I'll take a wild guess and say you live in the US, right? Now when you finish university you'll have a considerable amount of debt and must start working, so you take a job at your usual scumbags, and work your ass off to pay off the debt and basically you'll have 0 time to work on your own projects, not like this guy who goes to the gym as well regularily besides working on these projects. So he has money+time and I'm not trying to say that he doesn't deserve his chockolate biscuit but he seems to have a life circumstance that allows him to work on these projects as well.
Some of us just don't have the time/energy/money to do these things, and this is a big problem in my eyes.
But nevertheless it's nice work by him I don't deny it.

    • @matsab7930

@@amoeb81 what you wrote sounds really nice, but this guy is the exception, not the rule. not everyone has the luxury to have hundreds of patrions, youtube revenue and ad revenue to fund their projects. There are many people who do far more complex projects as PHD's in university - these would neither be as interesting to the average person, nor could they be done without the extremely complex equipment some universities have. It's a little more complicated than 'you're in debt because you went to university and you must work a corporate job to pay it off'.

As an electromyographer I was extremely gratified to see you implementing the technology I use every day into your exosuit! There are actually prosthetic limbs in development which use implantable EMG sensors to activate mechanical servos with a high degree of fidelity! Luke Skywalker-esque prosthetics may be just around the corner!
Also, as a physical therapist, I was very pleased to see the attention you are giving to the actual biomechanics of the human body. Too many engineers oversimplify the human structure and create suits that are very clunky and restrictive. If you haven't already, you may find it helpful to research the construction methods of medieval plate armor. Armorers spent thousands of years perfecting "exosuit" designs which maximize protection while allowing the greatest freedom of motion possible.

I guess this really highlights the difference between Alex Lab and the Hacksmith. When the Hacksmith was doing their iron man suit, they went straight to trying to fly. They went for the showpiece. Alex seems to have taken a far more logical approach, by working from the ground up to design a system that can work with the body, first and foremost. An actually useable system, as opposed to free-floating thrust. When (if) Alex adds thrust to his suit it will already be set up to aid him in keeping rigid/steady while under thrust.
