Same, so disappointing. This is an insult to what IW have built with these MW characters and story so far...
Maybe SHG should stick to their non-sub-series titles at least when it comes to campaigns, but again, this is somehow worse than the Vanguard one they made too that i thought was good, not amazing but good and better than this... make it make sense Activision or whatever..
im not what so ever surprised, game was suppose to be a dlc. it takes 3 years to make a campaign. Not 1. What a mess this whole franchise is at this point. Mw2 weapons in mw3, like what? just make it dlc and stop complicating everything you touch u morons.
So interesting fact, if you play the game on an ultra wide screen monitor, you can actually see Soap get up and it doesn't seem as weird. Like it doesn't seem like he just teleported behind Makarov. Regardless, compared to the original his death was very underwhelming.
i mean.. its cod... when are they not going to over hype, and under deliver their games??
@@Athasin Such a weird thing to even make the animation if the average player won’t even see that, even more confusing lol, but nice catch ahah
I think you nailed it on the head. They were halfway through completing a real campaign when someone at Activision said "WRAP IT UP, WE'RE SHIPPING THIS YEAR."
They're too busy defending pedo's by removing twitch streamers that tweeted "leave the kids alone" to focus on making a game. They chose politics over just making a good game (which they already sucked at)
Had to be what happened, that or sledgehammer just fucked it when it should have been infinity ward. Cause WTH happened to makarov starting world war 3? I was expecting the defuse 4 bombs mission that I’m at to be the halfway point, but apparently it’s almost over? Like wtf? Similar thing happened in MW22 campaign tho honestly cause it just ended out of nowhere it felt like.
I really wish they would put more effort into these because no other game has this type of campaign combined with an interesting story and great characters, like mw22 had me hooked the whole time. Yet MW3 it just was a let down, cause I’ve always been a big fan of the COD campaigns, and I always look forward to them, but this years just was way too short and didn’t have what they hyped it up as
@@limitbreak2966if IW had made the game it'd be another unplayble shit multiplayer. The mp is most important so if they have nailed that then a lackluster rushed campaign is not gonna be that big of a deal. It's not sledgehammer's fault that mid development they were told that instead of a dlc they are now making a full game and need a campaign
@@munkayttaja6913 no both parts are important, you may not believe it, but a lot of people bought MW3 and MW2 for the campaign on top of multiplayer, as a package deal. Because MW19s campaign was so good, so a massive downgrade really doesn’t look good
@@limitbreak2966 shitfare 2019 campaign is not even close to the level of the golden era cods. You don't spend 70$ for less than 5 hours of ok time. Bo3 is one of the best cods bc it has a grear multiplayer and great zombies, even tho the campaign is not good. Shitfare 2019 has good campaign mostly but the rest is shit garbage. Most people buy the game for the multiplayer and the 3rd mode bc those are what u spend time on and the stuff u keep going back to every time, not the campaign😂
The moment they started using Spec Ops and Warzone, from MW1 to MW2, as a vehicle for story narrative it was inevitable that they would stitch together DMZ maps and missions and call it a Campaign for MW3. No effort at all, years in the making.
Yeah man. That pisses me off because I don’t have a crew I play with so I haven’t been able to do the Raids and some of the Spec Ops stuff. Those things would have given so much more material for the regular campaigns.
Year in the making*
This sort of shit is what I was dreading. It was bad enough in the MW2 campaign when they did it for a couple of levels, but the fact that this is what the campaign is this year is insane. Nobody wanted this
Word bro so trash. Hate these people in these top dollar companies just being greedy and giving us DLC content for 70$
MW 2019 was such a breath of fresh air for the series. Only four years later, and this is what we get.
I agree, i came over as a battlefield Player, new to the franchise. Mw2019 kinda blew my mind, it was so polished and i felt badass playing it. Preordered mw2 and was super disappointed about all the bulletsponges and overall style of the gameplay. Only watched mw3 in LP and im still disappointed. Back to bf i guess...

