Ticket saying the era is weak all the time and saying any bigman would just cook in today is to dub's point. It's not just ticket tho all the oldheads can't accept evolution the game is different than it was
As an oldhead, I agree. I would say that young people are generally incapable of looking at players in their era and understand how good they were for that era. You need to be able to compare them to their times then apply that to say a "GOAT" conversation type thing (The lack of respect that guys give to older players essentially is unwarranted if looked at under the proper lens). As for old heads, they can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that the court is spaced, the rules are in place and the refs call what they call. Everyone is also more athletic and faster, speaks to why everyone gets hurt too. Their beef is with Adam Silver and the refs / My beef, as I don't actually like the game as it is, I think it's close though just gotta clean up stuff like flopping, fake fouling nonsense and allow some more defence. They are working on it though but eh, not so much the defence part. I not sure how they fix it either as I dont think handchecking coming back is the way. I got a wild Idea of widening/ lengthening the court, which in turn makes the 3 longer while also adding a 6th player on the court to help clog things back up a bit more. Anyway, just adding to it. I hear ya
Pirate I was proud as hell that you took up for Steph when they was talking about he a product of Kerr offense smh. That man the reason Kerr even created that offense. If what they said was true, why Dlo couldn't play offball when he was in Steph place? Plus Curry did move offball with Mark Jackson. He came from college playing that way. Oh and Dub takes about Curry is irrelevant cause I swear he said he hate him because of his looks or some dumb shit
He’s a heat fan. He gives Kerr and the team all the credit. But forget Riley was the coach for Miami at wade peak and had veterans surrounded around him. He also forgot how bad the warriors were when curry missed a season.
@@denimjeg and mj and Kobe went to another level in the triangle. Lebron got better all around game in Miami. Magic benefited from the Riley showtime lakers play style. So what’s the point of bringing up curry. Kd also went to another level in Kerr system but dub doesn’t hold that against him.
My problem is that these oldheads always say that past players are always just gonna magically equip these abilities and improve so rapidly. As if that shouldn’t be questioned. They’re just gonna be prolific playmakers, 3 point shooters, or extremely gifted defenders just cause of the era. We have thousands of examples of great players NEVER developing these traits but because their old they’ll just do it “just cause.” They don’t have to prove those qualities during their eras, they can just be gifted those abilities in this era cause this era is just so “weak, soft, and small.” They unknowingly disrespect this era of basketball without even giving it thought cause they don’t care. I always give older players the benefit of the doubt but I’m starting to just not care tbh because y’all don’t even consider that it might be disrespectful to todays game. So, why should I care how some 60 year old man feels that he’s forgotten?

I didn’t get where all the animosity from Dub came from on that Arvydas Sabonis segment. I don’t understand why if, based on what Chill has seen of Sabonis and Jokic that he thinks that Sabonis would be better than Jokic today, is such a disrespectful thing to say. Like, it’s just his opinion. Even if it may sound to Dub like he’s “disrespecting the younger generation,” why does that mean that that’s what he’s trying to do? It just sounds like Dub is trying to force an unnecessary agenda. Again, based on what Chill has seen, he has come to that conclusion. I don’t get why it needs to be disrespect. It’s just hoop talks, bro.
I get where Dub was coming from. These guys were legit just saying rookie MJ is the best scorer in this current NBA even with a broken jumpshot. Then they went on to say Sabonis would be better than a 2 time MVP and reigning champion in the middle of his peak. If you dont understand that youre discrediting this current NBA with that rhetoric, then I dont know what to say. If Low said "Jokic would cook the cokeheads in the 80's", then all of a sudden he'd be crazy. The double standards and disrespect is crazy.

