@aztecwarriorz1 that is a very common scenario = oligarchy. Same thing in Russia and the USA is also moving in that direction. They are smart businessmen for sure but they had special access and favors and didn't do everything independently. When the government privatizes formerly nationalized industries they put their friends in charge.

You are right. At the time I made the video, I did not find specific information that Slim owned a stake in KPN, but only that he had made offers to acquire part of the company. However, researching again, I discovered a news story from 2016 confirming that he actually owned a small part (4.8%) of KPN.
A very wise man he is. Some say he got help from gov't etc etc...everyone gets help from the gov't. Once you've got a good plan that would be beneficial & makes sense of course....its incentive. If not he would have just gone elsewhere & do the same business. The man simply has good work ethics, lots of experience & is wise. Truely admire how he has been an example of a real man & leader in his home. No wild crazy behaviour. His wife passed & thats it, no re-marriage, no problems. He's got his head screwed on tight!
Thank you very much for your comment! What you said makes a lot of sense, and in fact he has led a scandal-free, discreet private life, and has the merit of always being on good terms with his children and grandchildren. He also strikes me as a patriot.
Sounds like he has a clear vision for good investments. You’d be surprised how many millionaires or billionaires make absolutely terrible investment decisions.
Maybe, in Slim's case, he really has a good business acumen, because his father, who fled from Lebanon, already had a good business acumen and taught this to his son since he was little. But, of course, as Slim has prospered, he must certainly have involved competent experts to help him make more informed decisions in his companies.

He was allowed to be a Monopoly in Mexico thanks to Carlos Salinas de Gortarri in the 1990s which helped him become who he is now.