Funny in Cold War there was a mission where you infiltrated the kremlin and it involved multiple routes and sections to complete the mission and it was immersive and had branching choices
And Cold War was developed during Covid. Activision needs the 343 treatment
Treyarch has always had bomb stories. Black ops and Black ops 2 was the secret sauce. Then they took LSD and made blops3 and lost their fukin minds. Didn't make one for Blops 4 and realized the saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it" can indeed be used for Cold War
@@maltheri9833bo1 was peak, bo2 was pretty meh but bo3 was by far the worst campaign ive ever played. the only redeeming factor was coop
@@sieveignI refuse this BO2 slander. It has the most replayable and fun campaign in the game. Plus Menendez' motivation is pretty realistic.
@@sieveignyou should replay the black ops 3 campaign again, one of the better cod campaigns with a good twist and it has more customization than any other campaign besides maybe infinite warfare, i heard it was terrible when it came out so i never really touched it for a long time, picked it up on sale and had a blast with the campaign but multiplayer was bad
The MW2019 Storyline was honestly pretty good. Clean House, The Embassy Siege, alot of very gritty, brutal, and heart pounding scenes. Some if which unnerved you a bit. It all seemed pretty grounded and I really enjoyed it. Then they started the continuation of the story through Warzone and it got cheesy, campy, and unenjoyable VERY quickly. They switched the theme of the seriousness of everything and turned it into an amusement park for younger audiences.
MW2 (2022) was okay-ish as a campaign. It was extremely upsetting that so many mechanics from Warzone made their way into the campaign. Armor plates, the vehicle driving. Just....no.. Alot of the missions were actually very good. However, alot of it was extremely over the top and quite oddly paced and it didn't have the same energy or atmosphere as MW2019. Also alot of super cringe fan service that is EXTREMELY forced on the player.
They had their chance to make something amazing where they knocked it out of the park with MW2019 and influence from Warzone and battle royale fuckery completely scuffed the singleplayer aspect.
Modern Rehash wasn't anywhere near that good. Just a dramatic, angsty, edgy, emo , goth trip
1. " Clean House ", aside from how dirty of a place it was, had someone stupidly bringing a CHILD to a TERRORIST hideout. Also, the NVGs were trash....AND that woman didn't surrender when MULTIPLE ARMED MEN pointed guns at her and ordered her to surrender. Lady, you are BEGGING to eat lead.
( That same scenario happens AGAIN later on, BTW. Good lord...)
2. " Embassy ". Why are we using an EMBASSY to stash a TERRORIST leader ? Just evac him and be done with it...assuming we need him alive at all. CNN isn't around ( not that you can trust them anyway ); you can just cap him and nobody would know.
3. Words like " gritty " and such are overrated. We need good story that focuses on itself, not obsessing over how " grimdark " it is for the sake of it. That's why the REAL trilogy is always a step ahead of this rehash, because it was actually telling a story, rather than " Look at how DARK and GRITTY we are ! Oh, and did you know SYRIA IS A THING ?!! ALSO, THAT IRANIAN GENERAL GOT KILLED ?! OTHER RELATATEL TORN FROM THE HEADLINES STUFF !! "
4. Seriously: Who brings a CHILD to a TERRORIST hideout ? What kind of death-wish having soul doesn't think they won't get shot going for a gun when several are aimed at you ? Lady, all you had to do was surrender, and you'd be fine. But, no. You had to reach for it. That's on you when I put a round through your dome.
Well its warzone fault
Warzone destroy specops and now campaign
Blame PUBG and Fortnite for Popularizing the Battle Royale genre
Man Yeah they have the golden oportunity with MW19 But they fuck it up with Warzone crap.
@@SethWill07 Modern Rehash from 2019 is about as unnecessary as half the explosions during a Michael Bay movie. Or the entire Avatar franchise ( aside from the RDA. They're out to keep humanity alive, and yet we're supposed to root for the alien hippies ? Ha ! )
This is what happens when you have a game come out every year. It takes time to make these things work.
which is why you assume they alternate developers so they have longer to work on it
I agree you cant rush greatness
Even two years is a tight development window to REALLY advance a game, that’s why cod has felt basically the same for a long time with different visuals
@@justinmccormick2578it's more like 4 years since they rotate devs

Lool I knew mw3 would be like this 😂 so happy I ain’t getting it right now
Just wait a month or two after multiplayer is released. Everyone will be hating that as well. I don’t understand why anyone has hope for cod at this point.
the lengths they've gone to, to do everything other than give us an actual remaster at this point is honestly astonishing.
Rumor is that the OG MW3 remaster is finished, but they're holding onto it for some reason.
