Great vlog! I love your shirt and the green floral fabric is stunning. I also love the baby bestie bag. I’d love to be included in the draw to win this please. Xxx
So much work on your beautiful jumper! May it stretch appropriately after blocking Sarah. Love the green fabric with flowers from Spotlight too. Thanks for your video. 😊
Thank you Leonie, fingers crossed! I was thrilled with that green floral fabric. I was expecting to see it was a polyester blend so when it said 100% cotton AND it was 140cm wide I just had to get it. And such a good price too! I'm excited to sew with it.
Sarah, how generous of you to gift that bag. It is beautiful and I would be honored to have something made by you. So enjoy watching your channel and certainly hope you’re able to block a little ease in your beautiful sweater. 🤞
Hoping your sweater relaxes enough for you to wear! I enjoyed your knitting update - the baby sweater is adorable. As a rifle paper fan and a neighbour to blackbird fabric, I would LOVE to win your baby bestie bag!! Loved the chatty video. Happy sewing!
I hope that gorgeous sweater stretches out so you can wear it - it would be so sad to have worked on that project for so long and not be able to wear it. I love the little baby cardigan. So cute! Your new knitting project is going to be pretty fabulous. I really like your plans for your Frocktails outfit. Both patterns are really beautiful and I cannot wait to see your progress.
Thank you Izzy! It really is a disappointing end to such a long-term knitting project! I'm excited to get sewing for Frocktails... so many plans - I think I need more time off! 🤣
Hi Sarah, what a thrill it would be to win the baby bestie bag. The medium size is way too big for me, I’m a small bag person and I just love the size of the baby bag. I also adore the fabrics you used. What a kind gesture to offer the opportunity to win it.
Hi Sarah I loved everything you spoke about today. When you showed you your rifle paper company bag my first thought was “ ooo I love the fabric and bag. I wonder if the fabric would still be available “ and then I heard you say you were going to gift it” Very generous of you and yes I would love to be in the draw. I love the Frida fabric. My cat 🐈 is named Frida. She had a mate Kahlo. Happy sewing 🪡 🧵 🌸
Thank you Cornelia! I'll enter you into the draw, absolutely! I'm glad you love the bag! The Frida fabric is so fun isn't it!? I'll put my thinking cap on to come up with the best use for it now my original plan won't work. Love the names for your cats - so sweet!
I love seeing your knitting projects. I am just learning how to knit, and hope I will be able to knit something as glorious as you one day! That bag is stunning! I prefer small bags myself, I’d be over the moon to receive something like that. You are so very generous to open it up world wide to receive too ❤
Thank you Melissa - I'll enter you into the draw. Good luck with your knitting journey - I just love having my knitting projects to work on. Such a satisfying hobby!
I cant wait to see your new knitting project completed, i love the color of wool you are using. I would feel honored if i am lucky enough to be chosen to receive the beautiful bag you made.
I'll include you in the giveaway, thank you Cindy! I am sooo enjoying working with this beautiful wool - the colour and the texture are just so beautiful! I think it will knit up fairly quickly... apart from the fact I'm dealing with the pesky DPNs on each side getting in the way! 😂
I am absolutely gutted for you and your gorgeous knitted jumper! I’m sure you’ll find a really good home for it! How dinky is that bestie bag!!!! Thank you for doing the trial run… I’ll stick to the medium 😂😂
Hi Sarah. I kept waiting for you to proudly hold up a swatch for size/gauge on the new knitting project. The color work sweater is gorgeous; I'm so sorry it's so small. Best of luck with the dresses/gowns, Antonia
Hi Sarah great to see what you working on. I hope blocking will help make the Crush sweater more roomy 😊 The Baby Bestie bag is beautiful and it’s a generous giveaway! I have bought fabric at Spotlight yesterday also on sale linen cotton blend and I hope to sew the Orchard dress 👗 wish me luck 🍀
Oh yay Sylvia! I'm sure you'll love sewing the Orchard dress - good luck! 😄 Looking forward to seeing it and maybe twinning in our Orchard / Ghost Whisperer outfits together one day!
Definitely go for a dressy dress for the frocktails it’s not very often we get chance to make something that little bit more fancy. I love the small bestie bag and would love to be included in the draw to win it . X
The bag is so cute, but sometimes we sew this to experiment and they don't end up working for us. Been there and so generous that you're giving it away! I recently sewed up the Daphne dress and am OBSESSED with it! It was so fun to see and really delivers. So excited to see your thoughts bw both patterns, the Gracie Steele one also looks great! Also, that cardigan 😍
Elizabeth, it was seeing your beautiful photos on the beach in your Daphne dress that inspired me to buy the pattern. You looked absolutely stunning! I'm actually now leaning towards using the green floral on that pattern, rather than the pink check... I think it could work? Decisions decisions!!
