- This week I'm making an outfit inspired by some of the looks from Maison Margiela's Couture Spring 2024 Collection! (btw I never explained what I was sick with and I think it was a stomach bug). I'll be uploading weekly for the next few weeks so make sure to subscribe so you can catch all that extra content!
I love seeing you use thrifted materials for things like these! I adore proper historical costuming, but I feel like it gets very consumer-y at some point and very expensive VERY quickly when we start talking about the proper grades of wools and linens... I love seeing people mke pretty things with more accessible materials! This is lovely work ❤
What a treat, weekly uploads? Yes!
I havent seen that collection before, and your interpretation is such a delight!
I admire your talent for using upcycled material, like this outfit looks so cool!
+ love the hair!
Loved the Margeila collection and this is such a good take on it! It came out looking so cool
omg thank you so much!
love the swooshiness of the skirt, hope you're feeling better!
Me too! and yes feeling much better thanks so much for asking!
Very pretty 😀
I love the idea of using D rings. I’m sad that they didn’t work out.
I wish it would have worked out too they were SO easy, I might have to do some further experimenting lol
You ate with this look
Love It
I am in compleet agreement, you can have have enough corsets/stay. Gental request for advice: My only issue: my boning always finds a way to poke through the fabric. I have already tried cutting smaller than the length of channel, blunting the sharp edges with fire and sewing them in. Anything else i can try?
Use a file to smooth the edges
Something that can take a bit of time but could be worth it is doing corset flossing, which is basically adding embroidery to the ends of your boning channels for an extra layer of protection. Hope that helps!