Why would they when they know a bunch of braindead idiots will even pre-order it? Why would they make anything good when they know people will buy it no matter what?
I quit COD 10 years ago. It's garbage.
They realized the old games don't cater to new kids with their "skibidi gyatt" garbage in their brains. Notice how the new story doesn't focus a lot on intricate topics as much as the OG trilogy did, like Shepherd used to be this insane complex character but now it's just some "bad old miserable dude who gives orders who looks like a politician". It's like a 12 year old realizing there are corrupt politicians lol.
@@_MaZTeR_yeah but if they keep it another couple years the remaster will literally become as obsolete as the original game. They made MWR and MW2R using Advanced Warfare's engine, which was 10 years ago.

The open combat missions completely ruined the Campaign
I feel it would of been fine with 2 to 4 person co op
in a campaign? yea no@@England91
@@HB4o8co op campaign?
Reminds me of a certain open world game..
Totally ruined it. And the irony is they could’ve cut the mission count and put quality work into the game.
The worst part is that it just...ends. The Channel Tunnel felt like the halfway point or the shift into the third act, but it just ends there, mid credits scene feeling like a saving throw. Say what you will about older CoDs but you knew when you were entering the climax, even in games like Vanguard or Ghosts. The stakes would increase, people would die, the whole crew would band together for the mission. Here, it feels like the kind of cliffhanger reserved for a crappy Netflix series that you binge and then forget about the next day. So cheap, so so cheap, like they saw the complaints about MWII feeling too safe and said "Fuck, we gotta off someone" without any consideration of HOW to do that
To be fair, the entire MW rebooted trilogy has that issue
MW2019s ending was insanely anticlimatic, MW2022s was only slighty better presented, but at least over there, you liberated Urzikstan and stopped the WMDs
Over here, you start the game trying to stop Makarov from doing a false flag attack and in the next game, you will be doing the same... it set the exact same premise for the next game as MW2022 set up for this one
This is exactly the problem I had with original mw2, it had a cliffhanger ending too, it's no different then half life 2 episode 2 cliffhanger ending either, both just end, atleast we had original mw3, another game where many people crapped on but to me It was good, it continued the story, with half life 2, no such luck to this day on, I give respect to the current mw3 campaign simply because the developers had the guts to kill one off its main characters, the previous campaigns made these characters seem inhuman, to be clear, I am not happy just like in the original trilogy seeing these characters die, but it makes it more realistic and believable and raises the stakes in my opinion
I know Ghosts get a bad rep for many reasons, but I liked the campaign. It definitely wasn't their best campaign, but it was fun and I enjoyed it better than most of the later campigns. BO4, Infinite Warfare etc. Even the MW2 campaign from last year was kind of meh at times. It felt like the original Metal Gear Solid when I was fighting a tank at the end. It was just silly. Events like that should be a tactical insertion into the game and be a fun and interesting part. It felt like a slog at times. Thank god I already planned on not getting this one. I buy CoD once every 3-4 years now if I can help it. Just to get the FPS fix for a few weeks or so and move on.
@@adamir-magnumCZ You start the campaign off breaking Makarov out of prison, did we play the same game???
Shepard getting killed in a mid credit scene in a god damn MW campaign is CRIMINAL
I was getting a bit worried when they didn't show much in the campaign trailers. Usually, they show off most of the spectacles.
They knew it wasn't the strongest suit of the release so they released campaign trailer just as the eraly access launched. Istg, Vanguard had something better.
In the old mw games from 2007 to 2011 we got to fight Russian army and other terrorist groups as part of us army and marines. There was like large scale warfare, there were atomic bombs dropped, France, Germany getting destroyed in world war 3, the campaigns also used to be longer. While The campaigns of the newer mw2 and mw3 are mostly stealth spec op missions with zero memorable moments.
The old games had a great variety of all those things you mentioned why I absolutely loved them
Nuclear Bombs
Agreed I miss sandman and roach
The linear missions with in-game rendered cinematics are what made the old CoD stories so memorable. Now we have open-world empty maps where it’s basically just DMZ, and if we do get a cutscene, it’s some big immersion breaking cinematic movie.
"this game was garbage" followed by "but I'm still PSYCHED" is exactly why we get the games we get these days. 😢
Edit: now that people are talking about the multiplayer and how disappointing it is in addition to how bad the unlock system is, I'll accept apologies from all you dick riders now. Thanks!
