For example: grass would be tall as trees to link, rocks are now canyons, puddles become lakes, small streams become rivers. Giant raindrops the size of boulders you have to avoid to get to the 2nd dungeon becomes reality. How this would look exactly or how it could be done I’m not sure but the concept is really interesting. - Also just because I like day and night cycles in games, it would get one also which would effect some things in games and look visually stunning. I would also add a few other fun things like new mini games to play. - Kinstones would function the same but maybe more rewards added to the map. Boss fights would function the same but with revamped visuals for stunning epic battles. - Maybe even a special dungeon for multiplayer taking inspiration from four sword adventures, twilight Princess trials dungeon. - ability to collect full 3D figurines of all sorts of creatures and characters. -maybe a hard mode after you beat the game.
1) Oracle of Ages 2) Oracle of Seasons 3) Minish Cap 4) A Link Between Worlds 5) A Link to the Past 6) Link's Awakening 7) Four Swords Adventures 8) Four Swords 9) Spirit Tracks 10) Phantom Hourglass 11) Triforce Heroes 12) Zelda 1 13) Adventure of Link
to me I would rather put Spirt Track higher than Phantom Hourglass just because of lots of reasons why like I kind of love the game’s art style more I feel like it is a lot more polished than Phantom Hourglass and I of course love the game’s music more and I love than you can unlock and have Link actually wear his own train engineer outfit later on in the game and how you get to team up with Zelda making Link’s relationship with her more meaningful and how it builds up more on NPCS whole interactions you can actually make them happy and more things to add how in actually one of those Zelda games where you can actually do all the boss fights again without restarting the profile file again
and also I love all the characters and NPCS a lot more than all the ones in Phantom Hourglass and also because Sprite Tracks is the first Zelda game I played after that was Phantom Hourglass and is the second Zelda game I finished after I finished Phantom Hourglass first
and also I haven’t played Link to the Past yet so to me I would rather say A Link Between Worlds more and I would put Link Awakening first place if we’re counting the 2019 switch remake separately than the switch one would be first place and then the two original ones on fourth place
My list would be: 13. Four Swords - D 12. The Adventure of Link - C 11. The Legend of Zelda - C 10. Four Swords Adventures - C 9. Tri-Force Heroes - B 8. Phantom Hourglass - B 7. Oracle of Seasons - A 6. Link's Awakening - A 5. Spirit Tracks - A 4. The Minish Cap - A 3. A Link to the Past - S 2. A Link Between Worlds - S 1. Oracle of Ages - S
I had no expectation when I first started up Link between worlds, my god, that game is amazing, 100% Masterpiece, if you're Zelda fan and never played it, please play it, it's Soo good
I think the first two Zelda games are the worst. Triforce Heroes is not worth playing alone. The single player experience sucks which is shocking since it was made after Four Swords Adventures. What the hell happened? Was it too much to have the doppels actually follow you? Online is great if you didn't have lag. I barely had a proper multiplayer experience. Does local multiplayer still work? I hate Adventure of Link because it's too damn hard. I place Spirit Tracks above Phantom Hourglass. Fuck the Temple of the Ocean King. Ages and Seasons should be much higher on the list. Ages is better than Seasons. Link's Awakening is not better than the Oracle games. I think Ages and Seasons is the best.
I would have swapped Ages with Seasons as I preferred Ages. Don’t get me wrong Seasons is great but I’m guessing the writer still has an aversion to water temples/dungeons 🤨

I can never take anyone that ranks Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks so low seriously. They're great games. To this day, they're still two of the best 2D Zelda games.
