    Very good to see people get the install they deserve. Too many shops not delivering but I'm glad he is happy and can spread the word in France. Not everyone has loads to spend but it shows a nice modest system can sound great.

    I've done several low-budget systems for people that sounded great. Under $100 in one case, using a combination of used and new components. My current car, I've got less than $1,000 in the system, and most people are blown away how good it sounds.
    *in all fairness, I have a good deal of "sweat equity" invested

      I'm the same way. You can do it for a low total gear cost but if I ever factored in even my hourly wage while at work the cost would be astronomical! hahaha

    That’s very true. I basically had to ask away until they said yea we can do that, and I was wondering why they didn’t tell me how much a DSP is a game changer. Thanks to your videos I have a better picture of what my car needs and checking frequency band to know the system’s weaknesses. Great video!

    so many examples of poor installs and shops that do poor work and are happy to take your money. Is no surprise that people are turning to DIY. Your FB and Patreon channel (especially) is one of the few places where this information is readily available. Anyone can build a decent system if they want to with the help of your vids. Thanks for making this possible...

    I'm in this same sort of dilemma now myself, deciding what to do next with my system and I'm leaning towards midbass upgrade in the doors as I know it's one of the weaker areas. I already have a fully active 3 way front end with a pillar builds using micro precisions and helix dsp with gordon tuned PG titanium amps and 12w6 subs. I have a spare gladen 1800,1 monoblock sitting on a shelf which could be installed to for one mono block per sub but honestly, one 1800.1 is more than enough bass for 2 jl w6s. I like the idea of changing to the helix subs but just couldn't spend that much right now.
    I also have a spare PG zx350 that could be used on the tweeters to see if it gives any better seperation/headroom than using 2 channels of a 4 channel amp.
    I've already got stacks of headroom though with a titanium 1000.2 on just the mids and a 4 channel, upgraded, zx450v2 on midrange and tweeters. I could use the zx450 bridged for the midrange only and the zx350 on just the tweeters. complete overkill in my opinion though to go down that road.
    There's also no shops local anywhere to even get a listen to anything else, let alone an unbiased opinion on kit. It's the same game its been forever that dealers will push their brands (I can understand it and dont begrudge it) but it just narrows the options. Should I go for scanspeak discover midbass despite QTS values, or micro precision 5 series mids, or go for JL ZR 8" mids or...... fill in the blanks.

    Hello, why are you always tuning your sound with a linear frequency response? After all, hearing is not linear, especially at different volumes. I'm trying to figure out the intricacies of the setup, but I haven't figured out a target curve for myself. Thanks.

    hello piter, if the speaker polarity is correct. Does the DSP system need to change the phase of each speaker channel?

    • @pssound9749
      @pssound9749  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s also dependent on time alignment and relative phase between Xovers, so yes, sometimes you have to flip polarity electronically too.