He's saying the CAMPAIGN was garbage, but that there's still hope for the multiplayer.
Personally though, if I was gonna pay 70 bucks for a CoD game I'd want both single and multiplayer to be up to scratch. Maybe when it gets a discount.
@@ChaosBahamut so reward their insulting effort on the campaign by giving them the benefits of the doubt on the multilayer?
This is why it doesn’t change. Do you really think multiplayer will “restore” what’s already broken? I give it 2 months until everyone gets bored of the nostalgia, SBMM ramps up and everyone starts complaining just like MWll. The cod community will never learn…

Fr i played the entire thing on Veteran and on one of the missions where you're in a fairly open area, the the enemies could literally see you from hundreds of meters away at night and alert everyone. What the actual fuck? Not to mention how one guy firing a single bullet on one corner of the map indoors alerted everyone.
what ??! the game is so easy that being stealthy is just a waste of time. watch hollow play it he never used stealth and nor did i
Tbh, there was no rule book saying you were meant to be stealthy the entire mission;actually I don’t recall a mission where it would have worked anyway apart from one as laswell, which worked out just fine.
the open combat missions was trying to be a first person Splinter cell
not to forget "Try to be quiet" but you enter the Mission with a unsupressed Shotgun and Pistol lol.
It felt like the conclusion to the MW2 Story and a setup for MW4. I mean, did we really achieve anything? We chased Makarkov the whole game like we chased those fucking missiles the whole MW2 campaign.
And mw4 is gonna be the sequel to whatever this was,we're gonna chase makarov the entire game and then he might get killed off by price at the end or if they're feeling generous they'll actually let gaz do something for once seeing as hes the main character but he'll probably get killed off halfway into the game anyway lmfao
@@HallerettaDon't give them ideas. I wouldn't be surprised if MW4 ends on a cliffhanger and then MW5 wraps up the trilogy
@@Legion849you know you have a problem when the story is wrapped up on game 5 out of 3 😂

MW2 was the fuckin setup to the fuckin setup
Also adding this, you're told to take the stealth approach. But in the Price Open Conflict Reactor mission you are not given a silenced default weapon, you have to find them on the field. You don't even get an Ascensor rope climber, you have to find it. Is the US operating on a budget that they cannot give their special forces the proper equipment?
It was the most annoying thing ever this year. Outside of a couple missions it felt like I was playing “All Ghillied Up” but not in a good way. It’s just me running around by myself in a big map with lots of enemies. Even when I’d advance or supposedly be clearing something out with like Ghost, I’d look around and see nothing but open world. Then they’d just majestically show up for a cutscene.
I honestly stopped playing it like a campaign and treated it like WZ practice. Peeking corners, “turning on” NPCs, etc. I don’t think I’ve ever been less immersed in a campaign not just because of story but because of mission types. Felt like Spec Ops/NPC WZ practice.
SPOILERS NOW
Then they had the least dramatic build up to Soap dying like. Random bomb defuse in chunks as if they got all day. Makarov goes on a rant about not burying enemies alive but proceeds to kill Soap and skip away like a little schoolgirl as if he wasn’t just about to kill Price. The OG Soap death was suspenseful and powerful. Graphics weren’t near as good but you could feel Price’s pain through the VA. This one? Just a casual NO. And then cut to ashes being spread.
Then the Shepherd assassination was SO random. Like yes bad guy. But like wtf. I was expecting some teaser for the next game or secret alliance meeting between Makarov and Shepherd. But no. Sneaky Price is suddenly Ezio and goes casually killing General’s after watching a court trial on TV. You’d think he’d do that at the end of MWII but no mans waits an entire other game to do something he coulda done in last game

The characters have always felt no where near as charming. The missions tend to be eh. Never the same fun or excitement as playing OG Modern Warfare. Game has always felt a bit eh.
