  • Ghulam Nabi Azad Interview: Ghulam Nabi Azad, who quit the Congress last week, today said the party's top decision-making body, the Congress Working Committee, is "meaningless" today. He also slammed what he called "Rahul Gandhi's policy of attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi left, right and centre." "The present CWC is meaningless. Under Sonia Gandhi, there was only the CWC. But in the last 10 years, there have been 25 CWC members and 50 special invitees," Mr Azad told NDTV.

    Ghulam Nabi Azad is a true Congressman. He has shown courage to speak out the truth about Congress’ imminent demise. The structural weakness, not conducting elections and respecting party organisation and poor leadership by RG is exactly what made this country lack an opposition. The party needs to revamp everything to save itself.

    Whatever Azad has candidly expressed during his interview is absolutely correct. Now, it is the high time to make a thorough change in the Congress leadership and boot out worthless men like Joyram Ramash from the party if it wants to get back its earlier status as a national party worth mentioning. The present condition of the party shows that the chances of getting back its confidence under the leadership of Gandhi family are hardly possible and Azad's decision to quit Congress will once again remind the party to think over the issues well before the next LS elections. Otherwise, the party has no future and its decline is just a matter of time.

    • @sudhakarrao4907
      @sudhakarrao4907 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not so sure that GNA is right in assuming that that the Congress is a spent force yet in Indian national politics or for that matter in state related politics, provided RG gives a longer rope to youngsters like Kanhaiya Kumar to consult & strategize towards the demise of the BJP from the latter’s bullying position, besides humbly playing second fiddle for a while by encouragement to predominantly powerful state level parties which have emerged by nullifying the BJP’s brute majority strength in the Lok Sabha . Ghulam Nabi Azad for his own political future must unite his own intended new party in common cause with the GUPKAR conglomerate in the J&K region, otherwise by dilution of anti- BJP resistance in Jammu at further elections, he would bring his whole lot of conglomerate parties down in helpless heap to the wiles of the Modi Shah Delhi based BJP. No matter how annoyed you may seem with every other party by turn, you cannot afford to exist in an imagined vacuum of self centered comfort.

      Apart from Azad, everything is going right with congress? Suppose you were serving an organisation for 40-50 years and you are not taken seriously on matters concerning your company, what would you do? you would wait, watch make observations and then make a decision. That's what he did. When he realised no matter what he does, the leaders won't budge or ready to accept their failure. Not just him but all of G23 felt the same.
      RaGa even after 20-25 years is still in his learning phase... Thats because he doesn't understand politics. Not even P of politics. He's a child with a silver spoon that's it.
      Azad felt it's important to make a call now, so he made the call like it or not. Somebody who not only served congress but also sat and worked with Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi. He is an important man not to be mocked around. That's exactly what's happening with all G23 members.
      It was his self respect that made him make the decision. Simple.

    Gandhis can't run away from the state of Congress and for that matter, even the Opposition; they can't run away from the blame. However, the guys like Ghulam Nabi Azad also need to take the responsibility for where the Congress stands.
    He can't blame only the Gandhis! The guy depended upon them to be accommodated in Rajya Sabha and when the same couldn't be enabled he starts singing in a different tune!
    Even then, he had all the right to quit Congress but not send a five-page letter which spoke more about him and less about Gandhis!
    His plans in J&K over the next few months, as being talked about in the media, will clear the doubts about what has led to his walking out in a noisy manner, it seems, he will continue making comments against the Gandhis hoping that it gets finished sooner than later; I don't mean Gandhis haven't played their part in that--they are more responsible!

The letter of resignation, even if was critical of some people, should have been confidential not released to the public. I was posted in Kashmir know her and her people. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sandhu's key advisor was Pandit Dina Nath and his top Commander was Col. Ayodhya Prasad both Kashmiris. Extremely loyal and efficient. Azad is opposite. Ghulam Nabi Azad surely lacks loyalty. Is an opportunist with little genuine education. Rajiv Gandhi aided his rise. Azad is too stupid to be a plant of Congress. Indeed today Congress is corrupt and leaderless and BJP mostly un-educated and block-heads except may be Shri Rajnath Singh a balanced and an effective individual. Azad should have stayed with Congress and fought to reform it. India is now surely the third strongest military power after Russia and the USA, certainly stronger than a strongly Jewish backed China. We owe much to our founding fathers and Indirajiji for this and the brilliant Dr. Manmohan Singh gave our economy a big boost. The truth is Indiraji was one the greatest politicians of our time. Few of her achievements listed here- She had the Chinese bashed at Nathu La in 1967 and sent about 400 Chinese military personal in body bags back to China! Next Pakistan was fragmented by her in 1971 and the strong backer of Pakistan namely, a frightened China ran from the scene rather than help Pakistan. While the USA was immobilized. An advanced nuclear weapon in 1974 was blasted by her orders thus making India invincible. She got Siachen, Sikkim and parts of POK back to Bharat. Indiraji is the one who started the manufacture of missiles as will. She declared an emergency when absolutely necessary and stepped down when she lost the election. A true democrat, a true nationalist and a personality few can match on this planet. Her only major mistake was she attacked our temple when she had other options. She did not boast but achieved for India what few could for their country. She was thus disliked by Dr. Kissinger and much of the Jewish lobby.

How viciously, Late Rajeev Gandhi was vilified by Mr. Modi, actually he called him names 2) Mr. Azad may not join BJP, but he will try to benefit BJP by cutting votes which could otherwise have gone to Congress. So there are many ways to help BJP the way Mr. Owasi has been doing for BJP 3) On the question of Mr. Gahlot becoming president when he said that Mr. Gehlot cannot bring even a single vote to Congress, he should have been asked then who is there in the Congress deserving to become President. 4) He is attacking Rahul at a time when he is going on Yatra, so his motives are to discredit him so much that he does not succeed in whatever he does. No probing questions asked. Actually, problem with today's journalists are that they think they are very intelligent and get carried away by their grandiose thoughts, and in the process conduct the interviews very poorly.
