      Truly those were happier times. And don't forget that during that time, we were under a financial crisis. Yes, many were affected by it but we managed to overcome this crisis. I think without Dr. Mahathir's leadership, it would be a different story altogether.

      Ahmad - The issue of cost of living is confusing. Though the politicians say the cost of living is unbearable, in reality, we see just the opposite. Ordinary people are flooding shopping complexes, hypermarkets etc. There is not enough parking space in KL and other cities. Highways are jam-packed with cars during the holiday seasons despite the opposition leaders cry of rising toll charges and rising fuel cost. These days even in small towns we see KFC outlets. If people are getting poorer these giant companies won't open the outlet and shops in rural areas. Most people have a job for their living unlike during the economic crisis period (1997) when many industries close-down forcing an increase in unemployment figures. During that period we saw a drop in people entering KFCs, hypermarkets etc. I am sure you are still employed and earning well, don't you?

      I doesn't care about proof of najib robbing 1mdb, i doesn't care about the law that well played by the lawmaker (Parliament that majority are BN people), I only cares about what's right. GST is not right and najib answer for 1mdb's also not right! HIDUP RAKYAT MALAYSIA...End to BN!

      MultiClearsky People entering KFC because KFC is the cheapest food out there.

    • @MultiClearsky
      @MultiClearsky 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      fatshady 92 - That's what you feel about KFC in Malaysia - it's the cheapest. But KFC is a luxury in Myanmar. The Govt has fixed daily wages at K3,600/day while 2 piece KFC chicken costs K3,500.00. It's almost similar in Bangladesh too. Both these countries have very few KFC outlets. It's because our economy is doing well, that's why we can have KFCs in small towns. Hence it's considered cheap in Malaysia while it's a luxury in some other countries

    Many idiotic pro-BN supporters will say Mahathir is in it for the money but you can tell he is not. He is already old.... he knows his age. He just cant stand to see how his country has become and he feels a need to fix the mistakes he has made in the past. I pray Mahathir can brjng this country back up on our feet

    The host didn't understand what happened to our cost of living. When GST was implemented, obviously there will be a price hike in all sorts of trades. This is because most manufacturers wants to cover the cost for GST with the increments of prices in their products. When world investors knew this, they started pulling out their investments from Malaysia. Then the downfall of our MYR currency. When your currency drops, prices are multiplied with higher decimals. Our current cost of living is now 3 fold from the previous cost of living in 2015. That's 3 increments plus 3 folds. We're not just paying 6% although 6% is channeled for GST, we're also paying additional 12% to cover the cost of GST for the manufacturers.

      If you've done your research, the "Singaporean" Oh Ei Sun is actually Malaysia born. He even was political secretary for PM Najib.
      As a realist, his opinion on poor & rural area, such as Sabah & Sarawak is pretty accurate, He even predicted BN will cont' win the coming election, due to Malay supremacist mindset, welfare dependency, lack of constitution knowledge will cont give BN advantage.
      He even said we like to think Malaysia is democratic, but we lack understanding the democracy discipline itself, making us a liar to ourselves.

But he missed the point when Sammy was asking him about "what would be at stake if BN doesn,t win?" his answer was about BN return to power which was very opposite.

      Wealth will always concentrate to the elite group, whether its in democratic or non democratic countries, thats a bullshit statement, singapore always have a malicious plot to their neighbouring countries, for example lgbg campaign backed by uno centered at Singapore, but i must say 1mdb from ur pm najib is really vulgar, should just do that in form of state owned company investmq

    • @hussinsaid4716
      @hussinsaid4716 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have the point there , the gap between the poor and the rich do exist in every state of the world, but again, the disparity in some countries is quite obvious and distressing where the rich subjugates the right of the poor. This is not necessarily so is some countries like New Zealand, Australia and Canada where poor people can still enjoy decent live with proper housing and livelihood.

      dimaz andhika... the proposed of Dr. Mahathir as Malaysia's next prime minister does not mean the country is lack of qualified leader. Opposition led by Dr. Mahathir do have many young talented leaders as young as 25 years old, Syed Saddiq who three-time winner of the Asian British Parliamentary (ABP) Debating Championship's Asia Best Speaker award thus, had been offered Oxford Scholarship but sacrifice and chose to fight as opposition for the sake of the country , Nurul Izzah Anwar 37 years old, a strong reformist and member of parliament who struggle for 20 years since her father Anwar Ibrahim was removed from government and jailed in 1999, Yeo Bee Yin (34) and Nik Nazmi (36) were former state assemblyman and many other young bright innovative leaders. Apart of that, opposition also has leaders with excellent governance record such as Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of Penang who successfully reduce the state debt up to 92.25% within only 10 years and Mr. Azmin Ali, Chief Minister of Selangor who manage to grow Selangor's reserve by 8-fold since opposition took over the state. The wisdom and long experience of Dr. Mahathir is respected throughout the country especially when he led Malaysia out from ASEAN economic crisis 1997. Not only Malaysia was the fastest country recovering from the crisis but also did that without IMF aid. Therefore, to remove the corrupt current prime minister and addressing problems made by 1MDB, the biggest money laundering scandal world ever seen, opposition in Malaysia requires blending of wisdom and experience from old leaders with fresh innovative idea come from young politicians. This is not an easy task. Hope you may send us your prayers. Thank you.

Maybe Tun is making up for past mistakes, either way im allying with him this time around to fight a bigger enemy...and No it’s not our current PM, BUT the Monster that has grown too big in UMNO instilled in years of the way they operates with. The monster i meant was Greed, Money Politics, Corruption (several things of the same Devil). Tun knew that this is the real problem in his ex Party that is going beyond repair, that is why Be it Najib, be it whoever in the seat of PM under UMNO, this need to be Crushed. Period.

      Malaysia is and can be a better model Muslim state for the Mislim World to emulate. You have to be ignorant or blind or both regarding Islam and Malaysia, to consider Malaysia as a model Islamic state. Given the cosmatic realities, not in light years will Malaysia be a true Islamic state, let alone a model or an ideal one ! !

    I was unaware that life was so tough for many Malaysians. So much for Mahatir’s plan to have Malaysia noted as a First World country by 2020. But, just as in the West, all this much-lauded economic growth results in all that revenue going into the hands of those as the top of the tree. Two quote Midnight Oil: the rich getting richer, the poor get the picture.

    To my knowledge, Tun Dr. Mahathir is the only ex-premier in the entire planet to re-enter politics at such an advance age. I mean guys literally he's putting his life at stake where he could simply be minding his own business and indulge in whatever pleasures of life he has access to. He is not at the slightest obligation to make these sacrifices. But he's willing to put all these aside for the sake of salvaging the very little and last hope left for Malaysians. I want a clean leader to rule our country. That’s all. Please! Malaysia has so much potential but, if it is being lead by corrupts ministers, Malaysian’s life would be miserable in the the next 5 to 10 years. A forward thinking leader should think about what they will give to the nation when he’s not ruling the country anymore, but not to think in short term: such as how to win the citizen heart on the next GE. God , please save Malaysia from a corrupt leader

    The people of Malaysia don't want to see Barisan Nasional retaining power after this general election. BN has failed miserably to ease the people's difficulties due to the rising cost of living. About giving handouts like BRIM for example, it doesn't reach all the people. Subsidies are cut and imposing GST has made things worse for Malaysians. Instead of giving out handouts, the ruling party should continue giving subsidies so that all Malaysian will get a taste of its benefits. The dwindling of the Ringgit is another factor contributing to the rising cost of living. Poor economic growth has also left many of our younger generation jobless. We need a change and we welcome Tun Mahathir's comeback.
