Using lots of conditioner, squish to condish, and using praying hands on soaking wet hair to put in curl cream has given me my nicest waves\curls yet! I think I might be needing a bit of a protein treatment as well though
Broooo this made me realize my hair needs the exact same thing. My curl/wave pattern is almost identical to yours, and same thing: lifeless and sad all of a sudden. Thank u so much
I love being on this curly hair journey with you! I am just starting out, and find you through your curly hair videos. The fact that you broke down the difference between protein and moisture overload is a huge game changer! I’ve tried looking that up in the past, but I never could figure out the difference with my hair, but now thanks to you, I do! Keep on rockin the curls girl! It’s doing wonders for you!!
I'm glad you figured out what was wrong with your hair, it is so inspiring bc I have been experiencing the same and now try to balance between protein and moisture! and also thank you for your channel, it helped me a lot when I started my curly transition!! 🥰🥰💓💓🦋🦋
I can’t believe it, we have the exact same hair texture. I’m a platinum blonde but I’m so TIRED of having damaged hair from all the bleach. It’s time to stop and go natural. Thank you for this video! 🤍
Using praying hands horizontally when putting in a styler and then taking a styling/wet brush through my 3a curls (and then scrunching) has made my curls a lot more defined (perfect ringlets so pretty).
Yay, glad you were able to figure out how to improve your hair's health! My wavy hair game changer is using a mousse. my hair is fine, gets weighed down easily, and needs a product with some hold to maintain my waves. I've been using Not Your Mother's mousse and I've been really enjoying it! I apply it after plopping for around 10-30 minutes
Heat protectant was definitely my hair game changer ! Also, just using less heat. You could literally rock any hair color, I am convinced. I bet black hair would look GORGEOUS on you !!
I legit know exactly what you’re talking about. I am dark brunette but bleached last year and no salons are open we in full lockdown again and my roots are so awful and I’m so done with the bleached dry hair vibe and recently been learning about the protein / moisture balance
The kinky curly curling custard is my holy grail, imo it’s great for wavy hair and it prioritizes clumping and smoothness and no frizz over hold, I like it like that though. A big game changer also was just like plopping, but kinda “guiding” the plop in the direction of your curl if that makes sense, so your curls don’t kinda fold over each other
The apohogee treatment definitely kick started my waves again. I think it even helped with my hair breaking. ALSO I love the Shea moisture Manuka honey protein power treatment. My hair luvs it.
Omg I love this video! Something that saved my hair was using different shampoos/conditioner each time I wash, I have one for hydration, one for nutrition (oil ingredients) and other with protein. That way my hair was balanced. Plus I fell if I use the same shampoo/ conditioner my hair get overload to that ingredients and is not effective anymore ❤️❤️🇧🇷
Shea moisture was one of the first brands I tried when I started the wavy/ curly journey and it did pretty good on my hair gave me good definition then when I started going blonde last January I switched to more high end products like MoroccanOil and by mid summer my hair had no defined wave pattern and I was taking care of it as well 😔 around November I did the reverse balayage toned the blonde down and started using Shea moisture products again and I can see my hair slowly getting it’s wavy/ curly pattern back it’s like you said being blonde is nice but it damages so much! Try the Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil strength and restore hair mask it has protein in it
my mom is a hairstylist and she uses virtue products! you should definitely check them out, probably the recovery shampoo and conditioner but i would definitely check them out!!
My biggest game changer was stopping silicones completely. My hair was the opposite to yours, in protein overload so it was just snapping off. Silicones were making it straight, heavy and dry. So, quitting silicones, adding moisture to my hair, quitting towel drying it and adding leave in and gel really helped out my hair very much.
