Omg THIS PART. I’m sorry to say but uk flats and houses sure are... something else 😂 I have a lot of friends in London and stuff like mold, damp, SLUGS (?!) seem to be a lot more common there.
It’s so wonderful to see how genuinely excited and appreciative you are for your home. I love how real you are. So many you tubers and influencers seem to have lost that but you haven’t. I love watching you because you just feel like my fellow Virgo friend x
Loved the video and I‘m very excited for your home content. But I have to say - LOVE your use of ‚they‘ when referring to the people asking the questions. In the podcast as well. I really appreciate that and I‘m guessing a lot of viewers do ❤️
I love watching how you and Mark are nesting and settling in. I really enjoy the home tours particularly when you talk in your kitchen. I can't wait for summer vlogs in your garden.
I’m currently house hunting as I have sold my flat. I found THE house but someone put an offer in higher than mine and I couldn’t match it. I literally sobbed; the house hunt continues. X
Oh this is the worst!! Sending lots of love Gail! (Also I know other people’s stories are not what you want to hear right now but we lost out on what we thought was our dream house three years ago because we couldn’t find a buyer for our flat and a cash buyer swooped in on the one we wanted and we were gutted - I definitely cried too. Turns out it was a blessing in disguise as it gave us a chance to stay put and save. Fingers crossed for you that it all works out ❤️) xx
I’m currently buying my first flat. Found what I thought was the perfect one and it didn’t work out. I cried too :( a few months later and I’ve found another amazing property. Sendings hugs xx
Anna, my boyfriend (whom I really see as 'my Mark') and I are moving into our first flat together in a few weeks. Its a rented flat so we don't be doing any renovation but I've been living through your home videos and this is making me so excited!! xxx
We are currently searching for our first home and the first one we viewed we put an offer in for and the more we thought about it afterwards it wasn’t for us.. the pressure is real!! A few months later we are still searching.. we have a viewing on a house that we fell in love with and it has 45 viewings on it in two days 🤯 good luck with your renovations!!
I had that GUT feeling when i viewed a house as i needed an extra bedroom and space from the flat i was living in, lucky for me it was the first house i viewed . Been here just over three years now and feel i have it just the way i want it . Can't wait to see the renovations x
Just love you girl! One thing to be mindful of is storing makeup in a bathroom. As the shower humidity can create the perfect environment for bacteria to grow on unsealed makeup
I still can't figure out the layout of the house and how many rooms there are and that bugs me because I'm obsessed with floor plans 😂 but I understand you not wanting to share every little thing about the place you live and protect your privacy.
I loved how you and Mark decorated or the make over that was done on your old flat. So excited to see what you do with this house which looks amazing already but change is always good. Thanks for sharing with us. #foreverhome
I am so excited to hear about your first year with your garden! I started utilizing my backyard 3-4 years ago, and every year, I feel like I learn something new about my space (because there are standard things for each area but shading in backyard and soil can vary)
We live in a very old house, built in the 1800's. We lived with the very narrow staircase and shallow stairs for 20 years before having them re-done in the midst of a major remodel (due to areal flooding). But, I STILL quote Frau Blucher from Young Frankenstein when new guests come over...and I STILL giggle every time. You have to make the best of it :)
Oh old building woes! I've lived in a flat in a 100+ year old building in London for the past 4 years - I was dazzled by the gorgeous finish and didn't look too closely before moving in, I was not prepared for the thin walls, old plumbing, and rickety old windows letting in cold air all winter! I still love it, there's definitely a charm to older properties, but I'm ready for something more modern
I bought my first home this summer as well and I am SO HAPPY to no longer share walls with annoying neighbors. Anytime i miss the city i think about having neighbors in an apartment building and then i feel better 😂 I can’t wait to see what you do with your garden, I’m so excited to start working on mine 😁
If the tiny atic you have isn't useable as storage or if you're not planning on using it. I highly recommend eliminating it and having higher ceilings in the toprooms. It's not only beautiful but makes the rooms visualy bigger and have more character! Love your house ;) hugs from Belgium
It is 3 am where I am in Canada, my normal bedtime is 9:30, and I don’t even care that this ✨26 minutes of heaven✨ is going to further derail my sleep.
I can completely understand. I lived in flats my entire life, when I moved into the house, the slugs and ants were my daily nightmare, the "perks" of having a garden.
I know the pain of slug invasions in the house! I can thoroughly recommend Richard Jackson's slug treatment. So looking forward to seeing how the house evolves with you two xx
When I was a student I lived in a house for a short period where we also had a nightly slug parade🤢😅 but they got into all the kitchen cupboards and left lovely slime trails across plates etc! Hopefully you are able to get yours sorted soon ❤️
We have closing dates, in and out or out and in, thankfully. We didn't go with our guts on a house, the renovations at the time we couldn't see it in parts over the years, so it overwhelmed us at the time. We did buy good, but years later confessed to one another we still thought of that other house 😪 love these videos, so happy for you both 👌🇨🇦
we also moved to what we hope is our forever home in 2020 and are so happy. Luckily we like doing DIY and fixes, bc as my mom and my FIL tell us all the time - compared to a flat - "you are NEVER done working in and renovating your house", it's so true 😂. Like you think about the big renovations, but in reality you deal everyday with a random things like lights that have broken, ants that decided to nest in the kitchen, some plant that needs tlc in the garden, etc.
Your hair looks lovely!!😍 Also, we had a slug parade too, so gross! Can recommend copper tape on the floor near the gaps as they won't cross it, and also attach copper netting at the air vents outside as ours were coming in through those!!
Loving the house content, absolute quality, and really enjoyed this video. We had the Nightly Slug Parade in the kitchen when we first moved into our house too! Turned out to be the seals on our very old doors in the end, and has happened far less ever since we sorted that out. Grim night when I came downstairs mostly asleep in the early days of living here and stepped on one (thankfully while wearing socks), which was how the problem was discovered. Cringe.
Still quite thrilled to see the #edithome and look forward to you sharing the updates as they happen or as they're completed. The slug parade made me giggle. ❤