I think you're right on the money. The characters in this new trilogy feel like superheroes until the end of MW3 where *finally* someone important dies. In the original trilogy we lost members of the team in every game. MW1, we lost all the Marines, Griggs, Gaz, and was heavily hinted that we lost Price too. MW2, we lost Ghost and Roach, plus most of the members of the 141, almost lost Soap too. And finally in MW3 we lose pretty much everyone that's left; Yuri, Soap, the Delta boys, even Kamarov. The new writers have no guts in them at all; there were several moments and opportunities to kill off a few main characters in MW3 rebooted and they only did it once; frankly I think Farah and Laswell could easily have been killed off (especially Laswell with the gas attack. That was well built up and the emotion displayed from Price would have complimented her actual death really well. But no.)

this is so sad to hear, i really enjoyed mw19s campaign, and mw2 was worse but still had fun going through it. not impressed with the mp at all this year but was considering getting it if the campaign was decent, and maybe would've played some mp as well. will be passing now.
The story was good in the original trilogy 😌
was amazing, og mw3 had my favorite cod campaign ever. was hoping to see them finish strong in this new one. :(@@victorcharles27
They really revived a franchise with MW2019 and Warzone and then mutilated it again within a few years.
Hahaha you say the same thing at the end of the video. Seriously I had not played CoD since MW2. 2019 sucked me back in hard, but I didn't even buy the next two games and WZ2 was a fail for me. I have no desire to play anymore. At least we had some good times.
I'm having more fun playing with bots in private matches than I am playing in online sweat fest lobbies.
And the best thing about playing in private matches is that I DON'T GET FUCKING KICKED FOR PLAYING AS A TRADITIONAL SNIPER or FOR DEFENDING FLAGS IN DOMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, snipers should be the ONLY class where ghost works while you're still.
Either that or just remove the f*cking snipers from the game.
Devs definitely weren't 'lazy', I'm 100% sure the publisher simply forced the talented developers to completely rush this entry. I can imagine the frustration of the developers, not being even able to polish the campaign, to actually create something great, and having to deal with insane deadlines and pressure.
The campaign for Cold War was actually great. In fact one of the best COD campaigns in a long time. I don't care about the multiplayer and I'veheard it was bad, but when single player was concerned, Cold War was anything but a sub par release. I hope the next COD campaign is more like Cold War and the multiplayer is more like MW2019.
agreed
I loved cold war, the campaign and multiplayer were both amazing
I actually liked "Operation 627" - "Frozen Tundra" and "Payload" but other than those it was a disaster.
About the DLC Stuff, I truly believe this was supposed to come out as DLC, kind of like the Raids, with a bit of Story Continuation and that this is why they only had so little Story Content (maybe 2h with cutscenes and Gameplay?) and then tried to fill it all up with these awful Open Combat Missions to make it seem like a actual campaign, they should have stayed true to making this DLC, if this was 30$ I would have been aight with it, still a horrible story tho.
Sp you were happy paying 60 for 12 mp maps on the old cod days
I thought I read somewhere that this was DLC converted to a full game. I could be wrong.
@@georgen5882 yeah that's been the say for a long time, it is near 100% confirmed, I just think this is why the Campaign turned out THIS BAD.
I honestly did not mind back then, I agree that we get A LOT of content to play these days, but it's sad that the "Legacy" of CoD is just being milked by the overheads and the Studios are not given enough time to do what they want and can.@@AngieMakarovMW3
«No Russian» mission in new MW make more sense for story than in MW2 2009, but overall it seems like 0 effort from writers: weak characters, Makarov becomes Vin Diesel with his voice lines, Price didn’t kill Makarov when he can, Makarov by the way attack Verdansk 4 years ago but he spend 6 years in prison. New writers is a joke.
The fact they charged 70 dollars for essentially a single player warzone is fucking disgusting
MW2019 campaign will never be touched. Honest to god, they made me actually enjoy playing as a female protagonist (Farah). Getting dug out of rubble as a child and then playing her as an adult. Total badass. You can believe that she has GRIT. In contrast, we have random female operators dolled up like nicki minaj.
Sucks that they also forgot about the Warzone story
Ahh yes bc females can’t be cool apparently
Bros a sexist
@@emma6648 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@emma6648 almost as if in recent years people have been pushing "diversity", of course people would be skeptical
mw19 had a mission where you could shoot out all the light on the level and it just felt like the perfect evolution of cod campaign gameplay but nothing that cool ever happened again with the following games : P
Splinter cell style I love it
Didnt activition promise years ago that they would do 2 - year cycles for each game to make sure this exact thing didnt happen?
kind of, yeah, and I am happy that Treyarch is getting all the time for their next game, pretty much 3 years, altough they had to help on these newer ones too, it gives me hope for their game, if that one fails, that's probably it for me with CoD, wouldn't even have played this if I did not get it as a Gift.