The it’s a 10 hair mask is literally a game changer! It’s on the expensive side but it’s lasted me a really long time (got it In august) it literally saved my wavy hair
Maui Moisture the coconut shampoo and conditioner, Olaplex once a month, and for protein treatments I love the Elvive Full Resist Fragile Hair Masque 🥰 and for styling I love the Kinky Curly Curling Custard
I’ve got brown long naturally wavy hair, to the small of my back. I’ve always hated my hair, but as a mom, a wife, and all the other 🧢 that I wear I was tired of the upkeep to maintain the look I wanted. Since I was a teenager I bleached my hair blond or put highlights in my natural brown hair, plus blow dried my hair with a stiff bristled brush, and straightened my hair with a flat iron 😩. I done tons of damage FOR YEARS. Recently I am just tired of maintain the maintenances with all of that work just to keep my blond straight hair. My point is just accept ur natural hair it’s beautiful 😍. Thanks to this video I realize that I need to find a different shampoo and conditioner and I also have MOISTURE OVER LOAD IN MY HAIR!!! So that’s why my hair looks terrible and I’ve just been throwing it up in a messy bun. So thank you so so much for this information I’m going to go get a protein treatment this evening and put it in my hair tonight 🤞it works.
girl thank u sm. i recently rediscovered i have naturally wavy hair. i knew i had wavy hair when i was younger and my mother does as well but i just kinda didn’t realize that i should be treating my hair for the wavy hair i actually have. and now im kinda on a rejuvenating my natural hair kick lol. thank u sm
update: i was weak and used my wax rollers for a couple months and screwed up my hair bad. it was so freaking damaged. spent a month and a half going back to a very consistent routine and my hair is healthy again. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO HEAT AND TEMPTATIONS YALL
I recently got a hair dryer with a diffuser and it was a gamechanger for me. Before the hair dryer I would always let it airdry and that would just take ages. I still don't fully diffuse it so it doesn't get frizzy and loose shine. This way I get a lot more volume than when I air dry. But keeping the balance between protein and hydration is sooooo hard.
I figured that’s what it was. So glad you figured it out and was able to fix your hair. Mine is also so much better since I realized my hair was in moisture overload 💜✨
Taylor! Im from Mexico city and exactly the same happened to me! I let my hair grow healthy and last month i decided to bleach it, I have the same curl pattern as you and now it`s ruinned! I´ll order the protein treatment. You just saved my life!!!
I need to try a protein treatment! Since I turned 21 (I'm 24 now) my hair has gone through so many different phases and curl/wave patterns. My biggest game changer has honestly been using two turbies! One right after I get out of the shower to keep my hair from being super week and then another one to plop.
Hey Taylor, You should boil flax seeds for 15 min and use it's water on your hair after you get out of the bath OMG it's revolutionary, the result is amazing and it's organic and natural and it has a lot of benefits, I promise it's super great, I got my natural curls back after they went bad bc of constant hair bleaching. Boiled flax seeds can define the curls and maintain their structure.
Im just starting at the first pic phase. I have straightened my hair for 15 or more years. Finally wearing my waves at 38. I'm trying to learn about wavy hair and products. I am about to do Aphogee 2 step treatment . Your hair looks wonderful your thumbnail reminds me of Gisele except prettier face .
Hey! I'm having the same struggles too, been straighting my hair since the first day I started school. I just would like to know how your 2 step treatment worked out for you? I really want to try it
Try Shea moisture if you haven’t already! Also not your mother & Maui moisture have silicone free options! 😉 I’ve been using Eva NYC Mane Magic shampoo & conditioner, also love their hair mask! Haven’t tried out the new curly products they came out with last year yet
Your hair looks SOO good now, I love it! I am really excited to see how the shea moisture works on your hair, for me that was a really big life changer. My hair was always extremely frizzy and since I have been using shampoo and conditioner from aunt jackies and the shea moisture smoothie that you now have as well my hair has been so much better, I have also been using the denman brush which works wonders for me. always love your vids, love ✨✨
This video is exactly what I needed! I’ve been having the same problem with my hair. I can’t wait to try the protein treatment you got. Do you have an updated hair routine? You have the most gorgeous waves and I’d love to know exactly how you get them that way😊 They aren’t crunchy and look so soft!!