@@SoSarahSewed Thank you so much!💓 I think you'll really love it...the green floral would look so lovely and it will save you pattern matching the pink check (if that's something you care about). Plus, you can make it more midi length or even shorter which could make it even more wearable beyond frocktails! Haha, I wish I been on a beach! 😉
You have quite the Frocktails dilemma! The circle skirt would be gorgeous, but the Jane Austen dress! Either one would be swoon-worthy. The sweater is beautiful... if only you had a niece who's already an adolescent and could wear the sweater and use the bestie bag! The baby cardi is too precious... love your taste.
Hi Peg! I do actually have a couple of older nieces as well as my little ones... One is 16 and the other 14... it COULD fit the 14 year old but I'm not sure it's her style. I'll ask her. I would love her to wear it if she wants it!
Wow - I’d love your mini bestie bag if I can throw my hat in the ring for it! Although I may have a battle with my daughter who I suspect may try to pinch it if I won it🤣. I admire your knitting as an outsider as I don’t knit. Shame that jumper doesn’t fit as it’s gorgeous so I hope it finds a home too 😊
Thank you - I'll enter you in the giveaway! I hope the jumper will be worn by someone too, if it's not me! We'll see what happens there... I tried it on last night and the sleeves are DEFINITELY longer, but there's so much pulling under the arms which is the biggest issue. 😫
I'd be thrilled to win the Baby Bestie Bag. It's lovely. Actually, I'd put my knitting in it. Either that, or wear it when I go to visit my brother in the city. It would be perfect when hopping on the subway.
I like your baby Bestie bag. I prefer a small bag to limit the amount of junk I can carry around 😂. I have some of that green floral fabric from Spotlight. I got it probably a year ago to make a long sleeve button up shirt. It’s still waiting for me to find the perfect pattern because it is so lovely I don’t want to waste it. I hope you can make your jumper fit 🤞🏻
Thank you Sandy! Ha, yes a good point about a smaller bag. It's incredible what we accrue in our handbags when there's lots of room! 😂 Oh that's interesting you have the green fabric too - it is so pretty! Really caught my attention. 💚
Amazing knitted jumper hopefully will stretch out youve accomplished it so well, it can be re gifted, love the colours on the bestie bag would use it well if i should win it 😊 I'm in Melbourne northern suburbs but do visit hometown (weekend) in mordialloc at times ps spotlight in mentone is the best and siuth morang stock alot of varieties
Thank you! I'll enter you in the draw! The Mentone store is my local! I'm in Cheltenham. I am a regular visitor! 😝 This week, however, I was in Box Hill, which seemed to be very well stocked!
That's a bummer about the Frida's garden fabric but I agree it would make a lovely shirt dress, especially for something like the Sew Melbourne Garden Party (if you're planning on going next year of course!). I've been trying to work on my knitting + walking skills (it's slow going lol) but I think the baby bestie would be a fantastic project bag for this x
I'll try and come to the Garden Party next year! This year it clashed with rehearsals for my school musical, but I won't be doing that in Term 1 next year. ☺️ Oh gosh, I don't think I could knit and walk - I'd be guaranteed to end up with an injury. 😂
Wow, I can't believe you are giving it away. I would love to be entered please. It would go so well with a few of the makes I have planned for November. 😍😍😍
You did such a great job on the Instant Crush Sweater. I really hope it blocks out for you, but I don't think mohair is terribly helpful in these situations, sadly. I made the Whitmoor Cardigan a couple of years ago but despite swatching obsessively to get gauge, it still turned out too small. (Side note - I ALWAYS swatch. I follow all the rules. I make it big enough to actually give a good indication of what will happen in the completed garment. If it's knit in the round, I swatch in the round. Fully wet block it. If it's not right, I do it again, etc. But no matter what my swatch says, the garment ALWAYS turns out to be significantly bigger or smaller than it's supposed to. Every time.) Anyway, I made my Whitmoor with fingering and mohair held double, so it took a lot of yarn and a lot of time (and I can confirm that the DPNs on each end absolutely did my head in!) so it was such a bummer that it didn't work out how I'd hoped. I could probably wear it unbuttoned, but sadly I never do. I hope you fare better... did you swatch?? (I say, as as if it makes a difference. 😅) Oh, and please throw my name in the hat for your sweet bestie bag, I would use it as an on-the-go sock knitting pouch! 💙
Thanks Tamsyn! I'll enter you in the giveaway. Oh gosh, you've made me nervous about the Whitmoor now! Eek! While I didn't remember to show my swatch on the video, I promise I did do one this time. 😆. But your experience is not giving me confidence! 🫤 How annoying are the DPNs?!?! What in the world? There's a reason most patterns don't do this! 😂
@@SoSarahSewed Haha, totally. I know it seems clever (and from a design and construction perspective it probably is!) but it drove me nuts. I ranted many times on Instagram.😅 Don't be nervous though, other than the fact that mine turned out a bit snugger than I'd have liked, it really is a beautiful knit. I especially loved knitting the lace section. I think using mohair is what kept mine from blocking out like I'd hoped too, so if you're just using a straight DK, you'll probably have better luck. Enjoy!💙

Hi Linda! Yes, I saw a little bit of the episode where they were starting on the Instant Crush - I'll need to see their finished sweaters! Thanks for letting me know!
