I have the Dahle 133 and I have yet to find a pencil it can’t sharpen…no more broken leads. Truly a game changer. I am in love

Nice that this one is basically an "all in one," I have several hand held sharpeners, and one little mini hand crank, but none sharpen all of them. So I am constantly having to switch sharpeners. Lol Thanks for the review!

Great video Karen! Nice to see how it worked with a variety of pencils. I too have the Dahle 133 and get sore arm and hand when having to sharpen a new set of pencils. Going to pick this electric one up after your review. ❤😊

Karen, I have this sharpener too and love it. I don't use it for Prisma or Holbein but only because I like my iPoint Orbit so much for soft pencils. I do use them on my "giant" pencils like my Lyra and Cretacolor. It works like a charm.

I really appreciate the review, especially because everyone and their mother seems to sell pencil sharpeners!😂 This was very helpful! My last electric didn’t do well with “all” colored pencils and died.

I just bought the Bostitch elec sharpener. I debated over your sharpener or the bostitch. I really like having an electric. I was finding that the handheld canister types were eating my pencils. I’m new to the colorist world and was getting really worried that I was not going to be able to continue with coloring because I was having to replace A LOT of pencils after completing just one double spread page. (Is that how you say that?!) But then I found an article about the top sharpeners for colored pencils and decided to try the electric sharpener. So happy that I did! Now I can continue following artists like you and learning how to color!! Much love from south Louisiana!!

I have this same one, except mine is blue. A girlfriend of mine has the same in white, and suggested it to me. The first one was defected and died after one use. So I got a new one. She suggested to randomly sharpen a default lead pencil from time to time as it helps keep the sharpener cutting gears clearer and clean. Something about the lead vs the color pencils leads. I haven’t had any issues with the newest one, and it seems to hold a charge for a really long time after my first initial charge. I do however not put my prismas (and I’m saving for my holbiens so I won’t do those either when I get them) in this. I about had a hard attack when I placed it in and my brand new prisms pencils was almost halfway gone with one sharpening. 😱 I have an old Kum magnesium two hole handheld pencil sharpening that I use for my Prisma pencils. If u want a crazy long led or just a nice decent sharp lead, this does it insanely beautifully without eating my pencil up more than it should since they are such soft leads. I don’t sharpen all my pencils in one sitting if I do them by hand, I just sharpen as I go what I will color with so my hand/wrist doesn’t fall off. Lol I also have a hand crank arm one too ( I was one the search 🔦 🔍 👀 to find a decent one for all my thicknesses and shapes of colored pencils as well as decent points with no breaking which made me have a bit of a collection now lol); the hand held cranking one gets insanely long points to a decent normal long point so it too has a range. It’s some random off brand I have never heard of our seen anyone use, CXJZ, and thought I would try it. It’s crazy good for any and all my colored pencils shapes and sizes, and even does triangle/square/hexagon/circle too. I too am heavy handed so I tend to break my tips no matter how hard I try to be light when pressing my coloring pencil ✏️ if it’s too long. As always, thx for sharing all your fun new goodies. You will enjoy this sharpener. I’ve had mine for probably a little over a year now, and love it.

I have one of these as well, and it has a lot going for it--sharp point, sharpens thicker pencils, has never broken a lead--but I had to stop using it because it was chewing through too much pencil with each go. I had it on the long point setting, though, so maybe I'll try with the shorter point and see if that's better.
