- A cinematic video of me and my mate Roger walking all 6 stages of the Schluchtensteig. A 119 km long hiking trail through the beautiful Black Forest (Schwartzwald) and considered one of the top trails in Germany.
The Schluchtsteig hiking trail connects 7 beautiful gorges in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park: Wutachschlucht, Lotenbachklamm, Schleifenbachfälle, Haslachschlucht, Windbergwasserfall, Hohwehraschlucht and the Wehratalschlucht.
Through deep gorges you walk on natural rock paths from from one epic scenery into the other, with moss-covered rock walls and splashing waterfalls along the way.
A great way to admire the varied landscape of the natural park.

Stage 1: Etappe: Stühlingen - Blumberg (19 km)
Stage 2: Blumberg - Schattenmühle (20 km) - 1:19
Stage 3: Schattenmühle - Schluchsee (18 km) - 4:00
Stage 4: Etappe: Schluchsee - St. Blasien (20 km) - 6:04
Stage 5: St. Blasien - Todtmoos (20 km) - 8:13
Stage 6: Todtmoos - Wehr (22 km) - 10:45

It was the first week of may.
I've done in end of June in 2018. It was perfect. Shade of trees meant it was never hot but summer meant it was really pleasant. It was not busy - somedays I never saw a soul on the path.
Beste Marco, mijn zoon wordt 18 deze zomer en ik wil met hem in 3 dagen ( een deel van) de schwardswald doen. Welke deel vond je het leukste en qua transport vanuit Nederland, hebben jullie gevlogen of met de trein ? Bedankt alvast voor je tips :-)
Sorry, beetje late reactie (ik zag je reactie nu pas).
Etappe 2 en 3 zijn het mooist, al zijn de overige etappes ook erg de moeite waard. Wij zijn met de auto naar het startpunt in Stuhlingen gereden. Vanaf het einde van de trail in Wehr kun je de met de bus en trein terug naar Stuhlingen. Ik weet niet precies hoe het zit met vervoer als je losse etappes loopt, maar op iedere plaats waar we overnacht hebben was een busverbinding, dus ik denk niet dat dat een probleem is.

De hele tocht lijkt me voor een kind van zes nog veel te zwaar (ik heb zelf een dochter van 6 jaar). Ik zou het bij wat kortere dagwandelingen houden.
nee, de wandeling is voor volwassenen. Voor een kind is dit definitief te inspannend en te lang.
U wandelt elke dag rond 20 km !
Zonder rustdag.
I did this in 2018 in 5 days - but I think 6 is more civilized. Who did you book through? You know it's strange -it's a big world and there are so many places to go - but I'd so much like to do this again. It was so beautilful. Especially Wutach.