So I have 2C, fine, low density, high porosity hair. I stopped using heavy ass products and started using less amounts in my hair to not weigh down the curls! Right now I’m using a mix of the As I Am Coconut Cowash and the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo/conditioner depending on if I’m clarifying or just rewashing my hair 💕 I wash every 4 days, and I clarify only once a week! I also stopped bleaching my hair. My natural black hair is super cute and it looks much more shiny than when it was blonde! For my styling products I use the Curls Blueberry Bliss leave in, AC Re:Coil cream, and the Innersense I Create Lift Foam/Ouidad Climate Control Gel 💕 If you have fine, low density hair, STOP PUTTING LAYERS IN YOUR HAIR!!!! Your hair turns see through and weird, you have random “bald spots” from your hair not being weighed down enough to cover your scalp, and it looks SO AWFUL 😭 if your hair is long you can get away with long layers but PLEASE don’t cut any layers above your ear. It will save you the time and agony of trying to grow them back out because the back of your head look ridiculous 💀💀💀
I have had the same products going back and forth with silicones, ultimately I cut them out for about a year now because long term results with silicone were very drying. I recommend you try Curlsmith products, very pricey but a lifesaver on my hair
yess taylor you and your hair are looking great!! glad you liked the shea moisture and stop using moroccan oil, I knew the silicones in there has something to do with your bad hair.. I would love to see an updated hair routine like the one u did a few months ago!! keep us updated and i u want restart doing wavy hair content, I loved ur video sm💕 btw I really liked shea moisture hydrate and repair protein powder treatment hair mask, is great
The biggest game changer for my hair has been the Inahsi Coconut Avocado Curl Defining Custard. I just got the Treluxe Hi! Definition Curl Enhancer Styling Gel and I can already tell this is going to take the game to another level!! 13/10 would recommend both these products.
Your best bet is try to see if your hair needs moisture or protein. If you can't tell, try to up the moisture in your routine, and see if you have moisture overload. If not congrats! If moisture overload a protein mask should balance your hair out 👍🏼
Thank you soooo much for this video. I saw it a few months ago but havent had a problem with my hair moinsture. But this morning I recognized my hair was suuuper stretchy and just looked aweful. So I jumpted on my youtube and looked up your video about it. You are a litteral life saver ❤️ thx you much! Love you 😭❤️
You can try using alovera gel, egg white and coconut oil for protein treatment it was great another alternative is yogurt and coconut oil . Even my hair looked really dull because of moisture over load there was no shine but after I used a protein hair mask my looked so much more shiny and healthier.
Shea Moisture’s Manuka Honey & Yogurt protein repair line. I used their shampoo, conditioner, and mask this morning after it was bleached and cut waaaay too short (IMO - I hate myself with short hair). It basically had stretched out. I kept putting moisture in it never understanding the whole protein thing. Very clearly my hair needed protein because it’s so light and bouncy and super curly today. Less frizz. Now I feel more confident to live through the short hair while it grows back out. At least I take biotin so it won’t take too long to grow.
Using a hair mask everytime i shower was a game changer, also diet is very very important,i started incorporating more vitamins&proteins and stuff into my diet and my hair looks better in between washes and it doesn't dry as much as it used to be,hair masks everytime i shower is a game changer too,it helps repair ur hair eventually and rejuvenate it,ur curls will thank u ! Also im glad ur hair is now healthier Tay
you can also use coconut oil right before you wash your hair, the drier your hair type is, leave it in for longer. coconut oil is a good source of protein
Biggest hair changer for me was no longer using heat to style my hair. I always struggled with my hair because I thought it was wavy with a lot of frizz. I haven’t used heat in 3 years and it turns out my natural hair is actually straight and looks so much healthier now. No more split ends and breakage
I just went through this my hair wouldn’t curl up 😢 I thought it was hella more damaged all the sudden 😶😑 but protein fasho fixed the situation, btw your hair is gorgeous!
Biggest game changer... starting Curly Girl Method and figuring out that my hair was overloaded with protein and protein/aloe/coconut sensitive. Going to protein free products has been amazing. I realize at some point I'll need to add protein (even though I do take supplements), I haven't needed it yet!
