    So we have concluded what? That a 1000cc bike accelerates faster than (almost) any car? Given the power/weight ratio, that's hardly surprising.

    Got that, but you forgot other factors.
    Actually pressure doesn't matter - I wanted to say downforce but used the wrong term. To my understanding leaning only prevents the bike from flipping over. The car doesn't have to lean, because it has a wider base. What prevents the car or bike to slide out of the corner is the friction vs. the centrifugal force. You can only increase that by applying more contact surface/area on the road, material with more grip, and/or more downforce.

      MLGTruckDriver for an in line drag the bike is usually the winner.on you tube their is a video that all of you need to watch.dont remember the title but on a road couse with two pro-drivers.the car leaves the bike at will.any time he wants the bike cant take curves.just type in bike vs car.even when the inlines come up the bike doesnt have enough time to catch the car.several times on my bike I dont run with cars they have more safty for one thing.if I tumble its different.

    so an die 200 km/h ist auf der Landstraße sehr empfehlenswert.....Da freut sich der ortsansässige Bestatter. Und einen Ferrari zu überholen, den ein Holländer fährt ist kein Problem. In Holland werden Ferrari nur mit 2 Gängen ausgeliefert, weil die eh nie schneller als 130 fahren. Dazu aber mit Anhängerkupplung :-)

    Gotta love German roads :) as there are unresricted zones where you can push it :) and sometimes you see amazing cars like that Ferrari. On the way to the Nurburgring a few weeks ago i was passed by a 2013 Dodge Viper Track Attack pack and a Porsche GT3. I was doing around 120-130 MPH but they passed me easily doing 180 MPH+ on the A1

    Not by any stock Ferrari. People have to understand how incredibly a 1000cc bike accelerates. Power to weight ratio is everything. Straight 4 engines like this one develop up to 190 hp, while the bike + driver weigh about 260 kg. That is about 1,3 kg per horsepower.

    I just got my GXSR 1000 **TODAY**!
    It's a 2011 that shat in the dealership for 2 years so it's brand new. I have only done my dad's touring bikes up untill now so I am treating this like having to learn to ride all over again.
    I don't think I'll be doing wild stuff like this guy. I just plan to enjoy the woods and the outdoors and the handling, but I just have way too much awe for such a fine-tuned racing machine to be wreckless with it.

    My 07' GSX R1000 with 190bhp, Yoshimura exhaust,Power Commander, K&N Filter and mod'd clutch will kill any car on any highway. Top speed is 197mph @ 14,000. And I've smoked em' all on the Colorado highways where I live.

    FYI.... Pressure = Force/Area,the bike exerts more pressure on the road. The point of the previous comment is that the car has a greater radial inertia through the corner, thus it has a greater horizontal force for the friction to resist. Bikes do not have this problem as much because we can lean :) The car requires the additional down force to increase the pressure to be able to corner, bikes do not need this :P

    Performance bikes are faster than performance cars. However, most decent drivers can take the car, but to get the bike to win against the average driver in a fast car, you have to have a very good rider. The Ducati Panigale was raced against a Ferrari 458 and won both on the track and drag strip. Remember though, that was an expert rider and driver. You replace both rider and driver with average people, the car wins.

    It is there because all hydraulic brake systems need a reservrior somewhere. this reservrior always has to be the highest point of the hydraulic system it is supplying, so that means it has to be above the brake lever. They are there on all bikes, but you might have not recognized it before as I believe it is usually a black sealed box looking container, not a jar looking one. they are there above the back brake lever too if you look.

    That gixer wasn't pushing it that hard and the Ferrari gave up as soon as he was clear of the other bike. Far from the GSXR 1000 KILLS FERRARI especially when the Ferrari wasn't trying.
    If that biker had real balls he'd of been backin it up into the corners not just rolling off the throttle.
    The description should say. Pansie on a Gixer wanted and Mr I've got a baby dick Ferrari wouldn't oblige.

    It's all about the driver, a driver who knows what he's doing can drive a motorcycle faster than a car on track. At Nurburgring Nordschleife, a 458 did a lap in 7.32 and a GSXR1000 in 7.46. But then again a R1 did it in 7.10, so it's quite much about the driver. A bike is trickier at a circuit

      Yep, die Kurventechnik besonders in Linkskurven ist ein Graus..man fängt die Kurve aussen an und nicht innen..

    this shows that whoever was driving the Ferrari was not trying to keep up with the gsx,whoever was on the suzi wasn't even going that fast, and at the end some time later the Ferrari just plods on by,i can imagine the driver thinking "whatever' ha ha.

    dangerous overtake! ...watch the junction on left hand side as bike passes the Ferrari.....if a car had appeared and exited from that junction as the bike passed, that biker's in big trouble! :-/

    Nice riding mate. Forget all the 'haters'! You had fun riding and used the accleration the Gixer thou has. Of course all circumstances can be different with bikes vs cars etc. Nevertheless, you have shared a great vid of what happened on that day!

    one track doesnt mean "cars eat bikes," that's an overly broad statement. It totally depends on the situation whether a car will beat a bike or the other way around

    Braking early and gassing early have nothing to do with corner speed itself. If we're talking about a circular track, a sportbike corner speed is faster than that of a car.