Didn’t they cut that story like 11 months ago
The fact that everyone had seen this coming and still gave it a chance just goes to show how big Call Of Duty has become. The sales haven't been released yet but based on all the bad reviews and the overall people talking trash about it I know it already broke sales records and at the end of the day that is the only thing that will ever matter to them lmao. See you all in Modern Warfare 4...AGAIN lol.
They should have given more time to develop the campaign, the writers had enough time to deliver some amazing moments and missions for MW 2019 and MW2 2022
and suddenly they’re rushed to write something up in a year or less? Of course it was gonna be shit, you can’t just push writers and developers to wrap all of these years-long plot lines up in that time and expect it to be decent lmfao
Thanks, Activision 👍🏼
This is not a campaign, its just Raids w abit of story behind it.
I wasn't gonna buy it anyway but.... Well, hope more people save their cash. Frankly. Stop buying these games, people.
Homie you dont buy COD for the campaign. I already preordered the vault edition and I can't wait to play MP next week.
@@keks7063 im sorry for you
@@marlon.8051Sorry for your echo-chamber nonsense...
Thats why they only showed that small part at the event everyone should refund 😂😂
And no review they know the game was flopped so badly that’s why no reviews for mw3
And join your bootlicking nonsense? No thank you.
Honestly it just felt redundant, a copy and paste of the last 2 campaigns. Oh no let’s stop the terrorist guy from setting off the bombs for the hundredth time. Nothing big/dramatic ever happens except for the soap part, then leave you on another cliff hanger. OG mw2 and mw3 will always in my mind be the best campaigns. Each mission was something new and exciting. Nation vs nation, special forces mission, terrorist mission… god bring me back
You're not playing as Shadow Company breaking Makarov out of prison 💀💀💀 you're literally playing as Makarov's people , Konni Group , why tf would shadow company be helping him
The Verdansk stadium mission was the best in the whole game IMO, and thats not saying much, because the part where you're pushing Makarov around was very annoying and dumb. Anyway, it was good because it brought back the shock factor that missions like Picadilly did in MW19, where it establishes the villains as horrible people doing realisticallly horrible things.
They could have done so much more with the Passenger mission IMO. Why not make that the cool puzzle/mystery/spy mission like the KGB mission in Black Ops Cold War? Would've been cool to play as an Air Marshal, and have to use high aiming skill to neutralize hijackers in a plane packed with civilians.
This campaign definitely felt like an extension of MW2, I’ll say it… this was MW2.5 DLC. The story was decent but what ruined it was those open world spec ops type missions which completely took away the immersion and distracted me from the story. I read that the horrendous open world missions were developed by Sledge and the more linear, better missions were by Infinite Ward which looks obvious. I agree this game was rushed and should have been a $20 campaign DLC. I fear that MP will release in the same state as Vanguard did at that launch in terms of performance.
Just finished downloading all the mw2 and mw3 stuff. Was gonna finish mw2 campaign then start mw3....refunded and uninstalled. Guess I really am skipping this year. Shame.
But we knew this was going to happen... This was originally planned as a year two DLC, not a stand alone game. Activision probably made Sledgehammer turn this into a full game with nowhere near enough time. I don't think Sledgehammer is at fault.
Being short doesn't make it terrible. It's TH-camrs who make videos about it to generate views is what makes it bad. At lease it HAS a campaign. Is it worth the price? Absolutely not, but terrible? Far from it.
The spec ops coop missions from the original mw3 were so much fun. Best times.
How do you go from the amazing stealth mission from cold war to this? where stealth isnt even an opinion let alone work?
15:28 I'm glad someone finally acknowledged the project management side of things! I'm a PM and I am in AWE of how these studios manage it
What disappointed me most is how they killed of Soap. In the original MW his death is slow, painful and sudden. But in this version its somewhat obvious, Bomb is in a tunnel, Makarov is in the tunnel, Bomb is found but where is Makarov?. Then he's shot from behind, saves price but is ultimately subdued and executed by Makarov very quickly. Then to add salt on the wound there's no "I'm sorry" or any emotions from 141. The mission ends and the cutscene begins. I would of thought he would of had a burial funeral but i do like 141's last goodbyes to soap before they spread his ashes.
