In this video, I transform our entire clogged and dirty diesel fuel system of our Yanmar. The output: over a thousand miles of stress free sailing and motoring with easy real-time monitoring.
In our previous episode - our filters and the actual fuel lines themselves clogged. Strangely, I haven't seen anyone else doing what I do here - besides cleaning out the diesel tank and extending its life - I also added an electronic fuel vacuum gauge in the cockpit. To me, it's safer than adding a long mechanical vacuum tube to the cockpit that would risk additional fuel leaks etc. So I feel like this is at least an internet or youtube first...
I also work on making some shelves for my Hunter Legend 40.5 - something that was badly needed. I also do a few other small fixes in the meantime.
If you're considering a long trip and haven't revamped and fully assessed your fuel system, I highly recommend giving this a watch.

Quick tip for you, if you have problem recording light or your digital meter, increase the shutter speed in your camera until it doesn't flicker anymore

Glad to see the double hose clamps on the diesel fill.
They appear to both be in thd same direction. Next time you might put the one in the opposite direction of the other.

Gas tanks are quite often left hand thread. Try reversing the direction to get the Doohickey off. ;-)