    Even on a racetrack a professional driver has no chance with a 430 Cabrio against a professional bike pilot riding a 1000cc Superbike.

    He's right, why do people think bikes corner faster? Think how much more tire the Ferrari has in contact with the road. It's also much easier to drive fast in a car.

    I always figured cars would be able to corner 'faster'. If you ignore downforce then in theory the max g's you could pull would be equal to your coefficient of friction (approaching 1, or slightly greater with sticky tyres). Cars have the benefit of aerodynamics to increase downforce which is why I thought they can (theoretically) achieve higher g's in corners. Anything without aero downforce is inherently limited. PS don't flame me - genuine interest here. I ride a bike.

    Haven't seen his other videos, but in this case, the Ferrari did try to race even if for a little bit. The driver suddenly gunned his engine and overtook the motorcycle in front of him. Most cars are no match for a sports bike's acceleration. A car can beat a sports bike only when it's a long enough stretch so that the bike stops to accelerate. Cars can reach higher speeds.

    Yes
    The advantage is not grip, nor power to weight. My car can handle=my bike of same cost in g-loading. My car stops better on most surfaces due to stability. To stop as hard as my car, bike goes nose over or severe unstable. My car can brake into corner as well if need be.
    Bike advantage=APEX of corner. The bike can cut a shallower turn by making use of 9ft of lateral lane travel compared to 2ft for the car. Wider turn is what makes the bike fast.

    A bike against a car is no contest. The bike is so much lighter so the acceleration is so much faster. But if you need to compensate for something you're lacking who am i to argue.

    The Ferrari didn't stop accelerating after 3 seconds, that was your eyes playing tricks on you.
    What you actually saw was what the difference looks like when a GSXR 1000 (0-100mph in 5.5 seconds) looks like when it out accelerates and overtakes a Ferrari F430 (0-100mph 9 seconds). Yes, that sort of difference makes it look like the Ferrari suddenly applied its handbrake.

    Jarvisx51, you are absolutely wrong. Cars can definitely whip a bike thru the corners. But bikes have immense power to weight ratio AND the swept area of the brakes vs. the bike's weight is much greater. However, the short wheelbase of a bike works against them when braking.
    Nonetheless, bikes can easily out-accelerate a car and they can also out-brake them by a bit. But there is NO doubt that a car (not a friggin' Corolla for Heaven's sake!) can carry more speed thru the corners.

    Except the guy in a Ferrari has a huge pocketbook and probably can have any babe ,any home he wants. Guy on gsxr could live in a trailer park for all we know. Oh, and a little pea gravel or a deer in the road will not kill the Ferrari driver.

    After riding a motorcycle I feel bad for people who drop hundreds of thousands of dollars on sports cars. Yeah, they're pretty dece, but nothing beats the thrill of acceleration on a motorcycle.

    You would think designers of that bike would put it in a much less-noticable position on the bike and put a low warning light on the speedometer. Maybe they want you to notice it every time you look at the handlebars.

    Hi! I'm a car and bikes fan. I understand that compare a car with a bike, it's like compare a truck with a car. Doesn't matter how big is your engine, how much power it has, nothing win against physics. It's not just about prize, it's about safety, status, luxury etc. Would you transport your grandparents, child, parents in a bike? Which one do you prefer? How would a car without turbos accelerate like a superbike? It's 180 kg against 1800kg. So, you need torque a lot. Think about it. :)

    You need to research stats on the 2 machines. That Ferrari wont touch any liter bike and the GSXR is the fastest stock liter bike in production.

    Hi, i know the pressure has nothing to do with it, was just stating the bike exerts more pressure :p The bike maintains a balance in force between the centrifugal and gravitational in order to lean and the torque difference in wheel radius causes the bike to steer. On a free body diagram when assessing these things, you sum the forces in x and y respectively. A car has a greater force in x than a bike, that was my original point. A car requires a greater down force to balance the forces.

    No it's true. Super cars have more running track on the ground than bikes do. They simply have more grip. If we are talking 500,000 dollar super car versus a 16,000 dollar superbike, then yeah the bike would lose in the bends, but not the straights.
    But, considering it takes a half a million dollars to even get close to touching a literbike, that's pretty damn impressive by all stretches of the word. Hope this helped.

