The Nugget does make life easier for us these days…it’s spacious but still compact (especially for a family of 5) and it delivers so well…we are very happy indeed with it!

Looks great but surprised no one tried to open the cupboard behind with the lid up. I’m assuming you can’t and can only open it with the lid down.

Yes, good one Paul. You can open it a small way, but to access it properly, the lid needs to be down. However, we always put it down when finished with the toilet as this saves any mishaps with it flying down if it’s accidentally knocked. Thanks for the observation and comments!

A couple of thoughts as to why this shelf isn't standard. 1) manufacturers need to be careful with Gross Weight. The vehicle is approved up to a given weight. The difference between the curb weight and approved max weight is the 'Payload', such that as you add options the Payload decreases. The payload needs to cover 5x adults plus luggage, water etc.. 2) the other reason is pricing policy. Vehicle pricing is very competitive because everyone compares that, whilst options are a good way to make up your overall profit. It's not greed as such just the way many companies work. The best value is usually the base product with no options!

Thanks James, I hadn’t thought about the first point you made, and our van is probably fairly weight sensitive. As far as I am aware, Westfalia don’t even offer this as an option, which could be for the same reason, I guess. Thanks for commenting, all the best 👍🏻

Very, very minor splinter of the outer laminate which is not noticeable, and when the bolts are in, it looks perfect 👍🏻
