Can we just take a moment and appreciate the color palette of this game? It was always so fun to just drive around and enjoy the tracks for what they were.
One of the best show cases of beautiful art design and the perfect usage of light and fog on the original playstation. They really put a lot of thought into the overall look and feel of these tracks.
The intro is so freaking awesome, the cars are so beautiful, the gameplay is pretty damn good, the atmosphere is great, the racing tracks are absolutely amazing, the challenges are so damn good, playing as cop is so awesome, and the music is so amazing! Overall Need For Speed High Stakes is an absolute Amazing Need For Speed Game!
I got my first PS1 for my 11th birthday - best present I ever got btw. But my dad said I could pick a game out, and for some reason I decided to choose this game. What a great choice it was though. I spent countless hours and days playing this. My favourite car would have either been the Porsche 911 Turbo, or the McLaren F1 GTR, both cars I still love to this day! I used to use a cheat code, which when activated, you would use your horn and it would give you a speed boost and knock any cars in your path out of the way. Watching this footage back now, I really makes me appreciate how much of a beautiful game it was for its time.
This will forever be my favorite racing game of ALL FUQN TIME!!!!!! From the menu music (Paradigm Shift) and just the entire setting of this game is just a masterpiece man.... Glad I was able to be there during this time.

My favorite NFS. The game is great, the sound track is amazing, and at the time the ability to race for "pinks" and winner takes car off of losers memory card was something new& different.
There’s a trick method to that lol. 1. You can copy your saved data to the other memory card 2. Go to multiplayer race for pinks then win your car again then sell it 3. Go back to the save data on the memory card then copy it again. & then repeat step 2. Infinite money & car glitch as long as you copy the data over & over.
This game is what started teaching me to speak German lmao before I took actual German lessons, I would say what I thought they were saying to my family.

It's incredible how an 1998's game has such a engine sound fidelity. I mean, if you take for istance the F50 and compare the in-game sound (3:40:59) to what you hear in a video with the real car (th-cam.com/video/i-qk36fzMWg/w-d-xo.html @1:10), its pretty much the same!

I am surprised that you are able to control the Ferrari F50 in the International Supercar Series Tournament. I would select the Porsche 911 Turbo for it was the most stable at cornerning compared to the Ferrari F50 and the Lamborghini Diablo SV for these 2 cars tend to oversteer specially when racing in the Celtic Ruins circuit.
@@illyrianempire5830 I would pick the Porsche 911 Turbo due to how controllable it is even though it was slower than the Ferrari F50 and the Lamborghini Diablo SV thus bettering my chances in doing no damage runs.
Nfs 3 Hot pursuit would arguably be the best nfs on the PS1 but I spent the most hours playing this particular game so for me High stakes is the best ps1 nfs. :)