Love the house, you two seem so happy there! Can't wait to see all the renovation videos 😊 would you be able to put together a sort of checklist of things to check for when buying a house? Would be so useful! X
I used to struggle with a nightly slug parade (was massively freaked out) but i ran table salt all round the edge of the room and never saw them again!
So excited for you guys! Really looking forward to seeing your renovations!! One of my favorite elements with Lilly's reno was the glass door/wall in her kitchen. So gorgeous look. Question is your home a standalone home? I know in the Europe it usually attach to others (we call it row houses or some are duplex)
Great video! Would love to have heard about what you did compromise on, to what degree, how you weighed things in your mind and how you negotiated what you each really wanted. Were there things that you were surprised that you could compromise on? Thanks!
Love this! We definitely compromised on location massively which is something we never thought we would do, but it meant that we ticked absolutely everything off of our list that we wanted. We couldn’t have got anywhere near that in our dream location x
Really enjoyed this Q&A! I was wondering if you'd mind sharing one of Mark's spreadsheets (obviously removing personal information and prices), just as an inspiration as how to organise renovations etc? I think it could be really useful. xx
Same! We are so lucky our house has the original one - the neighbours found their one in pieces in the garden when they moved in 😭😭 How could anyone do that?!!
Thanks...if you only have the nightly slugs, you are so fortunate...lol. I received my planner on Friday. It is lovely. The yearly calendar is great, love the gold but it is so hard to see. Perhaps a darker colour would be better...but it is lovely. I’m still discovering the planner. Wish there was a pouch to put a few things for the planner in. I used little tabs and the pen. Not sitting at a desk which is where I would have all the supplies. Love the quality, don’t mean to be negative. Got the whole set. Still deciding on what to do with the plain book...well done...
What kind of property is it in terms of terraced/ detached? You mentioned not being able to hear your neighbours and I realised we hadn't seen it from the front (understandable for privacy concerns) but made me curious
I have a question about your mortgage coming due. Would you have to pay for your mortgage with the previous owners living there? Could you not force them out? I would not be happy about paying a mortgage on a house someone else lives in.
We took a break from paying our mortgage whilst we lived with my parents, so we weren’t paying it for those three months. But after those three months were up we either had to restart the mortgage on the new house and be moved in, or if the house wasn’t ready pay a big fee to pay our mortgage off early (called an early redemption fee) and start our mortgage application from scratch which would have taken ages to start again. So we were never paying a mortgage on a house someone else lived in, but we just had a three month clock to get in without paying a huge fee x
Thank you. I could have listened to you much longer too! My husband is a Virgo ♍️, maybe that’s why I like you so much. I’m looking forward to more house content and vlogs. 💛
We've just had an offer accepted on our first house which also needs renovating so this video was brilliant timing! So exciting, bring on the house content please! 🙏
I think the only thing with the stairs is that it becomes a fall risk when you're elderly. ;-) But on the other hand, going up stairs like those might keep you nimble! :-)
Love it! Could watch about 10 more of those videos:D Also- my parents have an old-ish house and I remember whenever I was home alone our three dogs used to sit at the base of the stairs and growl and bark at something up there....sooo creepy
The money that goes into maintaining older homes is wild sometimes haha, my first property was Victorian and I LOVED it but my god the money that went into stuff that you don’t see, fixing the roof, plumbing, electrics, plastering, wood treatment... such a journey but an exciting one for sure and the end result 👌🏼💕 xxx
I had a Nightly Slug Parade in my first private student accommodation - it's not the finest thing to see when you're trying to have your dinner 😂I've thoroughly been enjoying your videos during lockdown, and they definitely give me something to look forward to at the end of a shit week 😂Thank you, and stay safe 💞
I bet damp is pretty common where you are. I'd be so sick from it , I should have been a bubble boy or something! It's such a beautiful place though, and it's all a little piece of you, has so much personality and charm! I'm glad it found its rightful owners! Xo love from the Canadas!!
Anna, I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but have a good ol’ chuckle at the Nightly Slug Parade 🐌🐌🐌
I’m pleased to report that the nightly slug parades have been temporarily suspended thanks to some expanding foam and Mark’s DIY skills 😂
Mark, coming throughhhh like an absolute hero 👏🏻
Lovely to see how happy you are in your home!
Omg THIS PART. I’m sorry to say but uk flats and houses sure are... something else 😂 I have a lot of friends in London and stuff like mold, damp, SLUGS (?!) seem to be a lot more common there.
I'm my UK student house I used to wake up with slug trails over my bed 😬😬 had to go crazy with the salt every few days 😂
@@farligtfarligt Oh yes. I rented a flat in East Dulwich and the kitchen was a slug-o-rama.
Anna saying she could answer another 30 questions.... this could have been an hour long and I'd still want more
Noted 😂❤️
Me too 😂😂
'There's house content for years...you're gonna be sick of it!' Challenge accepted, I can't wait! x
It’s so wonderful to see how genuinely excited and appreciative you are for your home. I love how real you are. So many you tubers and influencers seem to have lost that but you haven’t. I love watching you because you just feel like my fellow Virgo friend x
Awww thank you Karris xx
Anna talking to the friendly ghosts and the nightly slug parade was the laugh I needed this sunday morning 😂
I am just loving these vids Anna!!! Xx
Jamie!! Can’t wait for your videos too 🏡🙌🏡🙌
I cannot wait for yours Jamie!!!!!
Loved the video and I‘m very excited for your home content.
But I have to say - LOVE your use of ‚they‘ when referring to the people asking the questions. In the podcast as well. I really appreciate that and I‘m guessing a lot of viewers do ❤️
ALSO would LOVE to see what Marks project scope looks like. Super dorky but would love to hear from him and how he’s mapped it all out
Living for your hair in this video! That extra length is so lovely.
Thank you!! X
Agreed! She absolutely suit the longer hair so well 😊
I love watching how you and Mark are nesting and settling in. I really enjoy the home tours particularly when you talk in your kitchen. I can't wait for summer vlogs in your garden.
No, I didn't watch the video yet. Yes, I'm already obsessed.
Now this I relate to 😂
I’m currently house hunting as I have sold my flat. I found THE house but someone put an offer in higher than mine and I couldn’t match it. I literally sobbed; the house hunt continues. X
Heartbreaking. Good luck

