Hello, I am the salesperson of W-KING Bluetooth speakers. I like your TH-cam video very much. I have a 60W Bluetooth speaker that needs a test video. Can I give you one? thank you
We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning th-cam.com/users/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
I've had my W KING and am extremely happy with it. Use it at work and during rehearsals and it's super clear, also folks with NFC or using my phone as a bluetooth group makes it able for other people to share the speaker.
@@TheTechnologyMan hello I have one and the charging port is broken I'm trying to fix it and I can't seem to open it any help would be greatly appreciated
I own 2, paired they are outstanding. Range is remarkable. Separation was incredible. Had Mine separated by about 50ft and they filled the space with sound
Subscribed not least because I really appreciate your straightforward and no nonsense style. If only more TH-camrs would cut out the 5 minutes of "Heeeeeeeey, what's going on guys, remember to SMASH that like button and don't forget to subscribe" crap before even attempting to convey anything of substance and just get to the facts like you do! Your reviews have excellent structure and are informative. I'd love to see your opinions on the Anker Soundcore Flare / Flare+, do you have any plans to do so?
@@TheTechnologyMan I see the Flare 2 is now available. Happy to see the long overdue upgrade to USB-C for Anker speakers and Bluetooth 5.0 is a plus as well. Seems you can also connect up to 100 of them which for my use case is quite appealing. I think it could be the speaker for me, pending your possible review of course 😉
Good review .I’ve had the W King for 2 years now. Bru this speaker thumps. I work in a auto body shop and the boss has the JBL. The King has more bump for the money. I’ve used it everywhere vacation, camping, park next I’ll put it on my bike. Pretty durable. I’m definitely thinking about getting another one. Yeah the battery last pretty good too. Love the the fact it charges phones too and sound settings. I wish the straps were removable tho.
*It should be noted that when using two D8 units as a stereo pair, that the, "Master", unit will be the Left speaker, and the, "Slave", unit will be the Right speaker... This is unfortunately not found in the included instruction manual, nor indeed anywhere else that I have found... I only discovered this by listening to two separate albums that I know was mixed with the guitar on the left side, Van Halen II, and Made in Japan, by Deep Purple... It should also be noted that like with any other Bluetooth connected devices, there is a slight latency lag in processing the audio, so if you should watch videos on your device, such as a phone or computer, etc..., when linked via Bluetooth, the audio will lag the video by a few milliseconds, so the video and audio won't be synched up quite as good as when using the 3.5 audio input jack... Also..., the included 3.5" audio cables and USB C charging cables are incredibly short, so I would advise using other cables, or at least extention cables with the included cables...*
@@TheTechnologyMan I love it! Sound quality is on par or maybe even a bit better than my JBL Charge 4, I like that it has a built-in power bank, and that you can pair another one to it for stereo sound.
Thank you, yes, very useful! I first learned of the W-KING today, walking towards Times Square in NYC, when someone had one blasting, walking it the other direction. It sounded great! I agree, after watching your video, that it is much much louder than the JBL or the Samsung. Thanks again!
This was CLEARLY the most informative review of Bluetooth speakers I have ever heard. I am not a real audio file like many of your viewers may be. I was actually just looking for a good sound that was loud enough to party in my lanai pool area without spending the kind of my JBL (which I know to be a good product) charges. No one else even mentioned the watts. Perhaps there is something that represents volume and sound power better but I don't know what that is. I REALLY liked the actual volume comparisons.__ GREAT JOB!
I purchased a w king d8 a few days ago through Amazon for 75 bucks. Used it at work today. Played my music through Bluetooth at max volume and got 7 hours out of it. I was pretty impressed.
Beauty write-up my friend!! Little late to the party as I've had this for a while now (year+) but is there any config for lowering bass/mid/treble? More interested in bass as it is just too "thuddy" to use indoors paired to a projector. Thanks for any help. Well done my friend.
@@TheTechnologyMan have no idea of how long this cracking down price will last. it was still £79.99 last week. encourage every one who's looking around for Bluetooth speaker to shortlist this one. As it gives unbeaten value for money. I'm having a hard time because bought a Soundcore Motion+ last week.
@@Federico_A I prefer Motion+ because it uses newer technology, Bluetooth 5.0 and aptX. And it's in smaller size to suit my limited room space better. However the W-King seems very attractive because its better price, heavier base and being much louder. I would buy both if I had enough room in the house.
Great Review Thank you, I am now deciding Between W-King D8 and Anker Soundcore Motion Boom, what di you think has more Bass, for I am a Bass head person.
