I love my equalizer. The one thing that I have noticed it that it does not have what you would consider a true reset. The trigger just goes back to it's original position. Luckily, the trigger pull is crisp and does not have much initial take up.

I’m pretty sure your trigger pull average would be lower if you had the gun stationary. It’s probably closer to 4.5#’s.

I think you are right. With this particular type of trigger scale, it shouldn’t make a difference, but when checking anything scientifically, it’s always best to remove as many variables as possible. I will give it a try your way. Thank you for your recommendation.

I was a Very Good Boy this year because Santa put this under my tree! I’m a .45 guy so this is my first 9mm, but I really like the weapon so far. Since it’s a good deal smaller and lighter than my Ruger P345 this is going to be my EDC. My only complaint is that I cannot release the slide by pressing down on the slide stop with my thumb; I have to use both thumbs and press down *hard* and I’m not exactly a weak man. I’m not winning any powerlifting competitions but I have no issue releasing the slide stop on my .45. Has anyone else had this issue with their Equalizer, and does anyone know how to fix it?

Why cannot you not shoot it in Maryland? I live in Maryland and have 98% of my 45 years of age and I have this handgun. You can’t buy a mag over ten rounds and have it shipped to you, but it’s 100% legal to drive to Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, or Pennsylvania and buy the 13/15 round mags and bring them back to the state. It’s a ridiculous law - you can’t order a fifteen round mag online and have it shipped to you, yet it’s perfectly legal to drive forty minutes from here in Harford County into Newark and buy a 15rd mag and bring it back home.

It's my understanding that you can't use the slide release If unloaded and racked back.

S&W Equalizer,
First this is not a review, this is my honest opinion as a new user of the new S&W Equalizer, and not a review.
I love this new pistol, for someone who has Arthritis in the hand and grip issues and trouble racking the slide, this pistol is almost perfect.
I say almost perfect. The problem I have found, is first and foremost the one thing I hate, and that’s the grip safety. I’ve never been a fan of grip safety’s, I would rather see a trigger safety, but it is what it is.
The way the slide is made to operate, it makes it difficult to slingshot and rack the slide, it’s too easy to get the slide all the way back and locked when trying to slingshot.
Those are the only negatives I have really found.
The new Equalizer is my new replacement personal carry.
Finally, for those who have grip and hand issues and Arthritis, and also finally getting up in age, this is the perfect pistol. It’s also perfect for everyone else especially women.

Why do you hate grip safeties?
Have you had a failure?
Have you failed to grip the gun correctly?
Have you shot the gun?
Do you notice when your shoot, and if so, every shot or after so manny rounds?

Too much stuff . Don't do reviews unless you can fire the weapon. People want to know if it shoots well and how does it handle recoil. They can go to a gun store and check fitment.
