Fantastic, thorough review. I just decided to do some browsing for a Bluetooth speaker and ordered this one after watching your video. I really like the fact that you used different genres of music to test the sound as the focus on quite a few other videos is mainly on the bass output. The clarity sounds great, especially considering the price point. 1 quick question though, are you able to use the speaker while charging?

It's a very similar speaker but not quite the same X10. It seems to be referred to or listed as X10-1 and has a 13200mAh battery. Other than that, it doesn't appear to have any other notable differences - perhaps there's a different firmware/chipset, given that they cannot be paired with one another, but must be matched X10 to X10, or X10-1 to X10-1. Even with a lower capacity battery - it's still plenty of power and at $100 CAD a really good deal. 👍🏽
The speakers in the D8 are paper cones, not Titanium. They do however look and feel quite good for the price you're paying. Very stiff cones, and they stay fairly composed even on the hardest hitting tracks. Nice to see rubber surrounds on a budget build also. The speaker grill is metal, not plastic. I know this because I immediately removed the hideously boldly branded grill when I bought one 2 years back. Also, it only has 2 EQ settings, not 3. Indoor, and Outdoor. Outdoor has a flatter response and sounds fuller, crisper, and more open. Actually seems to boost bass slightly too. Indoor, to me, just sounds slightly muddy, and I never use it. What the Indoor EQ does is cut the mids and highs, giving the impression of more bass, but in fact is not more bass. Just makes it sound muddy, imo, which I see is what you preferred in your review. Can't fault you for that. To each their own as sound is very subjective. Each time you power the unit on, it defaults to Indoor, so you'll have to tap the EQ button once to switch to Outdoor if that's the setting you want. Would be nice if it just stayed on whatever the last EQ setting was. My biggest gripe with the D8 is that is very directional. If you are outdoors and not somewhat in front of the speaker, it kinda gets lost. Setting it up on a raised surface helps to some degree.

Try taking off phone case and try 3.5 cable. I have to do this with my phone if using that cable.🤷♂️
I have the bose soundlink 2. I love it and had for years. Regularly $129. On Amazon now for $79. Thats a steal!

I stuck with the d8 i needed something sturdy ill upgrade later but you can aslo play flac tracks with a min sd card.
