This song was released by Mark Wills nearly 25 years ago and the original video is hard to watch too. I'm proud of you for bravely facing what you knew was going to be hard to watch. Even though the subject is a hard one to handle I'm always glad when Home Free tackles the sensitive social issues head on and uses their platform and other artists to get the message out. Even when they make me cry, I always know that there's a very specific message that they want front and center! Though we don't love seeing you cry, we do love your beautiful heart and I hope you feel that love from us! Big hugs! ❤
I agree. The original kicked my a$$ emotionally so hard, and then Home Free's kicked me harder several times over. The song and the message are meant to be emotional, if you(everyone) don't FEEL some kind of emotion(no matter what it is) I don't know what to FEEL for you.
@@wheelerdave...100%! If the lyrics of this song don't touch you, that says a lot. Then throw the videos in too! Another Mark Wills song that kills me is Wish You Were Here. That one guts me!
Thank you. I have been bullied or ostracized throughout my life because I have cerebral palsy. This video hit home. Home Free has been the only band that has brought some joy and healing through the constant pain. I am so grateful for them
I'm sorry that you went through that Angela. One of my daughters had mild cp and she also went through it in school. Amazing how Home Free can nourish our souls and bring us such joy. 💗
I’m sorry you’ve gone through that. “Average” people sometimes have their heads too far up their own a$$holes to see exactly how much of an a$$hole they actually are. 😏✌🏻🫶🏻
@@moriahwhite1188 well said Moriah-my thoughts exactly. We are all God's children, and none of us deserve to be treated badly. As the song says, "one day we'll all have wings" (well, most of us, anyway).
Thanks for putting yourself through this so we could have your reaction. The beautiful young woman who joined Mark singing at the end is his daughter. Hopefully all the reactors will catch the message at the end.
Home Free once again on the good message & the right side of things. I too have a Downs cousin up in Kentucky who is pretty well functioning and lives in an assisted loving facility and is almost 55 years old which is longer than most downs live, but he is such a loving & kind and carefree stud...he bucks it all. Ashley I too was bullied until even one day in the 8th grade I attempted suicide....I know the pain of bullying
Love your beautiful heart Ashley! Most everyone who has watched this has gotten all snotty and gross, I know I did and still doing it. I appreciate how loving and kindhearted our guy's are and Mark is an awesome person too. Take care and I'm sending you love from South Georgia!♥️🍟
Big hugs, little sis! You done a good thing here. You're showing us the way. Dang, this one leaves a mark, doesn't it? And I'm right there with you -- maybe with just a tad less mucous.... 😢 And hugs to all those who've been bullied. You are so strong, it's not your fault, and all of us out here have your back! Hang in there. It does get better, promise!
I want to let you know that the guy Nate is actually the CEO of 21 Pineapples. It taught my Boys to be there for anyone who needed a friend. Mark Wills brought this song out back in 1998, the video is really sad but beautiful at the same time. The guys always know what we need to hear and when we need to hear it. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. Sorry about your bullying.
Oh Ashley, as soon as I saw you had reacted to this I grabbed the tissues. The Home Free guys are so good at bringing up tough subject matter. I think those people who bully are losing out, my granddaughter is 12 & I used this video to have a great conversation about how hurt people hurt people and that we stand up with love and understanding
I started to tear up just listening to your lead-up... Mark Wills has been touching hearts with this song for a LONG time. It is such a simple song with such a deep message. I was listening to reactors to this song yesterday at work and was a crying mess - thankfully I work where I have to wear safety glasses, so not TOO many people saw. I'm sending you a HUGE mental-health hug from this sad old man, thank you for sharing your vulnerability with us. It might not seem like it sometimes, but there are WAY more of us who know what it was like to be bullied than there are bullies - our strength comes from sharing, which this video shows so well. Go hug on your fuzzy ones, it will comfort you and probably annoy them, so win-win. ;)
Kid this is sutch and wonderful message Home Free is such beautiful bunch of guys they put so much time and effort into things that they truly believe in with no profit to them. I truly love your redactions girl take care now and have a wonderful day.
I'm a 6 foot, 250 lb, former construction worker. I don't cry. On the other hand, I have a son on the autism spectrum - best human you could ever hope to meet and... yeah, this one hits home hard.
I'm right there crying with Miss Ashley. I'm in my 50's and had all of that crap that happened to me flood into my memory with this song. Thanks for the honest reaction, be well.
It is a very impactful song and video, but the impact is also triumphant in the end - your life experience has added more sauce to the mix than most of us feel, but the good things in the video and the song, for me, *far* outweigh the heartache. The actors in this production were perfect - not just the 21 Pineapples pair, but the young men who played the "bullies" had to be on board with the mission and the song too. They did great with their roles. And in the end, while in reality it probably isn't realistic, and lessons like that, if learned, often only last a matter of hours or *maybe* days, the allegory of the story is so compelling, we want to believe the boys' lives were changed by kindness and love. And who knows? Maybe - just maybe - they could be. That is what we keep hoping for... Blessings of love and comfort be with you.
I have followed your channel since the days before you even had headphones. I have always loved the way you are able to show emotions. Don’t ever change.
Hello beautiful, I want to personally thank you for reacting to this song, it holds a very emotional place in my life, I was heavily bullied when I was younger, I still get people who share even now at my age. This song hits many different aspects of my life, I'm disabled, have glasses, short and according to my doctors I'm overweight, as I told you when u reacted to the Billy Gilman song, vulnerability isn't a weakness, it's a strength, although we can't be our true self, love ya superstar❤🌹
Brad, thanks for your comment. Just remember (as should everyone) that we are all beautiful in God's sight. Does not matter our weight, height, looks or anything else.
