You've got a great premium service on offer there!
... uniformed, signed van, insured, family run - which I think would endear you to customers/eases trust anxiety and you love the job.

Thank you so much that has made me smile👍 I try to be uniformed i do think it helps set yopu apart. I do find our customers love a family group especially for those on their own. It isn't intimidating and we can take it in turns to chat with them and together at the end.

Hi Rob. Really enjoying your channel. We barely get any skips.
We organise all our customers into rounds. Then clean them in order. We just let our customers know its monthly. If there is restrictions with access, we don't send reminders. We ask to cut a copy of any keys, or it's no service. We just keep a box of keys in the van for locked gates. Our welcome flyers, let's customers know we need 48 hours notice or its a cancellation fee. Much the same as a dentist or many other businesses. I feel your being too nice, and it's costing you.
There is no right or wrong way, of course. This is just how we deal with it.
    All the best from Scotland.

Thank you 🙏 about the channel appreciate that. Love the idea of having keys for gates that’s a great idea. I also like the 48 hours notice good idea. I think when explained well people would understand and why. I probably am being to nice lol 😂 People have to understand this is a business and we make a living from it.

Hi Rob smooth work as always , I’m still trying to master the not over cleaning !!! I’ve just politely dropped a customer for skipping/not wanting to leave her gate unlocked , most of my
Work is 8 weekly so i decided I wasn’t doing cleans every 16weeks,if they are generally good customers i dont mind , is most of your work 4 weekly ? I found 8 weekly alllowed me to
    Grow my customers and make
Room for them in the time I have available and it wasn’t too frequent for them
Either but horses for courses and all that !

Glad it’s not just me with over cleaning lol 😂. Most of my cleans are 4 weekly but I do have a lot of 8 weekly cleans. I think 8 weekly is the way to go to be honest. You can charge a bit more and have more room for customers. I am rural so a lot of my customers prefer 4 weekly due to the fields getting the windows dirty. They find 8 weekly too long.

You do seem to have reduced the number of passes on the glass - well done, I bet that was hard to adjust your technique. I think you might be able to shave a bit more off by rinsing the whole window at once - look at Sophie at 5:35 she rinses the whole window. Was the conservatory gutters, soffit and fascia a standard thing or a paid extra? Hopefully it was an extra ££ as I wouldn't clean exterior of gutters/soffit as part of a regular window clean.
Great to see you cleaning open windows, windows half covered with plants and difficult ones - not many show that sort of stuff - thanks.

Thanks Ched, it was and still is hard to break the old habit lol but it’s getting there. I am trying to rinse the whole window like Sophie does. She will be glad that you pointed it out so I’ll pass it on. Unfortunately I do clean the gutters on the conservatory cleans. It’s something I did from the start so I will have to live with it
My thinking was gutter line down all part of conservatory windows and anything above was part of a conservatory roof clean. I also thought that if a customer saw the gutters nice and clean they may ask if I clean them on the house. So plant the seed tactic. At the time when I first started I also throws to think how a customer would think. I thought they would expect it and I assumed all window cleaners cleaned them.
Totally get why that should be a little bit extra as an option though. And if I had thought that way it is something I could manage when speaking on a quote to see their expectations.

@@CrystalCleanWindows It is always difficult where to draw the line sometimes - I do clean the fascia over bay windows on the newer build type houses as it's so close to the windows it wouldn't look good on me from a neighbours point of view to see a green fascia on a window that I have just 'cleaned'. It's also probably difficult to not clean it on new work as it's force of habit. Hopefully little by little you can maintain quality and increase speed a little - allowing you to finish early or get an extra job in. Thanks for posting the vids as I'm sure it takes hours and hours to get it all completed.
