I think one of the reasons the devs added the possibility to play with other characters besides the Dark Urge is because some of us Baldurian Veterans might just be tired of the same "I'm a Bhaal spawn" for a third time and I know some people enjoy making an evil run for the lolz but evil for laughs or for evil sake is not my cup of tea.

I'm sorry but I can't help but wonder what Minthara's intentions are in trying to convince you to accept Bhaal. it might seem like a simple power grab thing but is she really that simple or does she plan to help you do something grander like eventually usurp Bhaal or something? it's just a thought that crossed my mind.
You aren't wrong at all, Minthara isn't just some simpleton, she tells you a lot about her past and the environment she grew in, it was all about power, wit and violence, so you are definitely asking good questions. There are partial answers to them in her romance's epilogue dialogues (posted those videos on my channel as well) - but we can't see further in the future than that, can only speculate
She wants you to be as powerful as possible, at least as romance partner. Her ambition is conquest. I had an Astarion origin game and she urged me to ascend. And in epilogue all of her options led to conquest, making you a beautiful king, with her at your side as queen.
Withers probably doesn't comment on it because he's waiting to see what Durge decides to do about it without his influence. If Durge chooses the good path, the homie has our back
Im beyond confused because i cant run the game. Do the first 2 games mot matter anymore? Bhaals ecessence was either destroyed or absorbed by the player character at the end of game 2 making them the new god or goddess of murder. Is the new PC a difrent person or not? Do thevorigional masterpices eveb matter anymore?
Sadly I have only played the first game, I can't comment much on the lore or whatnot. My only assumption is the whole bhaalspawns things is a repeating cycle, but do feel free to correct me, I'm really just theorising
@@Saretz Within the D&D canon (basically, what the rulebooks have made official and not what can happen in the game), Bhaal's resurrection was apparently stopped with Throne of Bhaal by destroying his essence BUT there was another surviving Bhaalspawn besides the MC (and Imoen). Many years later, like 30 or so, that same Bhaalspawn attacked the BG1&2 MC in the middle of the city. Nobody knows what happened exactly in the battle of the two, but a monster arose from the winner and was later defeated. Defeating it essentially gave the push needed for Bhaal to return, but much diminished and not nearly as strong as he would have been with a perfect resurrection. He is now a quasi-god, which means he is mortal despite his deity status. Basically, the canon answer is: Bhaal's essence was thought destroyed, but enough survived for events to trigger an imperfect resurrection anyway.
@@AlcheaNemesis That's very informative, thank you for letting me know! Withers probably doesn't comment on it because he's waiting to see what Durge decides to do about it without his influence. If Durge chooses the good path, the homie has our back
That's definitely a possibility
I'm considering uploading the "Tribunal of Murder" from BG3, I don't know if I'm spoiling you anything so I'll leave it there, but if you know what I'm talking about, I'd like to know if that is also canonically possible/correct.
Do Halsin, Jaheira and Minsc not react to the news at all?
Didn't have Halsin in party at the time, but I remember Jaheira saying nothing after this - Minsc reaction is impossible to get, since this cutscene will always be a forced trigger way before you can recruit him
Wait, what about halsin? 😐😐😐😐😐
Didn't have him in the party at the time, or another run with it, video's 6 months old so not enough playthroughs nor the changes to Minthara recruitment
i just played this scene for myself about 10 minutes ago and halsin’s reaction was pretty much “damn, you should be careful who you tell about this.” i found it to be one of the more underwhelming reactions
@@gothdad420I guess that saves me some effort, xD