A jacket would be very cool! I'm actually leaning towards a structured knee-length Lyra dress at the moment... I think that could work well, and could be layered in winter too.
Oh my how heartbreaking about your beautiful jumper ! Did you do a swatch for the new one ? The bodice with elastic channels should hopefully fit well! Lovely fabrics especially the green floral and a fab bag!
Hi Debs, I DID make one for the blue cardigan! I forgot to show everyone, whoops! 😅 Should be a more successful make 🤞🏼 I LOVE the green floral, I have it washed and hanging on my line today and I think I might just start with that one...😄
You sweater/jumper is absolutely gorgeous! Would it be possible to take it to a professional cleaner for blocking to your size? Maybe I’m ever the optimist, but it is so sad that it is not fitting ! Oooh and your blue shirt is adorable on you! The color really sings! ❤❤ Suzanne
Argh it's my own fault. 😭 Lesson learned!! Thank you for your comment about my new shirt! I am excited to wear this more as the weather warms up. It's a lovely light fabric and I love the colour too!
Oh Sarah, sorry you don’t think you would use your bag. It’s so beautiful, you sure you won’t use it??? It would go with your all black that you wear when conducting?? Thank you Melanie! Yeah, I really can't see myself using it enough and would be so happy to think of someone else using and appreciating it. I will enter you! Enjoy making your bag - it's a really fun pattern to sew. I recommend following Syd Graham's sewalong as you go - I found it so helpful!
Hopefully, you can give that beautiful jumper to family or friends if you can't get it to stretch...the colours and pattern are amazing. The baby jacket is so sweet! 😍 The yolk on your new knitting project is going to be delightful. I also love the shirt you're wearing. Well done Sarah...beautiful projects x
Thanks Lizann - I hope someone can wear it! I am sooo excited about my new knitting project - I started the lacework (just the first 2 rows) last night and can't wait to see it come together!
If you can’t get the beautiful jumper to fit I’m sure it would be the most beautiful gift for your nieces, even if it takes a few years for them to grow in to?
Hi sarah, such a shame about your jumper, hope you can salvage it. The Style arc Armidale shirt dress only takes 2.5 m of 148cm fabric. I would love to be in the draw for your baby bestie, it looks so cute. Hope you get more sewing time this week. ❤
Thank you Jeni! I will look at that pattern! I think I actually only 2.25m of the fabric come to think of it, but being quite short I usually don't need as much length as patterns say anyway. I'll enter you in the draw!

Yes, hopefully someone will wear it one day! 🥲
@SoSarahSewed size 4 - 10 only takes 2.2 m so I think you have a good chance if you like the pattern. 💓
Jeni, you were the winner of the Bestie Bag! Please send me an email at sarpatto@gmail.com and I can organise getting it to you. Yay! 💕
Hi Jeni, just reaching out again because I’m not sure you saw you won the bestie bag. Please get in touch so that I can get it to you! sarpatto@gmail.com

Hi Sarah would love a chance at wining the bestie bag for my grand daughter, plz enter me, thank you x
Lovely, I will make sure you're in the draw!
Hi Sarah, I'd love to be entered into your giveaway please.
Hi Julie, I'll add you into the draw!
Your freida fabric speaks wrap skirt to me
Ooooh that could be good! Thanks for the idea!
