So relatable. I had a lower control arm replacement on my ex wifes car. First the bushings were tight and the vertical bushing would not seat right. I finally got that done and then took one bolt out from where the knuckle and strut tower meet to press the ball joint into the knuckle. All that goes great. Then i go to put the knuckle back into the strut tower. That fucker would not go. I destroyed two hammers and watched so many videos of people just pushing the knuckle back in with ease. Turns out in the midst of pulling and pushing i slipped the cv axle joint out past the slip ring. My tireless beating of the knuckle with those hammers deatroyed that slip ring. Lol new cv axles on the way. So, dude, I get it. Thank you for that tasty little burn out at the end too! Rad 🤙🏻

I've got a '92 G20 Van that I spent three weekends cutting the old cracked manifolds off to install headers, think I spent more on new tools to get the completely rusted bolts / studs out than I did on the actual headers! In any application crossover steering greatly improves driving in all aspects not just trying to fix bump steer. Push pull steering doesn't like to self center, it's harder on the frame and steering box and you'll always have a tighter turning radius and more precise steering feel. Also, a leaf spung truck with 6 inches of travel is going to have basically zero bump steer with how small the arc of the drag link is. Basically it's always a smart upgrade.
Let’s go dude. Keep up the quality content. Been looking forward to this video all week! For the clearance issues, extended bump stops is likely a simple solution but you loose potential flex. Honestly a drop-pitman arm could solve your clearance AND your bump steer depending on how your track bar and drag link angles line up.

before it was near impossible to hold a steady wide sweeping radius slide. the steering would just snap hook the tire in and rotate the thing on its axis. now its much more manageable and tempered.

Try taking that block off the passenger knuckle and use a drop pitman arm on the steering box. That should keep the steering happy and give you more room for the oil pan

I'm not a steering/suspension expert, but I think a drop pitman arm would do you a lot of good. with a big enough drop you could probably delete that spacer on the knuckle too.
May have been cheaper to take to a shop but so much better you did it in your shop and showing that it can be done just may take a little more time then it should but that is how an job can be it will take 1-2 hours and snap a bolt and it's snow balls to 7 days a trt to fix it or make it work love the build and videos were great 👍 and to see a bike build would be sick love the ones you already did in the passed the flat tracker was killer looking

So relatable. I had a lower control arm replacement on my ex wifes car. First the bushings were tight and the vertical bushing would not seat right. I finally got that done and then took one bolt out from where the knuckle and strut tower meet to press the ball joint into the knuckle. All that goes great. Then i go to put the knuckle back into the strut tower. That fucker would not go. I destroyed two hammers and watched so many videos of people just pushing the knuckle back in with ease. Turns out in the midst of pulling and pushing i slipped the cv axle joint out past the slip ring. My tireless beating of the knuckle with those hammers deatroyed that slip ring. Lol new cv axles on the way. So, dude, I get it. Thank you for that tasty little burn out at the end too! Rad 🤙🏻

I've got a '92 G20 Van that I spent three weekends cutting the old cracked manifolds off to install headers, think I spent more on new tools to get the completely rusted bolts / studs out than I did on the actual headers! But that satisfaction when it's done and works... Fuck Yes! That's what it's all about!

In any application crossover steering greatly improves driving in all aspects not just trying to fix bump steer. Push pull steering doesn't like to self center, it's harder on the frame and steering box and you'll always have a tighter turning radius and more precise steering feel. Also, a leaf spung truck with 6 inches of travel is going to have basically zero bump steer with how small the arc of the drag link is. Basically it's always a smart upgrade.

For the clearance issues, extended bump stops is likely a simple solution but you loose potential flex.
Honestly a drop-pitman arm could solve your clearance AND your bump steer depending on how your track bar and drag link angles line up.

It drifted before you put ford style steering under it but now the sketch level will be manageable
before it was near impossible to hold a steady wide sweeping radius slide. the steering would just snap hook the tire in and rotate the thing on its axis. now its much more manageable and tempered.

That should keep the steering happy and give you more room for the oil pan

If you remove the turning arm spacer to gain more clearance. You can clock your steering box down to get your correct angle again.
I'm not a steering/suspension expert, but I think a drop pitman arm would do you a lot of good. with a big enough drop you could probably delete that spacer on the knuckle too.
May have been cheaper to take to a shop but so much better you did it in your shop and showing that it can be done just may take a little more time then it should but that is how an job can be it will take 1-2 hours and snap a bolt and it's snow balls to 7 days a trt to fix it or make it work love the build and videos were great 👍 and to see a bike build would be sick love the ones you already did in the passed the flat tracker was killer looking