A powerful and important message, delivered perfectly. Growing up, my older sister had a friend who was mentally handicapped. So at a very young age I decided to never make fun of someone who was handicapped. I decided to never refer to anyone as retarded, dumb or lame.
I can't believe that I'm the first commenter on this song , it makes me sad that people watched this and had nothing to say. Thank-you for the reaction Ashley . 💜 Hopefully more people will speak out against bullying . 😿🤗🥰
Ashley, thank you for reacting to this. And thank you, for being a part of our family. Of all the reactors on TH-cam, you're my favorite. You're not afraid to show your emotions. Never change, please.
As someone who has always been against bullying as well as a big fan of Mark Wills' music due hearing this song in elementary school, I was so glad to see Mark join Home Free for this new version. It sends a message that needs to be more than ever these days, and Mark and the guys are the perfect people to send it.
Ashley, don’t ever feel like you “have to” react to a video even if it is Home Free. Your mental and emotional well-being is far more important and you need to look out for yourself first. You won’t be letting your fans down if you decide certain topics need to be off limits. Hugs to you.
I've seen this so many times and I cry every single time. But it also makes us appreciate these guys even more. Not only talented, but caring and willing to call out people.
I think all of us on The Isle of Misfit Toys have been bullied. It isn’t fair. We don’t deserve it. We ARE NOT defined by it. Much huggles to all the Misfits out there. 🫶🏻
It is a heart wrenching video, but I do like the way they ended it. I also loved that the young girl was signing in the video. I think ASL is a beautiful language we should all learn. I’ve been meaning to for a long time. I am so sorry about your cousin being treated like that by her grandparents. So sad. You are a bright light here in the TH-cam world, Ashley. I love that you have such a big heart. I know this had to be hard for you to watch and we appreciate you reacting to this video even though you knew it would upset you and bring back bad memories. Home Free does know how to get us in the feels in one way or another. I love that they record these songs that raise awareness on social issues and mental health.
Love the kitty and your reaction. I've loved Mark Wills for years. Many artists ..N'Sync and Aerosmith for a few...have recorded his songs. This was great.
You aren't "Deadgrl". You ARE "Superstar"! You are the only one (of many views I have started and skipped 'cause they were so superficial) who understood this song. Love from a sister, darling.
i always love your heartfelt and empathetic reactions. When i was a teenager we lived next to a family whose youngest daughter had Down Syndrome, she was the sweetest child I've ever met(i'm almost 60 now so i've met A LOT of people) , she adored my father and he loved her. i've sometimes believed more than me🙄
I was bullied all through school as we were poor and my cloths were rags. I was even bullied by a elementary school teacher. I'm a pacifist by nature and the idea of hitting someone is repulsive. But at a new school in 10th grade the bully of the school decided to show me who was boss of the school. My pacifism had enough and I took him out. He declared to others I was the new boss of the school. made sure bulling was stopped.
It's okay to cry sweetheart, I cried like a baby watching this beautiful story unfold and Home Free's harmonies made it worst. But it's a beautiful message and I hope it keeps spreading all over the world.
I can see by how you reacted how much this song affected you but you are not alone it has done the very same thing to multiple reactors but thankfully you have survived and prospered despite earlier injuries. You can always count on these guys to support a worthy cause.
Such a sweet song with a powerful message. Loved the kids, they were so cute. Mark has a great voice. Often bullies have been bullied themselves. So sorry to hear your grandparents were the bullies to your cousin….just awful. I just hope the rest of the family helped her realize she was loved. It’s ok to cry, this brought me to tears too. I love the happy ending. Good reaction DS. Have a great weekend. 🥰 Buck up, you are loved!
Hey, thank you for doing this review. So sorry for everything you’ve been through in your family has been through. Please know that you are seen and you are loved. I have the privilege of being a trauma therapist and get to work with people every day who have been hurt and help them heal. I hope you either have or are finding your healing.
Lots of love to you and your family. I've been bulied, too. In fact, probably more of your viewers than you realize have been. I'm glad that you can be authentic with your viewers and show your emotionsl Never stop doing that. It helps you get through the emotions and it tells other people they are not alone in their feelings.
Just think, almost everyone has been bullied in their life at some point in time. Unfortunately some get bullied more than others, but that doesn't make it right whether it's family or some total stranger. If we all will just take a moment to be kind to at least one person each day & make them smile, perhaps we can change this world for the better. Loved your reaction and keep up the great job.
Your cousin's grandparents disowned her?! First of all, she did not control how she was born. Secondly have they never met a Down's child? They are the nost amazing people on the face of the Earth! People always focus on the negatives instead of all the positives.
Please please please react to 'The Sad Cat Diary' by Zefrank1 with your fiancee. That video is funny but its *especially* funny if you are a cat person. I really think it'll brighten your day.
I think people today are terrible role models for not bullying. The attacks that occur online are frequently from so-called adults verbally attacking others that they do not agree with. Remember that old Sticks and Stones saying that ended in "but words will never hurt me"? We all know that is not the case particularly when the words don't stop. And this crazy cancel culture is just ridiculous. We should not have to be clones of each other to be friends. Just stay you and love yourself!
But it has a great ending...he and his girl friend made lunch for the 2 bullies and he gave it to them and they are now ok with him. Kill them with kindness.....sometimes it works
