FINALLY, a ref in the Mosconi cup that walks over and specifically calls a guy out for screeching when a player is down on a shot. IMO they should get one warning for that crap, and then ejected from that match, like they do in snooker. And do it in two matches in one event, eject them PERMANENTLY, from the entire event. Do it again in the next event, and bar them from EVER attending another event.
It's not only disruptive, it can absolutely change the outcome of a shot, especially the ones that blurt out like little girls in a panic for no apparent reason. There's always one or two, and I've noticed there is sometimes a definite preference for which team is shooting, constantly distracting one team. There's always one, that guy that thinks he's funny as hell and deserves a cue butt, sans bumper, in the teeth. It is truly hard for me to believe those guys play pool, except maybe in some bar where they are all drunk and everyone acts like uncaring, irritating assh*les. At least most of them calmed down a bit after the reprimand.
Sorry to be blunt, but DAMN, that gets tiresome. In the Mosconi, noise between shots, OK, I guess, but when a player starts down on a shot they need to shut the hell up. In my hall if they pulled that crap, even in leagues, they would be asked to leave, or maybe even given the above treatment if someone got a bit out of control, a little TOO pissed. I've actually never seen something even close to that violent, but I've seen a few moderate head butt level type stuff, not from league players, but others. Some of those guys seem to think it's life and death whether they win or lose a $20.

😊I can't believe all the negative comments about the crowd. This is the Mosconi...Europe vs USA. I think the crowd involvement is expected and even encouraged to an extent. Alcohol is also involved here....but honestly this event looks like a lot of fun to me. I also think it's fun to see how the players can handle the extra challenge. Also - who wants to attend a live event where it's like being in a library? I prefer this crowd to the "polite" crowd that starts applauding after every single shot - meaning people who don't really know the game. This crowd feels like they're real fans and taking an oppertunity in a special event to have some real fun. I enjoy watching the Mosconi Cup because of the fans and the pool!
I dont know much about pool, but i feel like the people shouting and mocking the players when their taking the shot should immediately be kicked out. No respect whatsoever

Do you see this at ANY other pool match, or say a golf tournament, where players are addressing a shot? No, you don't. There's a reason for that, and that is because the rest of us don't behave like two year olds with three quarters of their brain removed who don't understand standard etiquette, ie how to behave like homo sapiens. Comparing it to soccer, basketball, or football is just BEYOND stupid. There it is just fine, most of the players WELCOME it, here it isn't, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone playing these matches that it doesn't irritate.
Were you guys some of the moronic jerks making that noise? If you were see my top level comment above. And if you were, where do you play, in some bar some where? If you do, how about staying there. Those folks are right down your street.

The Mosconi has really started being a zoo/kindergarten over the past few years. The crowd is just ridiculous, treating the event like some bar match . They really should learn a thing or two from snooker spectators
It's not just snooker, but they are kind of the ultimate in that regard. It's not remotely tolerated in any other pro pool even I've seen. They need a dickhead/blood alcohol meter at the door.
