    Nothing rides like air. I’m riding a 1980 Honda cb900c . Air ride front and back, motor , trans 10speed, all rubber mounted ! One of if not Best riding motorcycle of all time. My Son rebuilt the air - ride , brakes, everything for me. Good Son! It goes over bumps like a boat going over waves ! Silk , that’s what I am calling it ! Good name because it is Silk !

      Thanks for watching and supporting the Channel. Love them older bikes, had an 84 CB700 Nighthawk myself at one point, awesome ride. The 80 CB900 is also an awesome looking bike, that era of design is definitely one of my favorites. Stay safe and I will see you in the wind!

    Nice, was hoping you’d get the measurement when at full drop
    Too. Looks good though!

      Thank you for supporting the channel. At a full drop, the lower part of the exhaust (at the tip) is about 4 inches from the ground. If i added lowering blocks to it, i would be pretty close to touching concrete.

      I love it. Rides fine and feels badass to get to your destination and then dump it. Bike looks so good lowered.

    You always want to use teflon on air fittings even if they're tapered. Wrap it to the left, that way when you're tightening it it's keeping the tape taunt and doesn't unravel it.

      Definitely a lesson learned for me. Thank you for the feedback.

    Have you thought about lowering brackets? Dropping it one inch might avoid the bolt hitting the muffler and also lay out lower.. keep us updated on the quality of the kit and thank you for the video

      I actually was looking at the blocks but two things have been holding me back. The blocks say your not supposed to run on them with more than like 250lbs, which if I roll by myself doesnt exceed but if i roll 2 up then I would. My other worry is if the back wheel will rub the fender if i do leak air. Will definitely keep things updated and really appreciate your support.

    So 240 was your cost for the system as was mine. Now to get handle bar mount switch to adjust on the fly and not burn your hand trying to adjust while riding. Also get a guage and put it in line

    What brand did you go with?
    How much did it run you?
    How does it ride?
    Looks good brotha💪🏽

      Its not a brand name but rather a kit that Empire Cycle from Cali puts together, all good components, Monroe shocks, Viair Compressor... www.ebay.com/itm/232623676246 , runs about $260 if you skip the air gauge and custom switch. The ride has been great, just did a 3 hour run through mountains and open roads, handled like a pro. Honestly I dont think there is an aftermarket setup that is worse than the stock HD rear shocks. Thanks for your support bro, much appreciated.

      I’m new to the thought of getting the air suspension for my ultra limited.. sits pretty high, are you able to ride without being fully inflated? And what is the ride like without full inflation?

    It was very informative and easy to understand UNTIL, you went out side then it sounded like you had your head in a bucket. What brand is the kit?

    • @Mikeityourself
      @Mikeityourself  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Greg, so the kit isnt actually branded. I bought it from a company called Empire Cycle who looks to be located in the Los Angeles area. Here is their Ebay store link: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ssn=empirecycleparts1&store_name=empirecycleparts&_oac=1&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211
      They put these kits together using Monroe shocks (replace the bushings with HD friendly ones), Viair Compressor and then the other pieces are pretty generic.
      Thanks for the sound quality feedback, this video is a little dated and ive since upgraded to a better bucket. See ya in the wind.

    Brother - How is the suspension holding up? I love the look but a bit concerned about pulling the trigger. Thanks

      Its going well; I did blow one shock out, not sure if it was a defect or if it was because I over pressurized but after replacing its been all good. One challenge Ive run into are the air line fittings. Seems like its a bit of a crap shoot, some leak and others are solid. After you work out those little kinks its all good and rides way better then the stock shocks. Hope that helps; Ride safe my brother and thanks for your support.

    When the shocks are empty how long does it take it to build them up with no tank? I was hoping you would show using the compressor to move it up and down because I'm looking at the same kit and trying to decide if I'm going to run a small tank or not.

    • @Mikeityourself
      @Mikeityourself  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never go below 20PSI based on the MFR suggestion but that is the shock bottoming out anyways so all good. From that point to fully inflated, i would say it takes about 20 to 30 seconds. It seems longer when you are waiting but its not bad. Personally the tank is a good add if you want to be able to jump on and take off when in groups. The wiring will be a little more complex plus, i believe you will need to add in a few more components so that the compressor stops once the tank is full, im thinking its a simple pressure switch. The other thing to think about is when you dont have the tank, you'll want to start your bike before running the compressor, if your battery is weak from the get go, you'll kill it before you start your bike and then your stuck, ask me how i know, lol. Good luck on your project bud.

      @@Mikeityourself Thanks bro I appreciate it! I love the idea of being able to raise and lower it as I want but I'm a very light rider, I only weigh 130lbs and my street glide feels more like a hard tail even if I put 10lbs or less in my shocks... so I'm still a little on the fence. Id love the quick hight adjustment capability but I'm worried I'll have regrets on the ride vs a good set of legends. Is the ride characteristics about the same as the factory air assist or is it a night and day difference? My dad has an electra glide a year older than my street glide both on the factory rear suspension an his bike rides a 100x better than mine?

    • @Mikeityourself
      @Mikeityourself  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry for the late reply on this, the difference between the air assist and air ride is pretty different. And honestly if you wanted you could set your air tank to provide a stiff ride up front and then just deplete air to your desire for a softer ride. Comparing to a good pair of Legends is kind of tough, they are a great setup.

    Hi! Can i drive in low position? Or low for parking high for driving?

    • @Mikeityourself
      @Mikeityourself  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would want to be at a minimum of 20 PSI which would be low but if riding, i would not recommend anything over say like 10 MPH. With it that low it almost feels like a rigid frame, not fun.