I had a refurbished Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3, the battery recently packed in and I sent it back to Amazon. It was still under warranty so I could get a replacement or a refund. I went for a refund (£144) and purchased this W-King speaker with less than half of the refund (I got it for £69.99 at the time as it had £10 off). (Btw, the W-King speaker currentpy still has a 10% off voucher for Amazon prime users) I was blown away by the quality, it blows the megaboom out the water ten times over in every aspect, it's simply a must buy! I'm so happy I didn't get a replacement! With the excess money from the refund, I got some new earphones. The earphones (true wireless) I had at the time were Sony's that cost, at retail price, around £200. I didn't find them very comfortable and the left one always fell out of my ear, with this, I thought I would get some new wireless earphones with the excess money from the refund after buying the W-King. As well as the Sony's, I've used a fair few different wireless earphones. I had a good search on Amazon and found the ENACFIRE F1 CVC 8.0's. They're the best wireless earphones I've ever had the pleasure of owning, they blow all the big brand out of the water such as apple earpods and so forth. They're £49.99 but are actually on offer at the moment for £39.99, I urge any wireless earphone/pod user to purchase them and try them out! On one full charge, the charging case for them charges them a total of 24 times, giving you 208 hours if playtime without having to charge the case once; and that's just the tip of the iceberg, the sound quality is amazing and noise cancellation is great. The W-King speaker and ENACFIRE F1 CVC 8.0s are the best hardware combo for your music needs when it comes to earphones and filling a room or space with music. I will leave a link for the earphones here, you can see for yourself that the customer reviews speak for themselves. Out of 1,430 reviews, they average 4.9/5 stars, it's rare to see anything on Amazon with a 4.9 that has over 1000 ratings. Here are the links for the speaker and the earphones, you are welcome: Earphones: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07TLMNN8B/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 Speaker: www.amazon.co.uk/W-KING-Bluetooth-Speaker-Waterproof-Subwoofer-Green/dp/B07KC136DZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=wking+speaker&qid=1593896526&sprefix=wking+s&sr=8-5
Great review thank you, I wonder have you tested the UE megablast and if so what is the loudness difference between the two, I got the mega blast after reading good reviews but was quite disappointed with the level of sound outdoors?
@@TheTechnologyMan thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated! Could I please ask you one more question about the w-king? How many metres away roughly would you think it would be before you couldn't hear it anymore?
I have purchased 3 of of these over the last few years. The first 2 were given as gifts and I have kept the third one. I have noticed that the price over the years has gone up by more than 25% of where it started. All of my purchases were when the speaker was at it's lowest price point around the $75 CDN. I had a request from my Aunt to get her a new one recently and have found the price to be $105 CDN roughly. I have found this to be a marvelous device, well put together, rugged, and the new models have the IPX6 rating. I use mine exclusively in the shower to either watch videos etc on my 10" tablet or listen to music from my phone. I have waterproof bags for both devices that have capacitive touch capabilities, which allows me to still control it. All in all, I loved your review as it was thorough and objective, I wanted to add a couple of tidbits. In a separate reply, I have asked if you can test the newer models with the TF card slot. I have also found a slight issue with the track control, which I am hoping is just me, and if you were to test the new devices, you would be able to prove/disprove that. Thank you very much.
Nice! Got the Charge 3, but this seems good for a little field raves in the summer where volume is more important than clarity ;) the logo on the grill is a bit obnoxious, but I can deal with that...
Just got a Bugani M83 from Amazon for $50. Has a 40 hour battery life. It’s amazing for the money they are 40 watts but you can run a pair like these. The bass is incredible I can feel it and the overall sound quality is awesome. Also it has a SD card slot so you can play right off a memory card.
I cut the strap off, and I noticed there was a bit of rattling when i turned the bass up and turned it to max volume so i took the front cover off and the plastic part covering the sides
Great review, the D8 is on my shortlist. I just have to mention that to reset the Bluetooth connections you put a paperclip in the first hole on the top, not in the jack socket D'oh.