R.I.P John "Soap" MacTavish
Task Force 141
Heard somewhere activision and soaps VA had issues not sure if it was over the death or the reason for such a fucking putrid death scene
Everyone complains every year about Campaign mode.. Developers try to completely change it up and everyone still complains.. Rinse and repeat year after year
As someone who grew up playing Cod4, MW2, Blk ops1 &2 in their prime, Modern Warfare in 2019 is the best from a hardcore and gritty shooter. Those campaign missions were so damn realistic to a point, the animations from a weapon handling perspective was crisp and on point. MW2 and now MW3 have been a major major letdown.
Damn. MW2019 and MWII(2022) campaign were good and i was excited for this one
Really enjoyed Modern Warfare 2019 campaign. As soon as I saw warzone armor breaks on AI in Modern Warfare 2 I stopped playing. Then I saw they were doing "open battle space" campaign missions in this one. I knew it was just Warzone without other players. Just make a Call of Duty World at War remastered with 4 player coop campaign. Thanks for the video. Really wanted to buy it and play the campaign see if they fixed it and it got worst.
I say give MWII a chance, yes, armoured enemies is a pain, but it's such a great campaign and now compared to this, so, so much better.
@takoshihitsamaru4675 I tried to and then I saw the final mission was a boss fight against a IFV where you run around alone trying to find AT to take it out and it lost me. Mini juggernauts running around just isn't my thing. If they want to calculate body armor for specific areas of the body I'm down with it like World War III does, but they went the arcade route with noise and icon cues you're "hitting" armor for that dopamine hit. Just not into that. I like enemies that are smart, good shots, and it's easy for you to die, as well as them. Not bullet sponges that are dumb AI. Story didn't seem bad just gameplay for me.👍
@@Yonoosh Uh, you're talking about the Graves fight? Yeah, that's not the final mission. It's also a very, very easy fight if you mostly ignore the fodder.
@takoshihitsamaru4675 I gotcha thanks for the heads up. May dive back in just to finish it then. Anythings better than this. Haha👍
@@Yonoosh The actual final mission is actually quite good, but I'm curious how you felt about "Alone" the mission where you play as Soap with no weapons and need to craft things to get by.
The way they killed Soap lacked the emotional significance it had on the original game.
Captain Price :There's a clocktower in Hereford, where the names of the dead are inscribed. We try to honor there deeds, even as there faces fade from our memory. Those memories are all that's left, when the bastards have taken everything else.
Capt. MacMillan : What happened?
Captain Price : He killed Soap. He's gone, Mac
Capt. MacMillan : What do ya need from me, son?
Captain Price : A location.
TF141 in 2009 actually felt like a cohesive, international, special operations elite unit, but now they just have 3 or 4 Avengers tier super soldiers.
This is why Open World doesn't work in Call of Duty shooters. Halo Infinite and Wolfenstein: Youngblood are examples of that. It should have been linear with huge levels. Next Time, Activision shouldn't follow Ghost Recon: Wildlands and do their own thing.
Nah it could work execution was bad.
Halo Infinite was solid but they did cut alot of things out of the game
@@detroitmade6 Which is why the game almost flopped. Halo Infinite was too rushed and the multiplayer didn't get updated until almost half a year later.
@@briansmith2739 because of the the heads at 343. Same thing that happened with star wars. Nothing personal towards Katheleen Kennedy but her ideas and execution was terrible. People tend the blame the whole company but never look at the people who make the final decisions
@@detroitmade6 This is a debatable topic. The leaders at 343 Industries made a bad decision and as a consequence, Microsoft laid off the campaign team.
Halo Infinite was supposed to have more DLCs after launch but ended up being cancelled. The third Modern Warfare reboot is a spit to the face. It had a good start with the first and second games then everything went downhill afterwards.
I think they could have done a better job with the story and come up with something original like the first game where some elements were based on real-life events like the US Embassy being attacked in Syria.
I pray the next Call of Duty won't be an Open World like this one. It wasn't meant for this franchise.
I liked the first part of the high rise mission with the shotgun. The open missions were too easy on veteran. You could drive over a squad of enemies and get the alarm going, then hide for 3 minutes and be in stealth again. The ending was shocking. I saw soap die and I leave to make a coffee and come back to credits rolling.
