- January 01, 2017 we celebrated the New Year by riding around Memphis with the High Rollers Motorcycle Club. Many different bikers of all patches attended the celebration.

Memphis looks good to me Chris! Drove 18 wheeler down there and enjoyed the weather in December of 18. But live in Iowa and now have gl1800. I guess I need to head south. Nice video Chris. Looks like fun to me.

I like seeing so many different bikes represented here. You have Harley's, Honda's, Victory's, Suzuki's, Yamaha Kawasaki's, ect. Doesn't matter what brand you own, the important thing is you are on two wheels and riding in the wind.

Great video Chris, just wished we had that weather over here in UK. Love the point you made about you've always got along with everyone whatever ethnicity religion as me too in UK. You start judging people by any them things then you could be missing out on a great friendship. Your Bessie Springfield motorcycle adventurer from way back is a good example to us all. I think they do have new years day ride outs over here but in the South East a big one is on Mayday ( Labour Day ) and it goes from Locks Bottom Kent To Hastings and there are thousands on it. Its worth Youtubing. For now keep the wheels the right way up. Regards Ted

Hi Chris! You asked if other cities have a first ride of the year. I'm from Oregon City, OR and we do. It's called the Polar Bear ride and yes it's very cold every year. It's a great time though and a fun kickoff to the next year of riding.
Kathrine, I know why they call it a Polar Bear Ride, because you guys are near Canada, to cold for me, lol ride safe, and Happy New Year.
6 degrees in SW IN this morning.. The vid does make me want to get out and enjoy it though.. but, better sense applies, so I'll be waiting to later this week when forecast looks to be 50s and 60s.
The weather here is not favorable, we got snow also.

I wanted to get a left over 2018 gold wing to jest get on and drive across the country next year. Because I am retired. The problem is the soft suspension and hard seat and small windshield and drone sound from the exhaust. After watching many of your videos I have to agree with you. I can get a lot better bike by getting the old model. So thanks.

I ride missions with the Patriot Guard here in Phoenix, AZ. We have road guards that hold up traffic while the funeral prosession of a fallen military hero goes by. we do it year round.

Hi Chris, I've been watching your trips and tech tips. I haven't rode in over 20 years and finally purchase a 2010 Honda Goldwing 1800. I am intrigued of your camera set ups and would like to know which camera you can recommend.

Are first rides of the season are usually fund raisers. Whether it's Brightside, or another charity. then we do the bike blessing and then the season is on. usually in March or April.
March and April the bike riding season here really picks up.

Yes! The Christian Motorcyclist Association does a New Year's Day ride. Wasn't able to participate this year. A little disappointed about that.

when we have a long group of vehicles, they end up going down the road like a slinky. we'll be going along at 55 then we're down to 30 then up to 60
Unfortunately it doesn't take but a little slow down to cause the slinky effect, but the ride turned out better than expected.
Happy New Year brother. Chris, I'm buying a used 2012 Goldwing and the extended warranty is 1600 for four years. Do you think it's worth it?
That seems pricy buy having an extended warranty for your Wing is always a good, without the warranty the repairs could exceed $1600, but on a Wing you may never need it. It's a 50/50 chance.

Chris Caliente Nah. Had an early morning meetup but ended helping and elderly couple with a Flat tire and missed MY meetup. Had a luncheon in the afternoon too. All good. Missed the Blessing Of the Bikes to Bless someone else!!!

Chris Caliente He was riding a charcoal colored Goldwing. He had a Eagle on his vest and he was riding to your left part of the ride. At one point you commented about the nice Goldwing coming up on your left and how good it sounded. He really enjoyed the ride. Didn't know who you were until he saw the video. Thankd
the only reason a lot of clubs ride for instance harleys cause if you breakdown some ones ot a part and you only need 3 size wrenches to do anything to a hog