I've had an Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3. Funnily enough, the battery packed in and I got a refund from Amazon very recently. I bought it refurbished at £144 and instead of getting a replacement, I searched around and found this W-king speaker. I can tell you for a fact that the W-King is FAR better and superior in probably every single aspect than the megaboom 3 and for half the price of a refurbished one (let alone a new one at full price). The excess money left me room to be able to purchase new earphones (true wireless), I went for the ENACFIRE F1's (CVC 8.0). They're amazing, for £49.99 (I got them on offer for £39.99) they're the best I've ever had and I have used £210 Sony's (true wireless) earphones and the Enacfire F1's (CVC 8.0) are better, I've used many different wireless earphones and the Enacfire F1's come out on top. I highly recommend if you bought the megaboom, do what I did, get a refund and buy the W-King and Enacfire F1's (CVC 8.0) with the refund. (If there is nothing wrong with the megaboom, just claim there is and get a full refund). I actually got the earphones for £39.99 at the time due to an offer and also got £10 off the W-King speaker. I still had money to spare from the megaboom refund that was from a refurbished one! Megaboom speakers are good but way too overpriced for what they are. The Enacfire earphones are actually on offer now for £39.99, I can assure you they won't let you down (if you're in need of any form or upgrade for earphones/pods), go for these! The case they come in charges them a total of 24 times per one charge, that's just the start of the quality of what you get with them. They knock brands such as apple earpods out the water, they're a must buy....as is the W-King speaker. A long response I know, but I'm passionate about my tech when it comes to very reasonably priced gems, I feel I need to spread the knowledge😄 Here is the link to the earphones if you're interested: www.amazon.co.uk/ENACFIRE-Headphones-Bluetooth-Cancellation-Waterproof/dp/B07TLMNN8B/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=enacfire+f1+cvc+8.0&qid=1593895519&sprefix=enacfir+f1+cvc+8&sr=8-2
Hello. Unfortunately, you can not add a photo to the comment, so I will ask ... What is the difference between the w-king d8 models, that one has a control panel with round buttons and all black and the LEDs are on the left and the others are square and the POWER button is red, LED indicators are on the right ...?
Hi - sorry they change these cheaper models often without changing the model names so does get confusing! I only have the version shown in this review so I'm sorry I can't help - hopefully someone else can.
@@TheTechnologyMan And which is the better choice for the w-king d8 vs soundcore motion boom when it comes to quality. Bass, clarity of sound. I have a dilemma between them because the price is similar, but the specification unfortunately says that the king is 50W and the motion boom is 30W, so the difference should be big ... And is it so? 🙂🙄
(Update) Seller contacted me and there is a firmware update that you can apply to the old D8 version In order to pair it with the upgraded version.. Contact seller to get it. Basically you download software and firmware, install it, connect the D8 to your Windows PC and apply the firmware update. Both speakers will then pair together. I have both. First, you can't pair them together which is a big disappointment. They use different firmwares. The older model (in this review) Bluetooth name is D8 and the newer version is W-King D8. Also, the newer model (with the red power button) includes a microSD slot at the back where the USB-C and input connectors are located. I will be returning the older model as it serves me no purpose if they can't connect together. Unfortunately, you don't know what version Amazon will send you. I ordered them 2 days apart and received two different versions of the speaker.
The price gap out weighs the difference in sound quality. Big price difference, not as much difference in sound quality. Add all the other positives such as NFC, power bank capabilities and eq effect, its the best choice.
I loved the sound and the loudness of mine but a year on have had problems. First the sound effect button failed to work and now the battery drains overnight, even when it's been fully charged the previous day. Any ideas why, or am I just unlucky?!?
Thanks for another excellent well thought out video, Gidon! Can't really think how you could do much better without perhaps resorting to some occasional light humour. Anyway, I would certainly second your comments regarding listening over headphones, especially when viewing via a smartphone. However I have to say that my listening impression goes slightly against the comments you posted. Listening via Sennheiser headphones I found the W-King to have a richer and fuller sound than the JBL which sounded more quieter, closed in, and cramped at least on this test. As for any of the harsh sibilance you mentioned, I didn't hear it. Still, I'm glad you mentioned sibilance as it's constant presence can ruin long term enjoyment of any loudspeaker for me. The LG on the other hand sounded quite inferior to the other two, less clear and far more phasey. Thanks again.
Thanks Mick Gill! Great to get your feedback. My conclusion on the sound is always based on listening to hours of "real" music across a whole range of genres. So it's very hard to guarantee this will be noticeable in the 1 or 2 tracks of royalty free music I choose for the sound tests. Not to mention I'm also then recording that sound using microphones, albeit decent ones. I think it does usually provide a good representation of what I'm hearing - certainly comparatively but nothing beats listening to the real thing!
@@TheTechnologyMan I want to ask your honest opinion about something. I want to buy a 2gb usb from a music artist. It contains all of the music that the artist ever released. Would it affect the power or the sound in any sort of way on the W-King or not?
I work in a factory and the speaker I use isn’t quite loud enough it’s a bytech I believe it’s 2 (5 )watt speakers think the W King would be loud enough???