Bro what the fuck with the spoilers 😂😂😂
@@supportlidbigfry literally shows Soap dying in the video lmao
I think the open combat missions would've been way better if there were AI teammates (preferably that you can control) or like you said, co op. The missions felt very bland and the only open combat mission that I really enjoyed was the dam one.
"I liKE bUyiNg CaLL oF DuTY" well that is the problem right there along with everyone else. Specially when you know exactly what you will get. NPC energy
OG MW2 and MW3 were so much better than these reboots. Those two games are like Scorsese level plots compared to these.
I actually liked the campaign for the most part. the cinematics were cool and the gunplay felt crisp, and a lot of the missions were really gool imo. the "open world" missions were fucking terrible, however. something you didn't touch on was the difficulty scaling. I played all of it on Hardend, and instead of improving the AI or making enemies do more damage. they just turned all Konni group type enemies into bullet sponges and 1 shot machines. and for normal enemies they could now just spot you from across the map, ruining some part of the stealth missions. good review tho
But Fry you had the game music off during the stream it might change the experience of the campaign 🤣😂
That's the issue. They turn off the music and expect why is it not engaging?
If that was the case, he shot his own foot for that.
I thought the campaign was decent but where it ended it felt like it was halfway through the story not the end. I know it’s not going to happen but there NEEDS to be an expansion to this campaign near the end of next year or midway through Which I know sounds bad but I’m not waiting 2+ years to see where it continues. But also yet again, this year should’ve been a year 2 for MWII with an expansion. It sounds like quite the task but couldn’t the devs overhaul the movement entirely if they wanted to? I always kept seeing posts about the slide being buffed in the latest updates so why couldn’t they just revise all of the movement?
Sledgehammer again back at it ruining the cod franchise. They’ve really gone downhill since WW2 in 2017 (just to correct myself they were doing pretty good with WW2).
Literally agree 100%, loved the campaign but the ending was cut at a cliff hanger. It felt like we now need to truly hunt Makarov and make him pay for taking out Soap. Missions were great and the story made complete sense. Hopefully they add more to this which would be a solid midyear update to send out. Glad someone else gave a realistic POV.
"Missions were great and the story made complete sense." BRO the story made no sense at all i dont know what you are on about.
the whole plot that is the whole campaign could've easily be 3-4 missions.
The whole Campaign is literally someone we already knew dies and Makarov escaping Prison thats it.
Watch Mrroflwaffles "The Complete Failure of the Modern Warfare 3 "Story" (Video Essay)" and you'll know why the story is absolute garbage

Sucks they flopped so hard on MWIII reboot. I guess it goes to show even tho the original MW3 was Sledgehammer's debut, Infinity Ward was probably what really made it good.
Cold War : bad game but hey let’s buy it, Vanguard : bad game but hey let’s buy it, MW3 : b…
Garbage game 🎉
I love how Price gets shot twice in the same cutscene as Soap but just walks it off 10 seconds later, meanwhile Soap's brains are blown out onto the ground, like what???
Fun fact, on the hijack mission... Start the mission, set your controller down, step out for a smoke or a sammy or whatever, come back and continue with the next mission as it has played out without any user input. Better use of your time than "playing" that shit.
That opening is savage.
Such a shame, because MW2019 had a great campaign overall and even MW2022 was good.
I think us as consumers shouldn't reward rushed products like this. Its become a real issue where gamed that still has a solid year left of development is being released and its everywhere... Its actually harder to think about a product i felt wow this is a game that actually is ready on day one... This year im not going to reward this and im choosing to skip this year
"The one year cycle isn't working anymore" wasn't the the consens ... like.... almost 10 years ago? 🤣
This is the EXACT reason why I hate when some people judge devs for delaying launch dates, because THIS is what you get if you rush a game. It doesn't matter how many people you have on a dev team... if a gave usually takes you "x" amount of years to finish, NEVER try to go under that time limit. It takes time to make a good game, and although the campaign in my opinion wasn't completely horrible, it was 100% half-assed. Moral of the story is to always take your time if you want to make a quality game, and if there are any future game devs here, when you grow and become really popular, DO NOT let all of the money go to your head and DONT be like Activision.