As a new home owner in America, it has been super fun comparing experiences along the way. Thank you for continuing to share!
So happy to see your beautiful home transform. It is such a fun process. Enjoy every moment even the frustrating ones!
Anna, my boyfriend (whom I really see as 'my Mark') and I are moving into our first flat together in a few weeks. Its a rented flat so we don't be doing any renovation but I've been living through your home videos and this is making me so excited!! xxx
Congrats Julie!! Definitely check out @grillodesigns on Instagram - she has some great DIYS that you can do in rentals! X

Same! Love a floor plan! Would love to share, but obviously there are privacy concerns. Definitely more tours and bits and bobs to show though xx
I'd recommend second hand furniture for temporary solutions. It's equally as cheap as IKEA but much more sustainable XX
I loved how you and Mark decorated or the make over that was done on your old flat. So excited to see what you do with this house which looks amazing already but change is always good. Thanks for sharing with us. #foreverhome
Congratulations on your lovely new home. Also enjoying your travel vlogs while on Covid lockdown on a snowy winter's day.
I am so excited to hear about your first year with your garden! I started utilizing my backyard 3-4 years ago, and every year, I feel like I learn something new about my space (because there are standard things for each area but shading in backyard and soil can vary)
I think Boric Acid - purchased in the laundry section of the supermarket here in the US - might help with your slug problem. Lovely house!
I need a part 2 of this!!! Can listen to you talk about your house all day 😍
Just bought my first flat and I absolutely had that gut feeling! The first think I thought when I walked inside was "I wanna live here" 😊
Hi Anna, hope that you will have something on your new garden or a house tour at some point... the new house looks lovely!!!
We live in a very old house, built in the 1800's. Would love to see a house tour! I have a obsession with floor plans and love to see how different houses and buildings are layout!
Slug Parades are a real thing! One of my uni houses also had some slimy visitors and it was a Victorian terrace
We’ve just moved into our forever home and feel exactly the same - it just feels perfect! Congratulations on your gorgeous new place
Congratulations! X
You said the magic word for me "Quiet"🙌🙌. It's important and so rare in our days while we live in apartments and buildings. ❤❤
Same!! Noise really gets my blood pressure going 😂
Loved the video! You’re so lucky to have found that gorgeous house! 😍 I kept waiting for some footage of the rooms you were talking about...
If the tiny atic you have isn't useable as storage or if you're not planning on using it. I highly recommend eliminating it and having higher ceilings in the toprooms. It's not only beautiful but makes the rooms visualy bigger and have more character! Love your house ;) hugs from Belgium
Good idea! Thanks Hannah! X
In my experience it was helpful to live in our kitchen before renovating so we could see how best to configure.
Anna, you look so happy and excited when you talk about your future in this house!! So glad you and Mark are enjoying:)
21:45 THIS is why i idealise the idea of moving out of an appartment and into a house.... the quiet i wish i could have
It is 3 am where I am in Canada, my normal bedtime is 9:30, and I don’t even care that this ✨26 minutes of heaven✨ is going to further derail my sleep.
The pictures of the thumbnail looked so dreamy, I can’t wait to see more of your house
I can completely understand. I lived in flats my entire life, when I moved into the house, the slugs and ants were my daily nightmare, the "perks" of having a garden.
Loved this! We also broke the chain, sold up, moved 450 miles, rented, even moved into an Airbnb as we now do the work on the house! But so worth it
Glad it all worked out in the end! X
I know the pain of slug invasions in the house! I can thoroughly recommend Richard Jackson's slug treatment. So looking forward to seeing how the house evolves with you two xx
So excited for the many more years of house content to come!
When I was a student I lived in a house for a short period where we also had a nightly slug parade🤢😅 but they got into all the kitchen cupboards and left lovely slime trails across plates etc! Hopefully you are able to get yours sorted soon ❤️
The slime trails are the worst!! X
This video makes me feel so happy and excited! 😊 I feel so patient now with my own house hunt! It will be worth it in the end, no rush!
Best of luck with it! Xx