A fine and succinct review, thankyou, , Amazon have a great offer on the W-king ( that ends today , I think ) which along with your review has made my mind up , I was toying with the Anker Motion + , but with the Amazon deal being so good ...........
It was hard for me to compare because you went from the pair of W-King to the single xtreme 2 in your comparisons. I feel like if you were going to show off the stereo mode of the W-King then you should have also done the same with the JBL since it also supports this mode or at least compare single King to single JBL. Anyhow thank you for the comparison!
I didn't have two JBLs - they're pretty expensive - two would cost over £500! I'm not sure that'd really be a fair comparison any more - but I'm sure two would sound very good!
I’m struggling to know how to turn the sound effect off. I just bought two speakers. They are a little different to your model. The 3 led lights are now on the actual button. There’s no blue light when I press the sound effect button. It just has different effects. The quality of sound keeps changing without me touching it. From bassy to well... different. It’s irritating. I especially need these for music for our wedding this year but don’t want the sound effect changing itself mid song continuously!
I'm sorry I haven't got that model to check. Was there no manual? If not I'd contact the Amazon seller and see if they can clarify the controls for you. Good luck.
I do not have problems with sound changing mid song. But I only own one speaker so no pairing between 2 speakers. Normally, You short press the far right button with the 3 charging led lights and the blue light on the power button should start flashing. Not sure what that effect is but there is indeed less bass and far more distortion. You shortly press the far right button again and the blue light on the power button should stay solid. That is the best sound quality imo.
Just got the W king & this thing is the real deal, has deep bass & sounds rich. If this were sold at best buy or any other electronics store they would have a hard time selling the more expensive competition.
I think the W-King speaker is great value for the money. Sure you maybe get better sound with the others but like art it is all subjective to the listener. People obviously have different views but for any of the others you are paying 2-3 times the price. I for one am impressed with the options you get. (higher power output, longer battery life, built-in charger, stereo pairing) None of the others offer any of these. I think this W-King speaker hands down is the *Best Bang For The Buck!!*
Good morning. I wanted to know if it was possible to keep it always on. obviously with the USB charger inserted. I saw that despite being connected to the power, after a while other speakers go into standby mode and you have to turn it on again. i need this feature to keep it connected to google nest and use it as default speaker without having to turn it on every time. thanks
My Bose Soundlink Revolve died this morning, so i was searching for a cheaper Alternative. Found the D8 on Amazon as a Prime Day Deal for 63€. Thanks to your Video, i´m sure i don´t wastet my Money :) Thank you
Great technical knowledge and balanced review as ever. Suggestions for other speaker reviews: BANG & OLUFSEN BEOLIT 17 PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER NAIM AUDIO MU-SO 2ND GENERATION WIRELESS BLUETOOTH MUSIC SYSTEM SPEAKER WITH AIRPLAY 2, SPOTIFY, AND TIDAL COMPATIBILITY Are these speakers as good as claimed?
@@TheTechnologyMan - I am sure Naim (over in Salisbury) will send you both versions of their MU-SU speakers for review, based on the quality of your work. Not sure if you purchased everything for review, to keep your independence? If this is not an issue I am sure B & O would send their Beolit speaker as well. (Naim do hi fi shows such as Bristol, and open for factory visits - very approachable and not too far away from you).
I just brought one of these, mine is different. The battery led lights are on the right side integrated into the eq button. And it has a micro SD card. My bugani m83 has more bass too, the d8 is supposed to have the best bass???
@@TheTechnologyMan what speakers is that? W-king responded to my questions about the upgraded w-king d8, they said it's supposed to play cleaner than original one, with a few other upgrades
Hi - sorry I can't find a link to download it. But I think I cover everything in the manual and more in the video. Or you can read the article at thetechnologyman.com. If you're still stuck on something let me know! I can probably dig out manual.
The sound mode I think is just the two full range drivers on and the two tweeters off and sound mode on is all 4 speakers on for a louder and more clear sound..
I want this one.. i really love their speakers coz its durable, great sounding speakers and especially CHEAP! i still have my Wking s9 and s20 alive and kicking for almost 2years now
Sad but thats theone thing, this is not super durable. Its heavy and hard enough that a perfect faceflat drop from about 3ft popped one of the woofers on my first one.. don’t like the box shape now
Good review. The obtuse user-interface controls on the D8 are so "last decade." (It seems Apple has heralded in an era of form over function, and everybody is killing themselves to have the fewest buttons with the most arcane usage.) Also, this speaker has too many useless perpendicular angles & useless cosmetic busyness: non-functional decorative notches, etc. I am no fan of JBL, but their simple design is refreshingly understated. The obvious difficulty getting a feel for audio performance from a youtube video aside (& yes, I'm using headphoones), the D8 sounds the best, but it also sounds the loudest and how much is that a function of the recording. The LG, while attractive, just sounds flat. That could be good, or could be bad, depending on the use. A 24 hour usage statistic purported by the manufacturer is just plain lying when you get 8-10 hours at the a decent volume level.