My top 10: 🛡️⚔️ #1 A Link To The Past #2 Link’s Awakening #3 A Link Between Worlds #4 Minish Cap #5 Legend of Zelda #6 Oracle of Seasons #7 Oracle of Ages #8 Phantom Hourglass #9 Spirit Tracks #10 Adventures of Link
A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess are three of my all-time favorite The Legend of Zelda games with Breath of the Wild being not too far behind.
my favorites are Minish Cap and Links Awakeining. But these are also the only ones I finished. I played the NES and SNES ones but never cared to finish them
The Legend of Zelda 1987, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, A Link to the Past, The Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Tri Force Heroes, A Link Between Worlds and Link's Awakening Remake are the 10 Best 2D Zelda games in my opinion, but the Only 2D Zelda games what I've played are A Link to the Past, The Minish Cap, A Link Between Worlds and Link's Awakening Remake, which my favourite are A Link Between Worlds and Link's Awakening Remake. I'm really interested of trying the First Zelda game, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Track and Tri Force Heroes, defienitily Spirit Track! 😆❤️🔥
Same but there next to each other on this list anyway so it's not a big deal. But link between worlds is a definite improvement to a link to the past in every way.
I love 2D Zelda because of how gracefully the visuals age to go along with the great gameplay. This is especially true of A Link To The Past. The game is over 30 years old for fuck's sake and yet it still looks and plays beautifully.
To each there own. Personally, oracle of the ages is number one. First 2d legend of zelda game I completed followed by the season one. Had both for my game boy colour
Minish Cap deserves a high placement. Gameplay wise and aesthetics alone it is one of the best. Story wise maybe not the best but it is still top tier.
I personally like Minish Cap the best, but that's because I get easily frustrated and can only handle the more difficult titles in short bursts. I think A Link to the Past is an objectively higher-quality game, if I'm being honest. But I enjoyed Minish Cap more.
Cant argue with the top 2 choices but people need to stop sleeping on Adventures of Link. Outside of the final dungeon(screw every drop floor and fake wall), it’s a good game. The PC edition fixed a lot of the issues of the original.
the only games in the Zelda Franchise I don't enjoy due to it being multiplayer are: 4 Swords, 4 Swords Adventures, & Triforce Heroes; everything else I enjoyed
My Ranking from Worst to Best is: Link Between Worlds Zelda CDi Trilogy (Technically The Worst Games, but LBW infuriates me so much more for being a Top Down Zelda on a system able to do Full 3D like the N64 Titles, its lazy Stamina Meter, and a God Awful Story that retcons what was established in the ending of LttP and acts as if the Oracle Titles and Link’s Awakening never happened.) Tri-Force Heroes Four Swords Spirit Tracks Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening Four Swords Adventures Adventure of Link Minish Cap Phantom Hourglass The Oracle Duology Link to the Past
I get it, but it's always sad to see Zelda II that far down on the list. I think the combat is fantastic and it was a great sequel Even with all its differences
Incorrect opinion. Anybody who's played Four Swords Adventures the way it was intended (four players) can tell you it was a much better game than the compromises made by the single player side mode. You can't say EverQuest was a bad game if you only ever played on a dead server.

The Legend of Zelda Spirit Track is the Best 2D Zelda game! 🚂👻
Link’s Awakening has one of the best stories in the entire franchise and A Link To The Past has amazing music and introduced the iconic Master Sword.
A Link to the Past

My first Zelda game was A Link Between Worlds. Such an amazing game.
Minish Cap is probably my favorite 2d zelda game although the og NES title is probably a close second.
Oh my god, finally a 2D Zelda Tier list that doesn’t massively meatride Minish Cap, I can’t believe it. It only heavily does it
A link between worlds is my favorite.

Very solid list
Here's what my list would be.
13) Triforce Heroes
12) Four Swords
11) Zelda II: TheAdventure of Link
10) Phantom Hourglass
9) Four Swords Adventure
8) Spirit Tracks
7) The Legend of Zelda
6) The Minish Cap
5) A Link Between Worlds
4) Oracle of Seasons
3) Oracle of Ages
2) Link's Awakening
1) A Link to the Past
No argument from me for 1 and 2.
I can never take anyone that ranks Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks so low seriously. They're great games. To this day, they're still two of the best 2D Zelda games.