    Wtf do you think? That is absolutely correct. A sportscar produces a lot of downforce, which enables it to corner with more than 1g. No bike can do that.

    Speaking as a current biker who's previously owned a Ferrari ... yes the Ferrari can. Cars with 4x shoe-sized contact patches V a bike with 2x credit-card sized contact patches will win. And a car doesnt have to worry about gravel, diesel, white lines, tar lines ...
    Now straight lines mind ... bikey-go-bye-bye

    Obviously it doesn't have as much power, if the bike was as big as the Ferrari and they kept the same power to weight ratio, the bike would piss all over the Ferrari. Power to Weight is more important that overall power figures

    I don't understand this, I'm a biker and a car driver, why are some car drivers and bike riders on opposite sides now, we used to be all on the same side, what has changed.
    Chill out some bikes go faster than cars some cars go faster than bikes, respect for each other dudes respect.
    I can appreciate a nice car just as much as I can apreciate a nice bike, joined up as we used to be and it is much harder to take us on seperate and the govt do as they like.

    I assume that the GSXR didn't have slicks either.
    IMHO, people think that bike are faster in corners because most car drivers use their car only to move and the typical sport car owner is a rich man who only want to show his wealth, while riders often want to go fast. Besides, the lack of acceleration of many cars allow the bikes to get an unassailable lead. I think that if drivers were all as gritty as riders, you would find out that a convertible Ferrari can beat many bikes in twisty roads.

    also... another response. Cornering capabilities of a motorcycle have very little to do with steering. and are much more about the grip in the tyres, as a number of people here have said. I'll continue and restate that the car has 4 big dirty contact patches and when a bike leans over it has 2 very small ones. Grip is a limiting factor in cornering. that's a fact!
    Again I say to you... PLEASE CALM DOWN!

    I love youtube debates. My favorite argument is that cars handle better than bikes because they have 4 wheels. By that argument, a Toyota Corolla handles better than a sport bike. By the same argument, a Semi with 10 wheels handles better than any car. This is obviously not true. If you want to end this argument quickly, then look at solid facts outside of youtube videos. Look at which vehicles hold the lap records at famous racetracks such as Laguna Seca. I'll leave the surprise up to you.

    Modified Bike > Modified Car
    Superbike > Supercar
    Skilled Rider > Skilled Car Driver

    This is given that both sides are in equal categories, with exception to the last bit where the cardriver hates bikers then the cardriver gets placed into the scientifically proven "Twat" category.

    Why do i need to explain? Its power to weight ratio is supreme, and then there is weight shifting. Ever done some bike riding on a 195HP stock superbike? Ever raced one on a track? If you would have, you would have known this.
    PS They almost always show extreme tuned cars against stock bikes on youtube, and even those almost all bite the dust. Put 15K in a 15K bike for tuning... and you're pretty much the king of the road.

    in germany where this was shot , if someone overtakes you, you aren´t allowed to speed up and you need to make him pass the dangerous situation quick and elegant, if any chance the biker would crash frontally into abnother car and it could be proven the ferrari was racing him , the ferrari driver will face a " killing" case before the court

    17 year olds arent ready for 1400cc bikes no matter how many dirtbikes you have ridden. Even some adults ive seen cant handle a 1400cc and be responsible with it. that said, good luck dont make dumb choices a zx14 is not for going 180mph down the highway its getting to 60mph in under 2 seconds

    people sometimes wonder why a incredible motor,returns such poor fuel economy at cruise speeds.Air resistance,pressure drag.Enclose a big Sukuki in a enclosed body ,all of a sudden it goes from say 40 miles per gallon to 80 plus.I'm not saying every motorcycle should have a streamlined body on it,but we should have choices.They banned streamlining on moto gp racers way back,why,because they were too fast.So much for progress.

    Der Titel klingt schon etwas sehr übertrieben wie ich finde. Zur Zeit fahre ich bspw. eine getunte ZX14 mit 225 PS auf dem Leistungsstand. 0-100 sind in ca. 2,5 sek möglich und 0-200 knapp deutlich unter 7 sekunden. Das Leistungsgewicht betrgt also ca. 1,2 PS pro kg. Damit sind Werte vorhanden die eine aktuellen 1200 PS starken Bugatti Veyron schlagen aber ich halte absolut nichts von diesen Schwanzvergleichen und lasse mich auch nicht i-welche Rennen ein. Natürlich überkommt es mich mal einen drängeldem Porsche oder Audi zu zeigen wo der Hammer hängt aber das geschieht nur kurz und schmerzlos..danch können die mich gerne überholen. Alles andere ist zu gefährlich und nur ne Frage der Zeit bis man den Löffel abgibt..egal wie gut man fährt. Sind also nicht alle Biker oder Racer gleichzusetzen...