Thanks - the D8 is loud. And the LG is relatively quiet - although loud enough for most indoor usage. JBL speakers are well made - which is reflected in their price!
This is the loudest speaker I've tested at this price point. I'm just finishing a video that will have a table comparing loudness of this speaker and others.
On my model that's the mic - do not stick anything in that! But it sounds like maybe this model has been updated and there's now a specific reset hole? Thanks for pointing that out.
After a year of owning a d8 (69,99€) I bought a second one for 65. A jbl extreme costs 239.... For an outside party speaker the d8 is much preferable, especially with tws. Even if i break both d8s in a drunken stupor i can buy another one and im still off cheaper... Unless you want a high quality indoor speaker (get big speakers man) tye d8 is just more value
I have a black and a green and can never get them to pair. The black is also way louder and sounds much better. The black one has been at my Work for almost 2 Years and has taken a beating. Fallen many times from 7 feet. I’ve had to re wire it once. And I’ve blown a speaker. It still works like a champ and out performs my green and black one
it sounds like u tried comparing 2 of the D8's at %80-%100 volume to one jbl extreme at about %30 volume... i own both the d8 and the extreme as well as the charge 4, a single d8 doesn't get as loud as a charge 4 and cant compete in sound quality either... the d8 and the extreme aren't even in the same arena when it comes to loudness, sound quality and bass. the only thing the d8 has going for it is the price... but when u hear them side by side at the same decibel level u know where that extra money went for the jbl
There's no doubt the JBL is a better speaker if you have the money to spend. I had the speaker volumes set the same percentage of their max volume, but there's only so much you can convey in a sound test in a TH-cam video. I'm glad you're enjoying the JBL - I like mine too.
@@TheTechnologyMan weird thing.... I hooked to my iPad and I got full volume BIG DIFFERENCE! On my iPhone 11 I found there is a setting for volume to save your ears with headphones! You have to turn that off! I was like why is everyone saying the speaker is good when it barely goes up !!! Well now that I got full volume now I know !! It’s a great little speaker!
Does anyone here know whether the w-king will hold up alongside a drumkit? Looking for something to take busking. I will have a smaller drum setup, and dampen my snare for sure
It should be loud enough - I guess it will depend where you're busking! But sorry I don't have any experience with this - hopefully someone else has tried this ...
hello, I have no sound after bluetooth connecting with my laptop.... I've tried with the cable and there is the same result... could you please tell me how to solve the problem? ps. with my smartphone there is no problem... greetings
@@TheTechnologyMan thank you Gidon that you're still interested in solving my problem! :) maybe I'm old-fashioned but the fact is that I'm using older version of the operating system on my computer... and I think this is the clue because in the meanwhile, I've tried the bluetooth connection with win10 laptop and it plays spontaneously... thank you again for the advice, beat wishes!
The dindinmodern speaker is also very good. I've been using it for over a year now. I use it on picnics when I travel in the RV. Small in size but big in sound.

Very nice! I do wish more speakers had NFC - or even better - Apple opened up their NFC used for card payments to use in this way.
I bought one as they are cheap and loud. To be fair it’s served me well so far for the tiny price compared to the JBL.
Good to hear 👍.

Thank you very much James Albury! I do plan to review the Flare+ at some point - but thanks for the suggestion - pushes it up the list!
I agree very much with this.
Your reviews are very well done.
Great video! Just ordered this speaker and was happy to see such a thorough explanation and review
Great, thank you!
Thanks - glad you're enjoying the speaker!
My second one just came today.. paired easily and sounds great.. highly recommend two.. 👍
👍
Thanks for the review I just pulled the trigger on one of these to use at work. I’ll update my comment after I test it out!
Thank you Roger Moreno - yes let us know!
And?
@@TheTechnologyMan I love it! Sound quality is on par or maybe even a bit better than my JBL Charge 4, I like that it has a built-in power bank, and that you can pair another one to it for stereo sound.
Thanks for your review, helped a lot, decided to go for a pair of w king's.. Thumbs up!