OMG i tried this out for a bit and my very wavy hair came back! Back when I was only a toddler my hair grew fast but it was curly like VERY curly but not coily. but for a bit i wondered if I could ever regain it back... but now I have and I feel so happy in myself!
My hair is quite similar to yours (minus the bleach) and I've been using Only Curls London styling products and condition for about 4 months and it SAVED ME. Honestly, they are amazing and last for ages! If you're looking to try something new I'd give them a go x
i started out with balayage and also got addicted to bleach and getting blonder and blonder so yes, i became platinum but fried off all my hair since I'm naturally so dark, my hair is almost black!!! 0/10 recommend the blonde is NOT worth it ladies bc ur hair will not look good/healthy, and i was suuuuupeer insecure bout it, olaplaex, hair masks, washing your hair once or twice a week (u can train ur hair to not get super greasy after a while of not washing it too much) and finishing with cold water to seal the hair cuticles !!!
I have burn my hair in flat iron . I have damaged my ringlets my curls completely . I am buy these products first thing in morning I really really hope to regain my hair and i will update you girl soon.
Like you, I figured out my hair needed protein. So, I use the curl smith protein line. I use one styler with protein and one with moisture in it. I did just buy the morrocanoil cream and mousse. We’ll see how they go. Shampoo and conditioner I use the Rizo’s Curls for my 2b/2c hair. I also do a deep conditioning treatment once every other week with my fine wavy hair and it seems to be happy.
Curlsmith Bond Salve treatment is a bond builder like Olaplex, but also has protein in it. It helps with my waves and curl definition. I totally recommend it 😊
a tip that really helped me is right after you wash your hair, make sure your hair is sopping wet and then apply a curl cream and then a curl gel. it works so much better if your hair is soaking wet.
I saw that video where u mentioned you didn't know what was wrong and commented (like many others lol) that it looked like moisture overload. Glad your hair is back!
I started using products with protein for styling and it helped alot. for example, ag recoil curl activator, cake mousse or ecoslay orange marmalade saved my hair.
using hask products really saved my hair. i have extremely over processed hair because i bleached it a million times. the argan oil repairing hask shampoo and conditioner, plus the coconut oil hask hair mask really revived my hair
Putting my styling products on wet hair instead of towel dried hair. I did. It believe it would make a difference, but it’s definitely helped with definition
Using lots of conditioner, squish to condish, and using praying hands on soaking wet hair to put in curl cream has given me my nicest waves\curls yet! I think I might be needing a bit of a protein treatment as well though
Annnd wet plop! That's something really helpful!
Can you explain more on how you do that please
M can
Which is the best conditioner for wavy hair?
Broooo this made me realize my hair needs the exact same thing. My curl/wave pattern is almost identical to yours, and same thing: lifeless and sad all of a sudden. Thank u so much
how can someone ignore how naturally pretty she is , love u gorge
The maui moisture shampoo and conditioner for dry, damaged hair really helped me. My hair looks so much better now
Hi! Which Maui line is this?
I found it at Walmart and also saw it on amazon. It's a purple/pink bottle
It has formaldehyde in it. Don’t use it
Really? I didn't even read the ingredients so thx for sharing
@@aubreygriess5280 what is formaldehyde? I use Maui for dry hair (the blue bottle) and it works well 🤷🏽♀️

my two biggest game-changers were diffusing until my hair was dry and scrunching my conditioner in.
Wow really ? How much conditions do you scrunch in ? And do you have a gel cast that you brave with the conditioner?

You could get moisture overload if you sleep with wet hair!
Im happy that you figured out your hair needs, have a wonderful day

Using a hair mask everytime i shower was a game changer, also diet is very very important,i started incorporating more vitamins&proteins and stuff into my diet and my hair looks better in between washes and it doesn't dry as much as it used to be,hair masks everytime i shower is a game changer too,it helps repair ur hair eventually and rejuvenate it,ur curls will thank u ! Also im glad ur hair is now healthier Tay
you can also use coconut oil right before you wash your hair, the drier your hair type is, leave it in for longer. coconut oil is a good source of protein
Your hair colour is fantastic !!