My top 10: 🛡️⚔️
#1 A Link To The Past
#2 Link’s Awakening
#3 A Link Between Worlds
#4 Minish Cap
#5 Legend of Zelda
#6 Oracle of Seasons
#7 Oracle of Ages
#8 Phantom Hourglass
#9 Spirit Tracks
#10 Adventures of Link
A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Twilight Princess are three of my all-time favorite The Legend of Zelda games with Breath of the Wild being not too far behind.
my favorites are Minish Cap and Links Awakeining. But these are also the only ones I finished. I played the NES and SNES ones but never cared to finish them
Most feedback I’ve seen rate seasons over ages but I preferred ages myself tbh. Both awesome though!
i would have put ALBW first and ALTTP second though
Same but there next to each other on this list anyway so it's not a big deal. But link between worlds is a definite improvement to a link to the past in every way.
I love 2D Zelda because of how gracefully the visuals age to go along with the great gameplay. This is especially true of A Link To The Past. The game is over 30 years old for fuck's sake and yet it still looks and plays beautifully.
Minish Cap, Link Between Worlds and Link's Awakening my top 3
Wonderful!
I love between worlds. The first 2D one I beat. I enjoyed it very much.
To each there own. Personally, oracle of the ages is number one. First 2d legend of zelda game I completed followed by the season one. Had both for my game boy colour
2d Zelda never gets enough attention it only has one remake and hasn’t had a new game in nearly 10 years
Minish Cap deserves a high placement. Gameplay wise and aesthetics alone it is one of the best. Story wise maybe not the best but it is still top tier.
For me, it will always be Link to the Past. That game changed me back then.
A Link Between Worlds is my fav! ❤
I love a link to the past so much! A link between worlds can not compare!
Cool Video.
Hoping we get remakes of the Oracle games on the Switch
lol for a sec there I thought he was putting minish cap at the bottom.
Mine are:
Spirit Tracks
A link between worlds
Link's Awakening
Spirit tracks is way better than phantom hourglass smh. Still loved it but not as much as ST
I'd switch places between Phantom and Spirit
Link in time my jam
Zelda games is awesome
Rank Every 3D Zelda Game Next, Or Even Do A Top 20 Zelda Games Of All Time, Or A Top 20 Mario Games
I love the minish cap
TFH is still easy to play online as a 3Ds is incredibly easy to hack and put pretendo on.
Minish Cap and A Link to the Past tie first for me.
Link to the past is great but I personally prefer Minish Cap
Myne is the minish cap
Clicked this video to make sure A Link to the Past was #1. All is right with the world.
The Cdi Zelda games aren't even worth mentioning. LOL. Great list .
I still play minnish cap on my phone.
Watchmojo nailing it putting Seasons over Ages.
Not me learning you can dash to open bomb walls after 30 years and countless hours playing/watching aLttP 😅
My Ranking from Worst to Best is:
Link Between Worlds
Zelda CDi Trilogy (Technically The Worst Games, but LBW infuriates me so much more for being a Top Down Zelda on a system able to do Full 3D like the N64 Titles, its lazy Stamina Meter, and a God Awful Story that retcons what was established in the ending of LttP and acts as if the Oracle Titles and Link’s Awakening never happened.)
Tri-Force Heroes
Four Swords
Spirit Tracks
Legend of Zelda
Link’s Awakening
Four Swords Adventures
Adventure of Link
Minish Cap
Phantom Hourglass
The Oracle Duology
Link to the Past
Ages is better than Seasons.
I get it, but it's always sad to see Zelda II that far down on the list. I think the combat is fantastic and it was a great sequel Even with all its differences
Pretty good list. Only thing I disagree with is having the Oracle games ahead of the original game.
I hope link between world n link to the past get remake for switch. Link awakening for switch is very cool
Incorrect opinion. Anybody who's played Four Swords Adventures the way it was intended (four players) can tell you it was a much better game than the compromises made by the single player side mode. You can't say EverQuest was a bad game if you only ever played on a dead server.
Links Awakening remake is the one for me
First! I love your content!