Thank you Wayno Wonder Entertainment - hope you enjoy them!
I got two of these and so far I'm very satisfied.
Nice!
Thank you, yes, very useful! I first learned of the W-KING today, walking towards Times Square in NYC, when someone had one blasting, walking it the other direction. It sounded great! I agree, after watching your video, that it is much much louder than the JBL or the Samsung. Thanks again!
Thank you Tommy Mandel - glad you liked the video!
Ordered mine yesterday off Amazon during a lightning sale for $45. Waiting on the UPS driver as I type.
Wow great price - hope you enjoy it!
That's great I'm glad the video helped! More speaker reviews coming soon!
@@TheTechnologyMan I'd love to know what the best Bluetooth earbuds are for the money. Hopefully under $50

Sorry that's not something I've tried.
You're awesome on so many levels. Thanks for a great video.
Wow thank you glad the video helped!!
I purchased a w king d8 a few days ago through Amazon for 75 bucks. Used it at work today. Played my music through Bluetooth at max volume and got 7 hours out of it. I was pretty impressed.
Nice one!
How has it been holding ? Still get 7 hours ?
Still holding up pretty well. Getting between 5-7 hours at max volume. It gets used 12 hours a day Monday to Friday.. I'm still happy with it.
Beauty write-up my friend!! Little late to the party as I've had this for a while now (year+) but is there any config for lowering bass/mid/treble? More interested in bass as it is just too "thuddy" to use indoors paired to a projector. Thanks for any help. Well done my friend.
Thanks! You could adjust EQ on your phone - and turn off Outdoor mode?
Great video man - I've subscribed. Looking forward to your future uploads

the latest sale price of W-King D8 on Amazon this week is £63.99!!
Nice spot - and good price!
@@westalwayslose4herowars which do you prefer between the motion+ and the w-king? Or maybe are too different?
@@Federico_A I prefer Motion+ because it uses newer technology, Bluetooth 5.0 and aptX. And it's in smaller size to suit my limited room space better. However the W-King seems very attractive because its better price, heavier base and being much louder. I would buy both if I had enough room in the house.
Great Review Thank you, I am now deciding Between W-King D8 and Anker Soundcore Motion Boom, what di you think has more Bass, for I am a Bass head person.
Thanks! Don't think the Boom is available in the UK yet - but when it is I'll try and take a look!
HI Tech man, which would you prefer the d8 or d9?
and the motion boom or motion plus?
Thanks
I replied on another video - but probably the Motion+ unless I really needed the extra volume of the other speakers.
(Btw, the W-King speaker currentpy still has a 10% off voucher for Amazon prime users)
I was blown away by the quality, it blows the megaboom out the water ten times over in every aspect, it's simply a must buy!

Great review thank you, I wonder have you tested the UE megablast and if so what is the loudness difference between the two, I got the mega blast after reading good reviews but was quite disappointed with the level of sound outdoors?
Thanks! Sorry I've not tried the Megablast - but good suggestion for a future review. Hopefully someone can help.
@@TheTechnologyMan thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated! Could I please ask you one more question about the w-king? How many metres away roughly would you think it would be before you couldn't hear it anymore?
I tested it out on the moor - 10-20m away it was a fair bit quieter. Didn't see how far away I'd have to be to not hear it at all - sorry.
@@TheTechnologyMan thank you very much Indeed 👍
please do more reviews. i wish all youtubers reviewed like this
Thank you Shannon - much appreciated! Lots more reviews coming ...
Thanks for the feedback. It's a good unit - but did have an issue with the battery on one speaker.
Excellent review! Which speaker would you recommend? Anker Rave Neo or W-King D8?
Thanks! I've not tested the Anker Rave Neo - great suggestion!
Nice! Got the Charge 3, but this seems good for a little field raves in the summer where volume is more important than clarity ;) the logo on the grill is a bit obnoxious, but I can deal with that...
Thanks UP! It does sound pretty good - and some people will like the extra "loudness" ...
@stratgibson logo will still be there but that’ll help
Just got a Bugani M83 from Amazon for $50. Has a 40 hour battery life. It’s amazing for the money they are 40 watts but you can run a pair like these. The bass is incredible I can feel it and the overall sound quality is awesome. Also it has a SD card slot so you can play right off a memory card.
Thanks for the recommendation - I've not tried that one.
THAT'S how you do a review. Thanks Amigo!
Thank you so much!
is just one okay for outdoor events?
It's pretty loud - especially with Outdoor mode on.