Love this video and all the questions answered. Such good info and just love your way of making us feel like friends! xx
N'awww, the 'nightly slug parade' sounds bizarrely cute, but i'm happy that they will need to relocate their promenades now :P

The bathroom cabinet painted black or a dark navy would be amazing!
Congrats Anna! So excited for you guys!

@@TheAnnaEdit ooh I will check them out as well! Thank you! X
So excited for this video!

Those fireplaces do something to me. Love a period feature 😂😍

@@TheAnnaEdit what a tragedy! :(
I will never get tired of house content!! We bought our flat about 1,5yrs ago and are still nowhere near done. There’s always something to do 😅😅
Thanks...if you only have the nightly slugs, you are so fortunate...lol.
Thanks for the feedback Wendy! So glad you’re enjoying using it all x
This makes me sooo excited to have my own house in the future!
LOL nightly slug parade, I love it haha
I love your house! All the fire places 😍 that was the one thing about my house that we had to compromise, I love a fireplace and it didn’t have one x
When we were looking for a house, we also viewed alot. We viewed over 100, because we both had to agree on the house. Also glad we didn't settle.
Oh noooo I absolutely love the kitchen in your new house!! My jaw dropped when I saw it, my dream kitchen xx a shame about the damp in there though!
What kind of property is it in terms of terraced/ detached? You mentioned not being able to hear your neighbours and I realised we hadn't seen it from the front (understandable for privacy concerns) but made me curious

Great feedback! Will do this in the future! X
There maybe a natural spray to discourage slugs I got a peppermint spray from Amazon to discourage the local pests it works great!
What a perfect start to my Sunday...I was so excited for this video :)
I have a question about your mortgage coming due. Would you have to pay for your mortgage with the previous owners living there? Could you not force them out? I would not be happy about paying a mortgage on a house someone else lives in.
