Rebirth is the most underrated ERRA song imo, prolly my fave from them. Guitar is sick and song structure is on another level. Anyone sleeping on Augment needs to change that. Easily one of the best front to back progressive metal records of all time.
Chris Couldn’t agree more man. It’s the album that really got me into the genre and regain my passion for guitar again after putting it down for about 10 years. Can def appreciate different elements of Impulse, Drift, and even Neon, but overall Augment has been the most timeless collection of songs for me. Hope more people check it out.

Ghost of Nothing, Unify, Skyline, The Architect, Frostbite are some of my favorite bangers by ERRA. You really can't go wrong with anything from their catalog though... I think they are due for a new album sometime this year too...
The sound you are referring to at 3:26 (which you heard around 3:11) is called a minor 2nd interval. It is two notes that are only a semitone apart from each other, which creates a very dissonant/harsh sound when played together. Sounds like a string bend is involved here, too.
I feel like these guys have tons of potential, they keep scratching the surface of greatness, but i can’t say they’ve every been truly great. That said, this song and Eye of God are excellent.