I love all your hair care videos! They really help me
Biggest hair changer for me was no longer using heat to style my hair. I always struggled with my hair because I thought it was wavy with a lot of frizz. I haven’t used heat in 3 years and it turns out my natural hair is actually straight and looks so much healthier now. No more split ends and breakage
Glad it worked out for you! How did you manage with the frizz? I have wavy with a lot of frizz. I have to use my straightener to control the frizz
What really helps my wavy hair is to first diffuse for about 10 mins on cold and low settings and then the rest on medium (both heat and power)
Thank you so much for the complete honesty and disclaimer at the end! I totally appreciate that! ♥️
I just went through this my hair wouldn’t curl up 😢 I thought it was hella more damaged all the sudden 😶😑 but protein fasho fixed the situation, btw your hair is gorgeous!
For me the keratin it’s a 10 leave in conditioner, and aveda pure abundance has always made my hair amazing. But they’re quite expensive
My hair def needs protein!!! I gotta try these out asap!!🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Actually the Moroccan oil intense curl cream was the biggest game changer for my hair. That being said that is the only Moroccan product I use.
Biggest game changer... starting Curly Girl Method and figuring out that my hair was overloaded with protein and protein/aloe/coconut sensitive. Going to protein free products has been amazing. I realize at some point I'll need to add protein (even though I do take supplements), I haven't needed it yet!
Yezzz thanks for this! You dropped this 👑 queen
awee! im so happy for you, your hair looks beautiful 💕💕💕
Omggg it loooks SOOOO PRETTYY
OMG i tried this out for a bit and my very wavy hair came back! Back when I was only a toddler my hair grew fast but it was curly like VERY curly but not coily. but for a bit i wondered if I could ever regain it back... but now I have and I feel so happy in myself!
You look like a doll! So pretty and the curls add that extra oomph 🌸
My hair is quite similar to yours (minus the bleach) and I've been using Only Curls London styling products and condition for about 4 months and it SAVED ME. Honestly, they are amazing and last for ages! If you're looking to try something new I'd give them a go x
camille rose honey leave in was a game changer for my low porosity hair
I literally thought about this video this morning 😍 and then booom you post it this evening❤️
i started out with balayage and also got addicted to bleach and getting blonder and blonder so yes, i became platinum but fried off all my hair since I'm naturally so dark, my hair is almost black!!!
I am buy these products first thing in morning
I really really hope to regain my hair and i will update you girl soon.
To everyone who see the rice water trend: don’t do it if you have protein sensitive hair, it will turn your hair into a broomstick texture 😂
When I did it my hair was so frizzy and undefined I was pretty disappointed ☹️
Like you, I figured out my hair needed protein. So, I use the curl smith protein line. I use one styler with protein and one with moisture in it. I did just buy the morrocanoil cream and mousse. We’ll see how they go. Shampoo and conditioner I use the Rizo’s Curls for my 2b/2c hair. I also do a deep conditioning treatment once every other week with my fine wavy hair and it seems to be happy.
Your hair color is amazing 😍
Curlsmith Bond Salve treatment is a bond builder like Olaplex, but also has protein in it. It helps with my waves and curl definition. I totally recommend it 😊
I have the EXACT same hair as you, and I've been wondering what's wrong with it. Thank you so much I'm gonna do this!!
You’re literally flawless without makeup!😍🤩
a tip that really helped me is right after you wash your hair, make sure your hair is sopping wet and then apply a curl cream and then a curl gel. it works so much better if your hair is soaking wet.
What brown toner did you use? Im in love with your current hair color!!
using hask products really saved my hair. i have extremely over processed hair because i bleached it a million times. the argan oil repairing hask shampoo and conditioner, plus the coconut oil hask hair mask really revived my hair
Putting my styling products on wet hair instead of towel dried hair. I did. It believe it would make a difference, but it’s definitely helped with definition
Brown hair looks really, really, good on you
