PSA: you definitely can still get TSS with “natural” tampons! It’s a (low) risk of all tampons!
How fluent are you in Korean? This is a dumb question but I was thinking of studying abroad in Korea but didn’t know if I need to be fluent or just know the basics.
You don't have to be fluent but you should know the basic Korean and customs. The study abroad programs teach Korean to foreign students and they usually have a test which help you find what level of Korean (lvl 1 to lvl 6/7) you can speak.
You dont need to know anythjng but it makes things easier obviously

On the real, you don’t need to know any Korean whatsoever. If a Korean school is offering study abroad they are more than likely offering all the classes in English with the option to take classes in Korean if you have an adequate level. However, knowing Korean will definitely enhance your experience.

Enjoy Korea! Good idea to stock up on tampons, compact ones are harder to find there and more expensive as they are more of a pad/towel using country. However, do not misinform others that the tampons are toxic shock free. Mylola don't even brag that: "TSS results when normal bacteria found in our bodies-called staph and strep bacteria-multiply, overgrow, and release a poisonous toxin in our bodies", that's from their site. Stay safe ladies!

Make sure you show us everything! I will be starting my study abroad in Korea adventure next month. As for the ticket, will be buying it next week lol since I refuse to buy a separate return ticket for next June 😭. That's how much clothing I packed for one year lol. I stuffed my homemade version of packing cubes into my carryon so that I can keep my year's worth of hair products in my main (medium sized). Packing cubes are a Godsend tbh...They're not for everyone, but I bought a reusable divacup to help with conservation and ensure that I don't have to worry about buying any sanitary items next while abroad or worry about packing that bulky mess 😭. It comes with a cute little bag to carry it in, will not cause toxic shock, and holds up for 10-12 hours!

Hey, just wanna say, I live near Seoul in Korea and it’s really nice, a lot of restaurants are English so that’s good. You’ll survive if you know like the basic Korean words. Good luck. 😂

Since you are sharing info on Lola, love that they’re all natural, as well! However, using ANY tampon carries the risk of TSS. It has more to do with how long each individual wears her tampon and the tampons absorbency , not to do with the ingredients. Lola still has to put info about TSS on their website because they sell tampons and are therefore obligated to share the risks of wearing tampons with their customers. Just thought I would share that piece of womanly wisdom!

I love packing my luggage, but when I went to New Zealand for my Gap year, I also finished packing like three hoers before I had to leave for the airport. I really felt your pain, and really enjoyed your video
I know this is too late to help you for this particular trip, but for future trips, I will state that one thing you can do, is pack a bag within a bag, to check and bring back with you when you come home.
Another thing to do is to look into international shipping cost from the country you are going to, back to your home country, and then set aside _____ money to box up and send back items that you don't have room for within your luggage.

I know I’m only 13 right now, but I’m currently learning Korean, and I can feel myself falling in love with the country 😅 I’ve been watching a lot of people traveling abroad to Korea to study, and how much they love it there, so I’m thinking when I’m older, I’ll try to persuade my parents to let me go.
My parents are from Mexico, and they both moved to America when they were in high school. So maybe since they know what it’s like to be in a new country, I’m hoping that’ll be something I can use to persuade them. I’ve never left my country, but I’ve always wanted to!

I’m not learning it as much as I was before (because of school and my other hobbies), but I learned by using TTMIK (Talk To Me In Korean). Their books are extremely helpful and explain things in a simple manner. The chapters are short too, so it doesn’t feel like you’re overwhelmed with information.
If you don’t want to buy the books, then you can also go to their website and it has the exact same information. I just got physical copies because I learn better when I can look at a book right in front of me.
You can get the books on Amazon, or if you don’t want the books, here is their website: talktomeinkorean.com/
On the website, you can learn for free, but if you get their premium, you get things like sample dialogue videos. They have a TH-cam channel that helped me learn too. But I also recommend using other sources as well.

I also recommend learning the alphabet (Hangul) before anything else. Learn how to read, pronounce, and write it. It’ll make things so much easier. It shouldn’t be too hard since Hangul only has 24 letters.

But I actually got into a very good high school program at a college that is helping me with pursue what I want to do in the future after graduation, so I am happy with where I am in my academic life! 💪

if you want to go all natural for menstrual products, I would highly recommend diva cup or some type of product that is similar. It is much more economically friendly, reusable for a long time (some women say 7-10 years) despite it being 'yearly renewable' and it actually won't give you toxic shock syndrome. Because tampons that are eco friendly can still cause toxic shock syndrome without the toxins that are in the chances of a diva cup causing toxic shock syndrome are much lower. It changed my life and it's really helpful especially because I have a weird thing with the texture of cotton touching skin, but either way, anything that is more environmentally friendly is helpful, but diva cups are amazing and i highly recommend them to everyone looking for a more ecologically friendly and healthier option.

Yo, that's a lot that you're bringing. When I studied abroad in Korea 4 yrs ago, I only had one luggage and a school backpack. Pro-tip for anyone who plans to study abroad in general, pack light. Only pack the essentials like clothes, something that you can never ever live without, and something that you can't get while abroad. Discard the big toiletries, only bring travel size for the first few days and just buy abroad. By the end of your study abroad term, you will have to pack both what you brought and bought. Trust me you do not want to lug multiple heavy luggages around.
I love your suitcases! I have to large and bigger carry-on from Away a few years ago and they are great, but I impulse bought them in bright orange! I do wish I had gone for a slightly more muted color, but at least this way I can always find it at the airports!

There's a net fee calculator in their website for you to just get sort of an idea of what you might have to pay according to your financial situation etc. Im pretty sure you only have to have sports if you get in on the basis of a sports scholarship
Oh and having extracurriculars etc is good to have on your application. She mentioned some important points in one of her previous videos you can check it out on her channel its very helpful