But chill the offense that steph is in wouldn't be as effective if he wasn't in it its his gravity that helps make it so effective. You build your offense around the personnel that you have. 54:40 funny how this gets brought up everytime. These Center PF combos didn't last 20 seasons together. There were ebs and flows. The defensive talent is better today than before. Same with offense
If I watched this show when I started to get into basketball. I would have thought Jokic was a bum you throws the ball to 3 point shooters 7 times a game. In the same breath they say MJ would just transform into the best 3 point shooter and best passer at whim.
Proof ticket barely watches jokic. Sabonis was a great passer but there's no way in hell he was making the same dam passes. What we saw is not as good as jokic anywhere.
@@piratemccall Since I got your attention bro, do you think the Run TMC warriors could’ve given the bulls a run for their money in the 90s if they stayed together? Tim, Mully, and Rich only played 2 years together. But if they added a player like Anthony Mason who is a more offensively skilled Draymond, along w/ Mario Ellie and Sarunas, I think they could’ve pushed the Bulls (w/ Grant) to 7 and maybe steal one chip.
SGA is not better than Jamal Murray lmao. He is putting numbers on a non playoff team. He is unproven. Murray is a playoff riser that has done it on the biggest stage. He is proven. When SGA can do this on a contending team and the playoffs we can give him that credit.
The jokic disrespect gotta stop. No way sabonis better than jokic. He was amazing in europe but it was euro league way before it is what it is today once he got to the nba he wasn't even the best big in his time, jokic is the best player in the league as i comment this, idgaf about what if sabonis came along sooner because he didn't. I could do the same thing, what if jokic was an amazing paint protector then there would be no conversation. I hate what ifs in this context
I think the point Ron's making that Mars may not be getting is that unlike Steph or KD, Wade had 5 consecutive years of his prime where he had no teammates that could help him win. Curry and KD had down years, sure, but they weren't multiple years consecutively the same way it was with Wade
I felt he was being a bit disingenuous though. He says he knows right away he can get a championship from Wade. Yes you can get a championship from Wade when he has a still dominant Shaq as the best player on the team their first year together and arguably still the best player in 06 before the playoffs. I think KD could’ve done the same thing with Shaq in his second or third year. 🤷🏿♂️
Is the trolling to much??? I’ll genuinely cut back and only speak when I have a genuine take other than that I’ll remain silent Fred if the trolling is getting obnoxious
1:00:08 Luka is significantly better with significantly less minutes. His numbers aren’t going to translate. Sabonis played starter minutes and is supposed to be in his prime at that time. Unless the league is better, or slower, why should the numbers not translate.

I hear ya
I mean the big was better back then lol wtf
Ppl forget steph was already setting 3 pt records before Kerr ever showed up. And was doing it while playing a “traditional” pg role
Steph clearly went to another level in kerrs system idky ppl try to fight that
@@denimjeg and mj and Kobe went to another level in the triangle.
Lebron got better all around game in Miami.
Magic benefited from the Riley showtime lakers play style.
So what’s the point of bringing up curry.
Kd also went to another level in Kerr system but dub doesn’t hold that against him.
@@leroyflex1258 every player u named (except Kobe cuz he was too young) were already solidified superstars before joining that situation. Steph wasnt
Fr. This why I always respect older players but I dislike their fans.
@@Matthew-xl5bc imma stop respecting old players, imma push some nasty ass agendas just because apparently every old player could translate but only like 2% of players now can translate to earlier eras. Because they’re soft. And bob saying curry wouldn’t play in the 80s or 90s because he doesn’t play defense might be the worst take this week
@@taquaywhite4503I try to separate old players from older fans. I'm not going hate on MJ, Bird, Hakeem and more because old heads are annoying.

Pirate came in calling everyone out 😂. Respect to Domo for admitting to not knowing many European players. No one can know EVERYTHING about basketball and Domo knows that
jokic is literally a sabonis clone and domo and dub have the nerve to say its disrespectful to compare him to jokic and the current nba players lmao
Dub is a casual lmaoooo he really tried to compare euro numbers to nba numbers
Dub was so funny when he was trying to talk Euroleague hoops, he clearly never watched a game.
