Tips in DPF regeneration
1. switch off the auto start stop
2. make sure fuel is in half a tank
3. clear the MIL engine fault codes
4. Start driving in 5th gear if fitted with 6 speed gearbox.
Hi its an old video but for information reason I m going to leave this comment for new viewers. So I had this issue on my audi sport 2.0 mileage 42000 in cold weather jan coolnet fan would start with burning smell on local drives 20-30 after afew minutes and I thought the coolnet or some thing inside. take to local garage the level up coolnet even tho it was fine and sent me back drives 1 day fine bang again the fan thing comes in was worried as sick( had very bad experience with my mercedes sport amg afew year back ) make an appointment with garage for next week .on Monday my way to garage the dpf particulate sign comes on and dash but I continued drive on 30-40 by the time I arrive garage it was disappear. In the garage an old fella ( customer) told me first go to motorway drive on 50-60 on 4th gear than if its still there come back to garage .I drove back home check audi manual book same advice drove on 60kmp with 2000 rpm 4-5 gear for 15 minutes .did same on high way instead motorway and drove back so far no sign no coolnet fan run( coolnet fan is a part of procses when car regenerate). might it has sorted itself .Will update if anything happen near future .
Hello, after the dpf sensor has been replaced with a new one, do you have to relearn it’s values with a diagnostic tool or does simply replacing it do the job ? Many thanks
Hi on this model no, some models yes. DPF issues are common, by driving on 2nd highest gear with 1/2 tank fuel on highway will help you to perform a DPF regeneration.
Hi, I have a 2015 2.0TDI Audi A3 8V and have amber check engine light with fault code P2456 which says DPF pressure sensor A circuit intermittent. Is this the same part? And is the location the same? TIA :)

Didn’t you need to strip down the particulate filter and to clean it?
It’s a DPF diesel particulate filter sensor. Best way to sort this out is to fill up diesel and continue driving until the DPF light on the dashboard goes away. If the DPF is too blocked then yes you will have to try to clean by removing it. Hope this helps

Hi, I had the same lights. I drove on motorway and particulate filter light has gone but glow plug light still flashing and check engine light is still on. What do I do? Do I need to replace DPF sensors?
Hi you need to check the engine code with obd2 code reader
My a3 is in the same state - managed to clear the dpf light but still have the engine management and flashing glow plug light.
What was the outcome in the end?
@@nathanmailer9810 took it to the garage and they changed the DPF filter I think and reset the codes.
@@Muhammadr3625 Thanks for the quick response. Was that just the filter unit, or the entire DPF? How much did it cost you roughly? Cars going in on Wednesday, preparing myself for the worst!!
@@nathanmailer9810 just the filter I think. Just did a full service so cost me around 120 if I remember correctly. Not a lot.
Hello , my A3 has a engine management light on and the error code is p047100.
Which relates to the same to change the exhaust pressure sensor.
I checked your video and found it useful, just wanted to ask there are 2 sensors located do I need to change both or just the one that you changed as per your video the 1st positioned
Just one before you do that have you driven the car for long drive engine usually start dpf regeneration when engine is on optimum temperature and enough fuel.
@@MustangMotors I have just changed exhaust pressure sensor and will take the car for a spin..to see if this has worked....will keep you posted if this has helped
@@MustangMotors but i changed sensors but when I step on it or gho fast i wil lget errot with dpf pressure sensor implausible signal ? why ? when I drive under 100 mph the error won't pop up or management light ..you really didn't show how you entering new values for replaced sensors?
hey, my A3 has a fault with egt bank 1 sensor 4. where is it? i think iv changed all the other egt sensors but the one I need too haha
what fault codes do you have, I am not sure there are bank 1 sensor 4? is it dual CAT. usually its on 4 cylinder vehicle it has exhaust bank 1 and sensor 1 is front and sensor 2 is rear.

I have a same problem on my car. But no fault code or check engine light. Only partikelfilter light coming up

Yes it does, can you first try driving the car for an 1-1.5 hours on motorway until the dpf light if OFF if it’s ON the the dashboard. Normally the car automatically performs a DPF regeneration. Make sure you have plenty of fuel.
