Just received my bottle of Turnbull & Asser yesterday. Wore it to work today. It wears pretty close to the skin but lasts pretty well. Definitely nice for the boardroom. It is true to Floris' DNA of being unmistakably British. Classy yet understated. I'm a huge fan of the house.

For an uncomplicated citrus scent, I'd have to go with Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne. It's just beautiful to me.
Floris London just has one of the most elegant perfumes bottles around. Display worthy!

First time I’ve seen a review on this house and you two did a superb job on this one. Sometimes it’s not all about the longevity but the quality and this bottle sure exudes that. My favorite citrus based scent is bright neroli by Ferrari. Have a wonderful day gents.

I thought Bleu de Channel right away! I am always looking for a daytime work scent that conveys class and I think this checks those boxes

I recently purchased this scent and pretty much agree with your review. My disappointment is that the scent is very light and I get only a couple hours before I can barely smell it. It IS a high class gentleman's scent and fits well with the Turnbull & Asser shop on Jermyn Street in London which I have been a few times while on holiday.

When I first sprayed it I thought it was just a light elegant citrus. However those top notes completely mask the heart which is sweet/wood/amber. Once the heart comes through it is a lovely warm/cozy/smiling frag.

"scent doesn't last the longest"....that is pretty much the way it goes with almost everything floris. as a huge fan of this house (sigh), I can tell you it's the norm. Probably has to do with their extensive use of citrus and lavender, which is almost the quintessential dna of anything Floris. They come across as what we could politely call old school to avoid saying old and boring. but I'm no spring chicken and maybe it's why I love them (is 43 old or just not that young?lol). Great video, gents. I may have to spend time getting to know this, which sadly costs too much (like so much of their stuff).

Did you ever own or sample their Vetiver? Even from the sample I had, that one in particular had very good staying power for me.

Henry M. I would have to disagree with you Henry. The only Floris that has longevity issues to me is Bergamotto di Positano. The EDTs from the house last pretty well to me. Honey Oud, Leather Oud, and 1962 last all day on me. I'm a huge fan of the house.

My favourite floris scent. Floris is the most well known and classic parfum houses. As a side note Ian Fleming said in one of his james bond books that floris 89 is what james wears. (also flemings favourite scent) Pretty stuffy horrible scent in my opinion. 71/72 is my favourite from them by far. Classy simple elegant and sexy in its simplicity.

@@TheVirtuoso883 ...But I still like to think of Floris No. 89 as the "James Bond Cologne". It is definitely the kind of fragrance a worldly mid-century English gentleman like a James Bond would have worn.

Never experienced Floris, would love to. I agree with Carlos, I just got TERRE Parfum and there’s no citrus hitting me either. I will say that Conde’s citrus is legit and sharp but most natural for me.

Beauty in its simplicity is a good way to describe. Five hours is not horrible for a freshie. Like Carlos has said before, nothing wrong with reapplying later at work 😀

  • @SirOreo62

I don’t find Floris 71/72 to be a citrus perfume at all. Yes, like many other perfumes, it has a pronounced citrus opening. But overtime, about one hour, the citrus notes are not prominent. Instead, the true core of the perfume is revealed. This is an aromatic woody perfume (aromatic from balsamic and resinous notes).

I bought this while in London from Floris. Too expensive for what you get. The longevity is horrible and the projection is horrendous. Yeah, the packaging is nice. Sure, the name is prestigious and classy. All of that means nothing if it doesn't last. Why would anyone spend a ton of money for a scent that only lasts on 2-3 hours before completely disappearing?

@@sp50 The scent is very nice, but the longevity was horrible for me. I gave it to my brother and it was horrible for him, too. I would price it where I said just on longevity alone. There are cheaper fragrances at discounters that far outlast this one.
