This song is amazing! Not every Sagat theme has to sound super intense, the song feeling more laid back and dramatic the way it is makes sense, Ryu and Sagat aren’t really fighting for blood anymore, the two have grown a ton at this point in the storyline and are now just rivals!
contrary to your point of view, actually find this theme to be very intense but in a focused way. It's like this theme is telling both fighters to go all out but fight smart because you're gonna need everything y'all got. the tension ESPECIALLY picks up in the low hp section. want to know how all this method to the madness comes together? hear this theme with the background effects. trust me, it's quite intense!
Am i the only one liking this theme? i get that its not as hard-core as the orginal, but from my perspective the new theme sounds like it's retelling the old ost/story instead of reliving it. Especially with the flutes, really hits sort of a new feel to it.
In a way it makes sense that this theme is not as epic as in Alpha 2, since that time it was a final epic battle between 2 rivals, and here is more like a sparring session between 2 fighters basically. So it fits if you think about it.

What can i say but thanks ! I felt the same as you. honestly i also was desappointed cause the trailer's song where closer from Zero 2 version, when i heard this final version i was a bit sad. But, in the meantime that i started to work on the mix i also started to kinda like it, not so bad song after all ;)
At first is was like: "Omg they fucked up the track" But after 1 Minute into it.... damn it´s good. Different than the SFA2Gold one, but good :D (I prefer the SFA2G-Version more anyway :D )
@@fightingforce8498 1. Sagat's theme is in the original. 2. The stage is still listed as Australia 3. This is Sagat vs Ryu, and the fight is important to Sagat's character more than it is to Ryu, thus using his theme both times

The problem is that when it comes to games and entertainment, things were actually better in the 90's because companies didn't take the fans for granted and treat them with contempt. Effort was spent in making something good because you couldn't just patch something after and a product needed to be finished and polished before it went out the door. There was a lot of trash entertainment too but it rightfully burned because there were no corporate safeguards to keep a polished turd from failing spectacularly. I remember going into a game store and gushing about all the games I wanted. Now when i go in to a gamestop I just think, "Meh. Nothing here I want".

Of course the original is better, it spoke to us when we were teenagers what a passionate battle really meant to both Sagat and Ryu. Now it's just a water down-stage with lazy ass musicians not willing to put out the work to provide us with a solid breathtaking track to make us come back after decades of playing Street fighter Alpha 2.

No more revenge or negativity between them, just what they really are: two respectable and strong warriors fighting each other with their best.