Hi Gidon, just a quick question.... Can you connect a USB powered mixer with the w King speaker to use mic?
Sorry I wouldn't imagine so.
Please do a review of the W-King D3 Pro. Bigger drivers and higher power (60w).
Thanks for the suggestion - will have to look into that!
I cut the strap off, and I noticed there was a bit of rattling when i turned the bass up and turned it to max volume so i took the front cover off and the plastic part covering the sides
👍
Great review, the D8 is on my shortlist. I just have to mention that to reset the Bluetooth connections you put a paperclip in the first hole on the top, not in the jack socket D'oh.
This has changed on later models - but that's what the instructions state on my model - and there isn't another reset hole.
@@TheTechnologyMan still a great review.
5 star review mate you nailed it 👏 👍 🙌 😀
Thank you T-box!
Thanks for the guide but what about the W-King D8 vvs the Ultimate Ears Megaboom3 ? Is an omnidirectional speaker
Thank you Karlito Serrano. Sorry I’ve not tried that speaker yet but thanks for the suggestion!
A long response I know, but I'm passionate about my tech when it comes to very reasonably priced gems, I feel I need to spread the knowledge😄
Here is the link to the earphones if you're interested: www.amazon.co.uk/ENACFIRE-Headphones-Bluetooth-Cancellation-Waterproof/dp/B07TLMNN8B/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=enacfire+f1+cvc+8.0&qid=1593895519&sprefix=enacfir+f1+cvc+8&sr=8-2
I spent ages trying to find a good speaker and finally decided on this little trooper.
I hope you like it!
@@TheTechnologyMan yeah I will. I've subbed to your channel as well. Thanks!

The D8 is a little louder, but I prefer the sound from the Boom personally.
Question: Can you play a thumb drive in the USB port on the D8?
IIRC no you can't - it's only to charge other tech.
Can you do a comparison between the 50 and 60 watt W King.Thanks.
Good suggestion - thank you. I'll see what I can do.
The price gap out weighs the difference in sound quality. Big price difference, not as much difference in sound quality. Add all the other positives such as NFC, power bank capabilities and eq effect, its the best choice.
👍
I loved the sound and the loudness of mine but a year on have had problems. First the sound effect button failed to work and now the battery drains overnight, even when it's been fully charged the previous day. Any ideas why, or am I just unlucky?!?
That is an issue with these cheaper units. I'd would try and contact the company you got it from. Good luck!
For the USB port, would I be able to use to connect a flashdrive with downloaded music, and play directly from the drive instead of a smart device?
The USB port is just for charging I'm afraid - at least with the unit I reviewed (they do sometimes update these things).
Ordered my d8 thanks … What is that item you using to charge your phone and we’re can I get it
Do you mean the USB tester? That's just to measure the unit's output. Made by YZX Studio.
It should be louder than the one you have - but can't say if it'll be enough for your environment. It is a pretty loud though.
A fine and succinct review, thankyou, , Amazon have a great offer on the W-king ( that ends today , I think ) which along with your review has made my mind up , I was toying with the Anker Motion + , but with the Amazon deal being so good ...........
Thank you Keith Pimblett! I hope you like it!
Bought one last night.. should get it tomorrow. 👍
Nice 👍!
Hi there - can you pair the two speakers with the aux or only via Bluetooth?
I don't think so - usually you need to be using them wirelessly. But would have to double check next time I have them out to be sure.
Just got the W king & this thing is the real deal, has deep bass & sounds rich. If this were sold at best buy or any other electronics store they would have a hard time selling the more expensive competition.
These do seem to be pretty popular! Good to hear your view.
@@TheTechnologyMan Thank you for great review.
Yes it's definitely good value!
Dropped my w king speaker from a 30 foot roof onto straight concrete and works like new still
Wow - that's good to know!
TWS mode works with another speaker that has tws mode even if they are not the same brand?

Hello, I bouth W-King D8 but the manual is missing, is there some place where could i find it ? I tried but i cant find it anywhere.
II believe it's an EQ profile.
I want this one.. i really love their speakers coz its durable, great sounding speakers and especially CHEAP! i still have my Wking s9 and s20 alive and kicking for almost 2years now
That's encouraging to hear your older speakers are still working well 👍
Sad but thats theone thing, this is not super durable. Its heavy and hard enough that a perfect faceflat drop from about 3ft popped one of the woofers on my first one.. don’t like the box shape now
so is the w-king worth buying if my main use is for soccer practice and basket ball shoot arounds outside?
I reckon it'd be a decent choice for that. And if it's not loud enough you could pair to another one ...
