There were two people there though if you look behind Reznov. So my guess is two people, passer-bys, CIA, or maybe some other people came by, found them, and rescued them. Maybe it was some of Zhao's people. Zhao could have had people with him in Afghanistan that followed the guys who dumped Mason and the others and rescued them. That's one idea at least.
I always thought that some locals who are not affiliated with the Mujahaddin had found them and helped them as we can see behind Reznov there is someone else with a horse. But since it was life or death situation and human mind is a interesting device, Mason registered it as Reznov doing it.

funny enough, Reznov is always wearing the exact same clothes that mason is wearing through out bo1 and 2. if you look at the opening cutscene to old wounds, you will see that the 2 people in the photo than woods shows David "section" mason, are alex mason on the left and woods on the right.
Well reznov doesn't AlWAYS wear the clothes mason is wearing during hallucinations you see in bo1 during veitnam missions you can see the clothes mason is wearing but if you noclip you will see that mason is actually wearing cloth hudson is wearing during the first Vietnam mission in bo1 when mason says "woods you look like hammered shit" yeah other than that reznov wear the same clothes as mason as seen jn rebirth mission

My theory is when mason rolled over he got up and wondered the desert he likely came in contact with ether locals or dispatched CIA agents after Hudson wasn’t responding anymore he then rode back to the location but from his POV he was still lying down not moving when reznov saved him

I always thought the most likely explanation was that Weaver was the one who saved them. He had been there as support working with another group of Mujahideen, and when he lost contact with the others, proceeded to scour the area until he found them; and Mason, being Mason, thought that he was seeing Reznov when he was really seeing Weaver. I think the developers left it intentionally ambiguous as to who saved them, but Weaver seems to be the most logical explanation to me. It's a shame he wasn't there to see that douchebag Kravchenko finally get what he deserved. It would've been so satisfying.

He does that in 1963 and then he contacts Hudson one more time, one day after Mason killed Dragovich. His last message was "Please tell Mason one last thing, this time it's freedom for both of us".
Despite the obvious Reznov hallucinations in BO1, a lot of things are quite arbitrary plot wise. Woods was thought to be dead at the end of BO1. Then he's back in bo2 somehow. I never understood how. Kravchenko as well. It seems like Woods Death in BO1 was entirely hallucinated. No clue what and how. There doesnt seem to be a clear explanation. Same for this scene. It may be Mason, it may be a random desert explorer. So go figure.

If you play bo2, first cutscene david and harper go and see woods and woods explains that kravchenko survived somehow and grabbed him and brought him to the congo and tortured him and a group of soldiers until it was just him and then locked him in a container. Which hudson and mason save him.

If we accept that they absurdly survived this, Krevshenkov suffered a major stab wound. Woods was fairly healthy. Krevshenkov would rather kill woods or run for his life at that point instead of capturing him. And knowing mason is still alive up in the office and letting him be makes no sense. Also woods says he saw his men die one by one. "His" men? These along with other weird arbitrary plot points of woods surviving are jus not making much sense.

And, Krav surving the injury is just something you have to accept for these games. They show characters do things that should get them injured severly all the time and they are fine. Black Ops games don't stick to realism when it isn't benficial.
@@Hamentsios10bro try to understand when Krav and woods falled down the gactually exploded early as we can see when Krav pulled the grenade pin he said " you will die with me" to woods and when they falled donw the grenade exploded in the air because woods and Krav jumped late while the grenade was starting to explode so they falled down woods got injured due to the impact of explosion and minor injuries from falling down also if you play this mission you will see after they get to Krav compound there were SOG team members there so after woods and Krav falled down they also got injuries due to the impact or Krav men came and rescued him and took woods and his team hostages that's what woods mentioned "I watched my men die one by one " in blak. Ops 2 or he found more prisners in the jungle

The finger argument always has been illegitimate as sometimes, you can see Reznov with or without his finger post-Vorkuta. It's just that 3arc most probably didn't care to do some hidden thing about it and they just used whatever model with or without the finger for no reason. One of the most explicit example is at the beginning of Rebirth Island mission : Reznov doesn't have his finger.
What if there's 2 reznov He's still alive in vorkuta or escaped vorkuta and went into hiding....and at the same time mason hallucinating reznov did those things I mean reznov is somehow alive while on the other hand everyone else thinks he's dead and mason hallucinating
