    Thank you for this great tutorial! I need to get a pair of these specialized tools, because I've got way too many floppy pocket watch bows 😂. Liked & subbed!

    Isn't there a real chance of unavoidably denting the bow with the first tool as the jaws are straight-edged rather than curved to match the bow?

      Great question! There is a chance of denting or scratching the bow if you aren't gentle enough, as I emphasized in the video. If you believe that you may not be able to be as gentle as needed, or don't want to take that chance, you could use some type of material (like leather) in between the pliers and the bow. As far as I know, there is no other tool to use to do this. The tools I am using are antique tools, and it might be possible that someone has made a modern tool more fitting to the bow that I am not aware of. (If you find it, please enlighten me!). Hi, Can you tell me where to find replacement bows? Thank you, Thomas

      Hi Thomas I find most of my replacement bows on eBay. I think Dave’s Watch Parts. Com has some too. Hope this helps.

    How can I remove a really stuck bezel on a railroad pocket watch, it belonged to my father in law.

    • @myhobbiesarenotcheap
      @myhobbiesarenotcheap  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You may want to try wearing latex gloves to use as a grip to turn the bezel. If that doesn't work, put hot glue on a popsicle stick and lay it horizontally across the bezel and turn it counter clockwise. (Let the glue set a few min before you turn the stick.). The glue can easily be peeled off without damaging the finish. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    My pocket watch arms are faulty, they just hang down with gravity, and dont hold themselves up.. any ideas on what the problem is?

    • @myhobbiesarenotcheap

      Are you referring to the "bow"? If so, you can get bow replacements on eBay. Can you be more specific about what you are referring to as "arms"?

      @@buddajjl It sounds like the holes are probably worn or too large for the shaft that holds the hands on. They need to be adjusted. I made a video on how to tighten them up if you have the tool. If not, you might have to take it to a watch repair person to have them tighten them for you.