If I’m using this outdoors in an open field (soccer field) do u think it is loud enough to be heard from about 20-30 yards?
I think you'd be able to hear it but doubt it'd be that loud from that far away. Obviously two would be louder!
Depends on wind and ambient noise
I actually like the retro "jam box" look and chunky design.. 😎
What is loudest speaker for cheap like these or better
This is the loudest speaker I've tested at this price point. I'm just finishing a video that will have a table comparing loudness of this speaker and others.
I got one for Christmas sat on the charger all night it won't even turn on I pressed the reset button to idk what to do
I would send it back or at least contact the supplier. Good luck.
Hi can I insert a Flash Drive and play music from it with this ?
It's a while since I had this out but IIRC the USB port is just for charging other devices.
You tried resetting the device with the wrong hole thats the auxiliary imput its on left of power button small hole similar to a sim card trays hole
On my model that's the mic - do not stick anything in that! But it sounds like maybe this model has been updated and there's now a specific reset hole? Thanks for pointing that out.
Hey whats better jbl flip 4 or wking d8?
The Flip is way smaller so not really comparable.
Can you connect the old style D8 with a new one
Sorry that's not something I've tried.
The reset is beside the LEDS and NOT inside the aux cord jack.....
Thanks - I'll double check on my unit when I have it to hand ...
Was the JBL on a lower volume?
No I always have all the speakers at the same volume level.
After a year of owning a d8 (69,99€)
I bought a second one for 65.
Glad you're liking the D8s - they are good value!
Interested to see how this speaker compares to the dockin d fine 🤔
Sorry I've not tested that speaker yet - but always like getting suggestions!
Dose the latest D8 have Tf card slot
Not the version I reviewed I'm afraid.
What kind of USB charger is that your using I want one! I'm just a little geeky with electronics
I just got the w-king man it's not hifi stereo but it's a nice lil jambox for 75usd. It won't win audio awards but it sure is a better value
Do you mean the USB current meter?
@@TheTechnologyMan yes
I have a black and a green and can never get them to pair.
The black is also way louder and sounds much better. The black one has been at my
Work for almost 2
Years and has taken a beating. Fallen many times from 7 feet. I’ve had to re wire it once. And I’ve blown a speaker. It still works like a champ and out performs my green and black one
Sorry only tested the D8. Glad you've generally had a good experience with them.
What is your Village name
Never been asked that question before!
Saw it on amazon and bought it after this review
Nice one!
@@TheTechnologyMan i saw the d9 too but it think the d8 sounds better , what u think?
Sorry I haven't tested that one yet.
it sounds like u tried comparing 2 of the D8's at %80-%100 volume to one jbl extreme at about %30 volume... i own both the d8 and the extreme as well as the charge 4, a single d8 doesn't get as loud as a charge 4 and cant compete in sound quality either... the d8 and the extreme aren't even in the same arena when it comes to loudness, sound quality and bass. the only thing the d8 has going for it is the price... but when u hear them side by side at the same decibel level u know where that extra money went for the jbl
There's no doubt the JBL is a better speaker if you have the money to spend. I had the speaker volumes set the same percentage of their max volume, but there's only so much you can convey in a sound test in a TH-cam video. I'm glad you're enjoying the JBL - I like mine too.
@@TheTechnologyMan not sure if u ever tried the boombox, the thing is amazing. Never thought id be a jbl fanboy but they got me
@@dmayse1000 No not tried that one yet!
I bought the w king and it’s not loud at all??? What am I doing wrong?
Have you turned up the volume on the D8 AND your phone?
I've tried with the cable and there is the same result... could you please tell me how to solve the problem? ps. with my smartphone there is no problem... greetings
Are you sure you've configured your laptop output correctly?
@@TheTechnologyMan thank you Gidon for the fast respond!
I would try running through some of these tips: support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4520288/windows-10-fix-sound-problems. Good luck.
Can you review the bohm impact plus speaker
Thanks for the suggestion - will look out for that speaker ...
The reset button is the tiny hole to the left of the charging lights!
👍
It is not that's the microphone
If you like the wking, you should take a look at the harman kardon omni 50+! It had a battery unlike the others and is splashproof.
OK thanks for the suggestion!
The dindinmodern speaker is also very good. I've been using it for over a year now. I use it on picnics when I travel in the RV. Small in size but big in sound.
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll have to look into that one.
If you want a louder speaker go for w king. But if you want a detailed sound deep bass go for jbl x2
Two JBLs would be great but very pricey!
What am I doing wrong the wking isn’t loud at all
